The System Sent Me to Breed an All-Female Amazon Tribe-Chapter 84: Bonus - 12: No one Sent Me to Invade the All-Female Amazon Tribe—The Shadow Bancho and a Very Angry Sara II
Tamar, the daughter of Queen Elara, standing atop a high branch, a bow already drawn for another shot. Her expression was utterly cold and focused, so utterly merciless too.
I thought she was away from here? Was she not near Shishi-no-su’s borders before I left?
I had made a catastrophic miscalculation.
...Wait.
Is it possible that I might actually be killed here?
The thought struck me like another arrow.
No.
I refuse to die just yet!
I threw myself into motion again—reviving the dodging, and hopping, and twisting in the middle of the air with every desperate trick I knew.
My body bent and contorted beyond what any normal frame should allow, trying to thread the needle between death raining from above.
"Argh!" a cry was torn from my mouth.
One of the arrows had finally found me.
Tamar’s arrow pierced clean through my left arm, the barbed head bursting out the other side. The force dragged me sideways, slamming me hard against a tree trunk and pinning me there like a butterfly on display.
I immediately grabbed the stick with my shaking fingers, my teeth gritted, and was ready to yank it free—
But then a blur emerged directly in front of me.
I abruptly looked up to find trouble: The Amazon, Sara.
A very angry Sara.
Her face was squeezed tight, her cheeks were flushed, her jaw was clenched, and her eyes were burning with so much wrath, so palpable it felt like real heat was radiating off her skin.
Bitterness had twisted every line of her expression into something almost unrecognizable and beastly.
And without ceremony, she began to pound the living hell out of me.
For a small moment there, I wanted to plead with her to stop hurting me...
Her fists were like the fluttering of a dragon fly’s wings.
Each blow landed with such intensity that the massive tree I was nailed to shuddered and groaned under the pressure.
Cracks spider webbed up the trunk with the hits, and bark rained down around us.
So fast... So heavy.
There was no escape for me.
My head snapped back, with my face caving under a hook. My eye swelled shut from constant hitting. My ribs folded inward with dull snaps, as my arms twisted at unnatural angles. Then I heard a crack, as my pelvis fractured under her rising knee.
There was no more air in me to gasp or wail, my body simply dangled under the punch rain.
I was being brutally and efficiently maimed.
Then she paused just for a second, to draw her next, and maybe final, blow.
And I seized the opening.
My small hand closed around the arrow shaft and ripped it free in one savage pull, as blood sprayed out.
I reversed the weapon and drove the bloodied point deep into her thigh.
But Sara didn’t even react or wince from pain.
She instead answered me with a knee to my abdomen so hard my vision whited out for a second. I vomited; bile and blood splattering across her feet.
And before I could collapse, she drove her knee into my abdomen again.
This time I went flying in the air.
My body spun weakly through the air, as everything went hazy and blue at the edges of my vision, and the trees blurred above me.
The ground rushed up far below.
And when I felt like it couldn’t get any worse... thing got worse.
Lotus’s voice rang out from somewhere below, with her usual calm and ceremonial tone.
"ὦμέγιστε Ζεῦ θεῶν θεέ, ἱκετεύω σε "Δὸς μοι τὴν δύναμιν τὸν ἐχθρὸν εἰς σποδὸν μεταβαλεῖν." With her final cry, the clouds overhead boiled black "Κεραυνός!"
A blinding blue-white flash of plasma tore down from the sky and struck me dead-center.
Some force, alongside the lightning, violently dragged me back to the ground in a vibrating and shattering force.
The trees around me blackened instantly; bark charred to crisps and leaves reduced to floating ash.
My entire body felt burrowed inward, as though every drop of blood had been boiled away in a single instant. My limbs wouldn’t obey me, and my lungs refused to draw as much air as I needed.
Pain...
Pain was everywhere and nowhere at once.
If... if I use [Dark Communion] now... I might still evade this looming death.
But I don’t want to drag Shishi-no-su into war because of my own foolishness.
It was my silly choice that brought me here after all.
"Are you ready to confess, demon?" Sara’s resonant and thunderous voice boomed with palpable contempt. "Or should we simply extinguish your measly life?"
She and the Amazon warriors began to close in, forming a tightening ring around my charred, trembling form.
Oh... I see.
They must think I’m a demon.
But it didn’t really change anything. Not at all.
If I couldn’t escape now, my species wouldn’t matter; they’d kill me either way.
