"But we all have tricks all up our sleeves. Isn't that right, boss mind stalk apes?"

The mind stalk ape boss watched him coldly without making any moves. But Vacuse could feel the glee radiating from it, as if it was relishing catching Vacuse within his own trap.

The three monsters in front of him began to creep closer toward him. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Vacuse took a step back and raised his hands. "Why don't you relax? You don't want to pick on a second stage when you guys are in the third stage, would you?"

There was a brief pause, as if the monsters might actually listen to him, but then, with growls that shook the ground, they pounced on him and, at the same time, revealed different abilities.

The hound of bones and darkness unfurled, its body turning into strings of darkness that lifted up into the air, striking forward like a serpent monster.

The ape monster was right behind it, the air distorting around it, and each step it took made the ground crack. Its power was making things heavy.

Only the rodent like monster was relatively weaker. The only changes it showed were that its fur suddenly turned hard and shiny, each hair on it turning into sharpened steel weapons.

As the three strongest third stage monsters pounced on him, the very air shook from their malicious aura.

Vacuse's eyes narrowed as an intense feeling of danger and crisis fell on him. The first attack he intercepted was that of the darkness unfurling toward him.

He gestured, and his own type of darkness jumped from the ground, the void type that cut upward, directly mixing with that darkness.

The two types of darkness mixed, and Vacuse heard a painful howl that belonged to the monster of bones and darkness.

But his attention was already on the other two.

As a stage two himself, his power should be nothing compared to the third stage monsters. But he is Vacuse. Vacuse Vorrakyn of the Void Dragon.

He shot forward like an uncoiled spring, so fast he left afterimages behind. It seemed as if he would collide with the ape monster that was making the space around it heavy at any moment.

The mind stalk ape boss was watching intently, waiting for the collision to happen. It knew that the instant its enemy got within the domain of the other ape, then it was over.

No matter Vacuse's speed, the moment he stepped into the space, his speed would be forcefully reduced due to the effects of the heavy air.

Once Vacuse's speed was forcefully reduced, they would all attack, even the other monsters trapped within the cage that was created.

Vacuse got within eight feet of the ape monster.

The next step he took brought him directly into the ape monster's space, and as expected, the air around him became heavy, pulling him down, forcing him.

The other monsters, including the mind stalk ape boss, roared with glee and got ready to pounce, but something unexpected suddenly happened.

A dark gaping hole appeared behind Vacuse, and he disappeared within. He vanished.

Bam.

The ape monster's hands came down, easily crushing the stones where Vacuse once stood. At the same time, several arrows of steel fur passed through the empty space.

But their target was already gone.

The mind stalk ape roared with anger, its voice reverberating through the air and making everything quiver.

The other monsters cowered and shivered as they felt the anger of their master. The mind stalk ape boss was intelligent, and it had dominated the area for so long with its mind. But within minutes of clashing with Vacuse, it found out that there were tricks within tricks.

At the same time, something suddenly fell to the ground with a soft thud, drawing attention.

It was the other monster of bones and darkness. It had lost against the void magic sent against it.

The mind stalk ape boss grunted, and the monsters frantically began to search the area for their disappeared target, sniffing and digging the ground around them.

It was then that a voice suddenly cut through the air. "You monsters are so funny. And you, mind stalk ape boss, are nothing more than a monster still. In the future, when you advance, you might get even smarter than some humans. Alas, I'm going to kill you before then."

The voice was coming from a coin sized dark hole that appeared where Vacuse disappeared.

The mind stalk ape boss narrowed its eyes as the monsters jumped at the place where the hole was, but something else also happened just then.

The thread that formed the cage they were in began to roll inward. The threads unraveled and turned into thin spikes that stabbed down.

A lot of the monsters at the edge were instantly decapitated by the spikes. But things did not end there, as more spikes swept forward like a tide, shredding through many of the monsters, turning them into minced meat.

The mind stalk ape boss protected itself by making many of the monsters fall on it, shielding it from the spikes like a flesh wall.

Within the commotion, Vacuse appeared again, a dark umbrella in his hand. A bulk of the monsters had run toward the ape with the gravity controlling power, and the area around it was filled with splattered flesh and blood as it dealt with the void thread attack.

Vacuse smiled. He raised his hand and used the umbrella as a spear, turning it into the pure sharpness of his void power, using it as pure severance.

He heaved and threw.

The dark umbrella shot forward like a spear of doom.
