The Stunning Mad Empress: The Useless Third Miss-Chapter 4 - Restoring the Dantian
The man, with his hands behind his back, squinted his eyes through the mask that contoured his face as he examined Xiao Qingcheng, who appeared to be in a disheveled state. Xiao Qingcheng met the man’s cold and intimidating aura, feeling a chill run down her spine. Few people could evoke such a sensation in her. Today, she had happened to help this man, and it seemed to be a good move.
The man, facing Xiao Qingcheng’s gaze—one part fear, three parts confidence, and six parts dominance—gradually curved his lips into a smile. He extended his hand and waved it through the air. The herbs in Xiao Qingcheng’s hand involuntarily flew into the man’s grasp.
“I accept this favor,” the man said, no longer referring to himself as “I.” His presence seemed even more powerful than before.
Xiao Qingcheng’s eyes widened in astonishment as she watched the man, who could manipulate objects from a distance. According to her knowledge, there should be very few people on the Phoenix Singing Continent with such abilities. Who on earth was this man?
“The pill in this vial can repair your dantian damaged by the curse. Consider it a return gift. In the world of Phoenix Singing Continent, the strong rule. Only by cultivating your internal energy and breaking through your limits can you truly achieve enlightenment.”
After leaving these enigmatic words, the man vanished from Xiao Qingcheng’s sight in an instant.
“Disappeared into thin air? Or was it just too fast to see?”
Xiao Qingcheng frowned, looking at the pure white jade pendant and a white porcelain vial on the round table. She was shocked. Whoever could identify the poison in her body and offer such a jade and pill must have had an agenda and come prepared.
“Humph!” she snorted coldly.
Xiao Qingcheng opened the vial and swallowed the only white, round pill inside. No matter what this man’s intentions were, she needed to take the pill. In the world where the strong ruled, she was indeed… too weak!
As soon as the pill entered her body, a refreshing chill spread throughout her entire being. Then, an unbearable pain erupted from her dantian. Xiao Qingcheng clenched her teeth and rolled off the chair onto the floor. The pain, more intense than broken bones or corroded flesh, turned her face pale and almost made her lose consciousness.

Outside the house, on the treetops, a tall and imposing figure stood in the wind, bathed in the bright moonlight. A slender, jade-like hand gently removed a silver-gilded mask from his face. The handsome features that emerged were more captivating than those of any legendary beauty, exuding an aura of royal majesty that seemed to dominate the world.
Every movement of his was filled with a fierce and natural charisma. His dark eyes, tinged with a hint of gold, radiated a condescending and disdainful air of superiority. With a thin-lipped smile, he spoke with a mix of helplessness and admiration: “What a resilient woman! She is destined by fate, a phoenix in human form, and has even cultivated a golden dantian. Such extraordinary talent is not wasted on this visit!”
After a barely audible sigh, the man waved his hand. He enclosed a burst of red light above the dilapidated house within a barrier he formed with his bare hands. When the red light dissipated, Xiao Qingcheng inside the house was drenched in sweat, having endured the excruciating pain.
“Ouch! That really hurts!” Trying to sit up, ignoring the sweat pouring down her face, Xiao Qingcheng immediately felt for her pulse.
Indeed! In that moment of focusing her spirit, she saw the vortex of energy forming in her lower abdomen. The slightly golden vortex seemed to hold a vigorous force.
“It seems that man really didn’t deceive me. Restoring the dantian allows me to cultivate internal energy and gather vital energy. But now I still need to find a way to get the curse out of my body; otherwise, this newly repaired body will still be drained.”
With that, Xiao Qingcheng quickly got up and sat back at the round table. She opened her bag, took out a rusty little knife, quickly cut her skin, and applied several herbs with a special smell to the wound.
Enduring the pain, Xiao Qingcheng began to wait patiently for the curse to crawl out on its own.
“A master of medicine and poison, capable of resolving the most complicated curses. The Xiao family has lost such a pearl and will surely regret it one day.”
The man on the treetops outside the house saw everything clearly. His thin lips curved slightly, and after a moment of hesitation, he waved his sleeve, and a small, round creature flew swiftly towards Xiao Qingcheng’s room.
“Since you kindly gave me the herbs, let this little creature protect you for a while.”
With that, his figure disappeared in an instant.
Only a full moon remained, hanging high in the night sky.
Inside the house.
Xiao Qingcheng was so focused on her arm, which kept oozing black blood, that she didn’t notice a furry little creature had climbed onto her window and even targeted her bed.
“Humph! Such a small curse bug; it’s a pity that Xiao Qingxue and her mother could even resort to this.”
Xiao Qingcheng used an empty pill bottle from the table to capture the dark little bug. The moment the curse left her body, Xiao Qingcheng felt the strange force that had been pressing on her blood vessels and meridians disappear instantly.
She took a deep breath and glanced at the few herbs left in her bag, sighing, “Now only the toxin remains. If all goes well, I can clear the toxins from my body in three months.”
After staying up all night, Xiao Qingcheng, exhausted from just removing the curse, lay back down on the bed. Suddenly, she felt something furry and chubby… nudging her foot. Almost reflexively, Xiao Qingcheng kicked out.
“Whoa! Don’t kick me!”
A childish roar pierced the night like lightning, leaving Xiao Qingcheng wide-eyed and stunned.
“What is that?”
Sitting up, Xiao Qingcheng saw a little furry ball flying back and clinging to the back of her hand. She exclaimed in surprise.
“I’m a clever, cute, smart, and powerful little treasure.”
Xiao Qingcheng couldn’t help but laugh at the adorable, round creature on her palm. She replied with a smile, “I think you’re just a little kitten!”
The creature, as round as a ball and with pure white, smooth fur like pearls, had big, shiny eyes that were endearingly naive. With just a couple of blinks, it could make anyone like it involuntarily.
“I’m not a cat! I’m a little dragon! How could a cat talk? It’s just that I’m too small. So the Honored One despises me and never lets me out to play.”
Xiao Qingcheng looked at the little creature, which was acting like a beauty lamenting its fate, and narrowed her eyes. “Honored One?”
“Ah! None of that matters! Anyway, the clever and cute little treasure is going to follow you now, and you can’t despise me.”
“I can’t take care of you. You’ve seen my situation. It’s better to follow the man with the silver mask from before. Yeah, the Honored One you just mentioned?”
Xiao Qingcheng replied honestly.
