The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 342: Nowhere Close
Immediately, blood began to swirl, nearly cracking the air with each bit of mana used. And yet, the Eternal Sin's expression didn't falter in the slightest.
It was almost like some sort of triviality.
But neither Neraxis nor Evangeline was going to go easy on him, so after taking a few more moments to adjust his Blood Manipulation, Neraxis finally did the one thing he always liked to do.
<500x Blood Constructs Summoned! Type: Combat—Mini Ant>
[HP -4,375! 1,930/8,750]
It wasn't the most overpowered thing he could do, but it was definitely up there. After all, if he were to choose regular constructs, he'd only be able to summon 10 blood kobolds at most.
The rate for 500 mini ants was a flat 50% of his HP, which, in the end, seemed to be worth it as the mini ants dug into the soft soil beneath them and began traveling toward the Eternal Sin.
It was an effective way to chip away at the Eternal Sin's HP, and in the meantime...
"What an ugly mug," Evangeline remarked.
Neraxis's brows twitched. "He kind of looks like me, though?"
"'Kind of' looking like you makes him ugly. No one can replicate your handsomeness," Evangeline replied with a confident smile, causing Neraxis to roll his eyes.
Then, without further hesitation, he took a step forward, reappearing in front of the Eternal Sin once again.
Yet Lagus was prepared, and by merely raising his hand, he sent a decaying wave of mana toward Neraxis, threatening to disintegrate his body.
However, since Neraxis was greatly used to the Decaying affinity, the only thing he did was raise his hand, accept the mana, and then reverse it out of his fingertips.
He didn't even take a single bit of damage, and because of that, a slightly surprised look appeared on Lagus's face.
"For someone who's supposed to be a summoned monster, you sure are damn strong, aren't you?" Neraxis commented with a grunt.
Even if he didn't take damage, his body was greatly strained from the Decay coursing through it.
Lagus tilted his head. "And are you sure I'm not real? You do know that there are two of me in this world. One is inside your mind, and the other? Roaming the continent, growing stronger."
"So you answered your own question then," Neraxis snickered. "You're not real. You're only a manifestation of a fear I once had."
"Really?" A smile tugged at Lagus's lips. "That's news to me. From what I can see of your memories, with every plan surrounding me, you have at least 20 contingency plans on how to deal with me. You are forever afraid, and nothing has changed across all the millions of lifetimes you've lived."
Neraxis fell silent for a moment, and instead, Evangeline spoke up.
"Wow... for someone who has a stick up their ass, you sure talk a lot, don't you?" Evangeline said flatly.
Lagus slowly brought his head in her direction as a frown appeared.
"You've always been a part of his plans, you know that? If he were to ever fail, you'd step in and help him." Lagus chuckled coldly. "For someone to be relying on a mere vampire progenitor, he must really have no shame."
"Ha? You're one to talk. You killed the husband and daughter of one of your friends. You're worse than trash," Evangeline replied with a scoff. "You remember Delta, don't you?"
Lagus's gaze hardened. "She's still alive? Damn... she must be really old by now."
He's talking as if he's really here, Evangeline, Neraxis commented.
[Yeah, I can tell.] Evangeline sighed. [He might be a fragment of the real Lagus. Maybe some memories are intact.]
And how exactly do we deal with him? My ants are being destroyed before they can even reach him, and whenever we get close, he simply pushes us away, Neraxis asked. Honestly, our best bet is to just run away, I feel like.
Evangeline sighed once more and approached him, placing her hands over his cheeks and cupping them.
"You're not running away. We need to beat his ass at least once, okay?" Evangeline said, squishing his cheeks further.
Since she was squishing them so hard, he couldn't speak, only nod.
"Good, now listen to this strategy," Evangeline added, looking around a few times, then leaning up to his ear and whispering.
"Go for the balls."
He's made out of grass...
Evangeline froze. "Oh right..."
Neraxis gently pushed her away and glanced back at the Eternal Sin, who was watching their entire interaction with an amused expression.
But this was also the perfect time to try something.
"How do we beat you?" Neraxis asked flatly.
"Hmm...?" Lagus tilted his head. "Are you serious?"
"Yes. We're going to kill you whether you like it or not, but it's going to take longer. The least you can do is tell me a weakness, right?"
He didn't sound convincing at all, but given how sadistic Lagus was, it might just work.
But instead of a reply, what he got instead was a laugh.
"Pfft... hahahaha!" Lagus placed a hand over his forehead, pushing back his long black hair. "You really are something, aren't you? I guess we're compatible after all."
Neraxis merely stared at Lagus for a few moments, and then, after what felt like several minutes of silence, Lagus spoke.
"We, the sins, have weaknesses that go against our limits. It's difficult to explain, but just know that if you out-fuck the Sovereign of Lust, then she'd be killed. If you beat the Sovereign of Pride while the two of you are fighting equally, he will be killed. Uhh... what else..."
Lagus fell into thought for a moment before suddenly raising a finger.
"Wrath is also very interesting. You can kill him if your wrath is more than his. Honestly, I think it's impossible unless someone just so happened to skin and massacre your entire family in front of you."
Neraxis's brows furrowed. "I'll figure something out. But are you going to reveal your weaknesses? You know... to make it more fair?"
"Weaknesses?" Lagus tilted his head, a sadistic smile forming on his face.
The surroundings suddenly chilled, almost as if the strongest being in the world had entered. Yet it was nothing of the sort. Instead, the wider Lagus's smile became, the higher the pressure intensified.
Lagus took a few steps forward, his sadistic smile growing by the moment.
"I have no weaknesses, Neraxis."