Not to mention: the lightning strike had scorched my silhouette into the ground like a shadow burned in reverse. Every line of my small body was now probably utterly visible against the blackened earth.
There was no hiding anymore. Though the fact I’m a beastkin is still hidden.
Worse of all... I’m dying now.
The lightning strike had scorched every nerve of me, every vein, and left my silhouette burned into the blackened ground like a brand.
Every shallow breath I took felt like inhaling broken shards of rocks. My small body trembled uncontrollably, with blood and char mixing in streams down my skin.
"Tell me, where have you taken Benjamin Mark!" Sara’s pained and sharp voice cracked open again, quite aggrieved and desperate. "P... Please, tell me. Please... He is an important part of my life. I can’t lose hi—"
SMACK!
Swiftly, my leg snapped upward with the fastest movement I could conjure.
The heel of my foot connected squarely with her face, that it felt as if her bone gave way under the impact.
Blood immediately sprayed in a wide, crimson arc as she staggered backward and crashed to the dirt.
Baka! Never show vulnerability in battle or you’ll be taken advantage of.
I didn’t give her—or anyone else—a second to recover.
Power surged into my legs despite the screaming protest of torn muscle and fractured bone. I kicked off the ground with everything I had left.
The force launched me forward like a cannon-shot boulder.
I tore straight through the tightening ring of Amazons surrounding me. Slamming their shoulders aside as I speared through them, their weapons clattering uselessly against the air where I had been a heartbeat earlier.
Screams of surprise and rage chased me, but I was already far gone.
With one leap, I was carried through a full mile beyond the outer edges of Verdant Spire.
Tree branches whipped across my back like flails, tearing my fresh welts and reviving my previous wounds.
Pain.
A lot of pain flared white-hot with every strike, but I didn’t slow.
As I began to near the ground again, the second leap launched me clear of the thick forest canopy.
I burst into the open plain, with the grasses whipping at my calves, as the wind roared in my ears.
I was about three miles away now.
Three precious, unbearable miles between me and the heart of Amazon territory.
My heel felt like it was about to rip clean off the bone. And every landing I experienced sent a sickening jolt up my leg, threatening to buckle me.
But I couldn’t stop. Not yet.
I reached out to my team immediately, before Lotus and the rest could turn the beastkin agents into more broken hostages.
[Tensei!] [Usa]
The telepathic link unrestrictedly connected instantly.
[Silver-sama! What happened?! We suddenly sensed a massive battle erupting in the Amazon’s forest!] [Ten]
[I don’t have time to explain now—I’m being chased! But take the other agents and leave immediately. That’s an order, you hear?!] [Usa]
[What?! What about you, then?] [Ten]
[Forget about me, you damn fool! Take the young bloods and cram! Lotus will soon be on you any moment from now!] [Usa]
[But Silver-sama...! You surely cannot take on the entire Amazon tribe on your—] [Ten]
[No buts! Just shut up and obey orders, you sex slave!] [Usa]
[...]
Silence only prevailed after my venomous words...
Our telepathic exchanges were faster than spoken words, and our thoughts transferred in flashes, complete in less than two seconds.
But even in that compressed instant, I could feel the weight of his worry pressing back against me.
He and the others were terrified for their trashy, reckless boss, huh?
The definition of naivety... just like a certain god-touched I know.
I decided to soften my tone, just a little. Because if I didn’t, they might refuse to leave.
And if the Amazons caught them...
I would hate myself forever if those women started peeling answers out of my people the same way they had peeled limbs from their prisoners.
[Look, Tensei. I’m totally fine. I’ve told you to stop worrying about me. You all should escape immediately... these Amazons, you see, are completely insane and savage. They’ll skin you all alive without a second thought. As for me, I do not want my identity exposed and drag Shishi-no-su into open war with the entire Racial Alliance. I’m currently escaping at high speed, and when I’m far enough where I can’t be seen, I’ll teleport away.] [Usa]
[...And if they do not give you such leisure?] [Ten]
[Well... I’ll kill myself immediately. I’ll throw my entire existence fully into Void’s Pocket, the dark dimension, and my soul will be wasted. It would be a fitting end for one as mischievous and reckless as me, no?] [Usa]
[...]
I could still feel the pain behind his silence, the refusal to let me die. That loyalty that bordered on stupid... I’m not a fan of it at all.
[Tensei, please promise me this...] [Usa]
Deep down, I already knew: I wasn’t getting out of this alive.
