The Spiteful Bride, Marry to Rival's Son-Chapter 109
THE REJECTED STONE, NOW????
The announcer’s expression slowly shifted from surprise to something more controlled.... rehearsed calm with just a touch of suspense. He held the opened envelope delicately, then looked up with a slight smirk.
"I have been instructed to invite all of you to do something a little... unconventional."
A low hum of curiosity moved across the room like a ripple on still water.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you’ll see a small code in front of you on the screen. Go ahead.... scan it with your phones. Trust me, you’re going to want to see this."
At first they were all skeptical, but immediately Mia and Stefan reached for their phones.... Samuel immediately scanned his.
He was the biggest in this room, others follows his steps, not the other way round. Jeremiah brought out his phones too and scanned the code.
Mia let out a hidden smile. She knew her dad too well, knew he would immediately scan the code if he sees her bringing out her phone first.
So it doesn’t look like he brought it because she did. He loves to lead in everything.
He was falling right where she wants him to.
Seeing the two big mogul in the business world scanning the code... one by one, people reached for their phones too.
A few seconds passed... then gasps.
The code led them to a page.... plain, dark, no names..... just one bold button.
"Play."
Nobody needed to be told. The video started playing.
At first, it was slow. A black screen, then the beat dropped gently, and visuals began.
High-rise buildings.... tall, beautiful, futuristic, stood shining under golden sun. Roads being laid with precision. Homes coming to life in seconds.
Pools, shopping complexes, schools, bridges, tunnels.... it was all there. It all looked so precised and breathtaking.
Then a calm, clear voice filled the room..... the voice-over, smooth and easy to follow.
"What if you didn’t have to run around just to build your dream project? What if all you had to do... was show up with the idea?"
The screen changed again.
A team of workers... professional, organized, setting up a foundation.
A truck with the company’s logo arriving with imported materials.
A site manager guiding a client on their tablet, showing a 3D plan.
"We don’t just build homes.
We build dreams.
From your first blueprint to your final furniture...
We’re with you."
The crowd looked on captivated. They were seeing it for themselves.
It wasn’t just about houses. This company did it all.
"Need interior design? Done.
Exterior landscaping? Covered.
Roads, bridges, smart buildings, eco-friendly spaces? All here.
Stop juggling ten contractors. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Let us do the running around... so you don’t have to."
Clips rolled of designers showing mood boards, engineers reviewing plans, workers laying tiles, painters putting on final touches.
It was seamless. Everything was in one place.
Even a section showed drone footage of construction sites being completed faster than expected..... clean, precise, beautiful.
Then came the slogan. Simple. Bold. Powerful.
"This isn’t just an empire.
This is a World that gives birth to Empires.
The Future Is Now."
And just like that, the video ended. The screen turned black. Everyone’s phones logged out automatically, as if it never happened.
Samuel sat stunned, for once he was speechless. He dare not even talk or think about the sweat on his palm.
This was a competition. One he had little chance of winning.
Jeremiah sat lost in thought. He’d never seen something like this before. He was sure the people behind the brand wasn’t from here.
He was expecting a reveal through the screen. Isn’t that what the screen was meant for?
Silence fell over the room as the announcer returned to the mic. He smiled wider now.
"And now... let’s welcome to the stage.... the brand that’s about to change everything you thought you knew about building." Jeremiah brow twitched. On stage?
The announcer paused for effect, dropped the mic and clapped making everyone participate even Samuel and Jeremiah found theirselves clapping.
Everyone wants to be on good book with whoever these was. They all were people pleaser.
"M...... S........S."
"..........." Jaw dropped.
Samuel’s hands that was applauding seconds ago was frozen in place.
The room turned towards the only MSS they knew.
Stefan and Mia rose slowly from their seats. Calm. Confident.
He held her hand while she lifted her chin. They walked forward, step by step, toward the stage.
Jeremiah raised a brow in confusion. Maybe it was just a coincidence, he thought, but the gasp of people brought him down from whatever misguided conclusion he was drawing.
When he looked up, he was shocked by what he was witnessing.
On the stage behind Mia and Stefan, the grand screen came alive again... no longer plain, no longer a mystery.
The name now shimmered in silver and gold:
MSS World
Meyer Stefan Sterling World
The Future Is Now
The entire room froze. Phones dropped. Mouths opened.
Samuel looked like he’d swallowed glass.
Jeremiah blinked like he’d seen a ghost. What was happening?
Annabelle? Her hand was still halfway to her wine glass, completely frozen in place.
She thought they succeeded in creating a rift between them. So what’s going on?
Why are they standing there looking at each other with so much love. And even building something so.... unique together.
Cassandra sat there boiling with fire. That little vixen. She had always known that....that brat was trouble.
But Samuel doesn’t ever listen to anything she says. They wouldn’t have been here if he does.
Why was that brat after her son’s position? As she couldn’t get to rule Mayers empire, she decides to start her own.
Just for what? To detrone her son? She doesn’t want to see Ethan at the top? Was it Ethan’s fault Samuel wanted a male child to rule his empire?
She turned to Samuel, her brows pulled down together. "Baby, what going on?" She inquired like it wasn’t the both of them that left their home together.
"Cassandra. Behave yourself. And release that your face. Do not disgrace me." He scolded her.
Cassandra never expected Samuel to speak to her that way. She turned her face sucking.
Unknown to her someone had secretly captured her face and posted with a catchy headline.
"Are the Meyers threatened by their own child?"
Another person posted Mia and Stefan on stage and captioned it
"The rejected stone, now????"
The Internet was on fire. Everyone wanted to be the first to post about the events.
Samuel watched with an intense gaze as Mia stepped on the stage. His breathing shallowed but he raised his head up and placed a practice smile on his face.
Then his hands instinctively gave out a round of applause.
He wasn’t going to lose his control, not here.
Mia looked at his hands, a smile appearing on her face.
She remembered her birthday celebration, how she’d also clapped and smiled.... even though it was the last thing on her mind then.
