The Speedrun Manual of Miss Witch-Chapter 150 - Tara’s Dream Space and the Society of Merriment (1/4)
Berren City, Sir’s Bridge District No. 5, August 1st, 04:31.
“Have you memorized your target’s information, Merritt?”
A gentle male voice sounded, breaking the silence within the manor.
In the manor’s collection room, the vast space was almost entirely filled with various art collectibles and hunting trophies. Among them, a painting frame wrapped in silk cloth was placed right in the center, extremely conspicuous.
Suddenly called by name, a light brown-haired young girl looked up somewhat flusteredly at the man in the trench coat, replying, “Yes... yes, I have memorized it all.”
“Mary will assist you in constructing the dream and characters, and you will maintain it,” the man reached out and patted the young girl’s shoulder, asking, “You remember your mission, right.”
“Yes, I just need to maintain the dream characters’ behavioral logic from collapsing, and try my best to hold back that archbishop.” Merritt nodded repeatedly.
“You are a talented person. This is your first mission for the organization. Don’t be too nervous.” The man wore a black mask, making his expression unreadable. At this moment, he nodded slightly, seemingly giving some confidence to the person opposite.
“I understand, I will do my best.” Merritt’s cheeks flushed slightly.
The man had already turned and left. Watching the man’s back, the young girl’s heart seemed to stir slightly.
A gentle, strong, and reliable captain. Who wouldn’t be moved upon seeing such a man?
“Don’t know what kind of madness these cultists are up to. Looking at this situation, they seem intent on turning the entire Berren City upside down... The mission originally planned for half a month later now requires working overtime.” On the side, the woman named Mary complained.
“Isn’t it normal for cultists to be mad?” From behind a drawing board, a short dark brown-haired man poked his head out, smiling, “If they weren’t mad, the subsequent events wouldn’t be interesting.”
“But madness needs logic,” Mary frowned slightly, “Miracle? Divine oracle? They didn’t even add fuel to the fire to keep the Church of the Savior Goddess on the stake, instead they jumped out to share the firepower.”
“What does that matter,” the painter shrugged, saying indifferently, “Anyway, from the perspective of those above, there’s no difference between the Church of the Savior Goddess and the Divine Advent Church; both are targets to be suppressed.”
“Then are they trying to show goodwill, to unite?” Mary lowered her head, playing with the light orb in her hand, pondering.
If Ciel saw this scene, she would definitely find the light orb in her hand familiar—it was an illusionary light orb composed of blue, white, and orange, but the blue proportion was higher.
“Hahaha!” This sentence seemed to amuse the painter. He completely put down the paintbrush in his hand and said, “A month ago, the Divine Advent Church had over a hundred people wiped out. Do you think those cultists are thinking about uniting instead of revenge?”
Saying this, the man sneered, “They’ll probably have to wait until that goddess of theirs descends before they can unite like you said.”
“True.” Mary shook her head, smiling helplessly herself.
She was indeed overthinking.
Previously, the Church of the Savior Goddess was overwhelmed by the North Ansu epidemic, could only send a Tier 2 to oversee things in Berren City, resulting in almost all believers in the entire Berren City being killed by a Tier 3 “Source of Cholera.” This was still the Divine Advent Church’s doing behind the scenes.
When she heard this information before, Mary wasn’t even too surprised. After all, this was the norm for these two churches.
But then again... what exactly does the Divine Advent Church want to do this time?
If they were trying to help the Church of the Savior Goddess with the investigation, it didn’t explain why they severely injured a Tier 3 from the Church of the Savior Goddess and even captured a Tier 2 alive.
And then there was the new leader of the Divine Advent Church... She could understand the archbishop being Tier 2; after all, this tier wasn’t based on strength, but could be advanced through theology.
But that new leader was actually a young girl who had just stepped into the transcendent realm. She even commanded other Tier 2 and 3 cultists before she was a transcendent.
What is this girl’s background?
But everything will soon be revealed.
Merritt, who was still sitting on the stool, eyes closed and head lowered, carefully planning what to do next, spoke at this moment.
“Arrived.”
“Where’s the boss?”
“Should have already infiltrated their side... Signal sent, prepare.”
“Merritt, remember, hold back that archbishop, don’t let her realize. She’s just a Tier 2 ‘Missionary’, no need to worry too much, understood?”
“Okay.”
Mary and Merritt almost simultaneously raised their hands, holding up the light orbs in their hands, then gradually releasing them.
Two different light orbs slowly merged into their brows. The darkness before the eyes of the two closed-eyed individuals was covered by intense light spots. Their bodies slumped down, one propped on the table before her, the other lying on the floor.
The remaining painter, seeing this scene, seemed to gain some inspiration again, continued sitting behind the drawing board, drawing with single-minded focus.
Meanwhile, in the dream.
Is this the dream constructed by Miss Mary... So real...
Merritt slowly stood up from her seat.
Around her was still the manor’s collection room, but at this moment, the other two transcendents were no longer around; only she remained alone.
She pulled out a small notebook from her chest pocket and opened it directly.
This was her spiritual note.
At this moment, the originally clear handwriting in the notebook became distorted and blurred, meaning she had successfully entered the dream.
She quickly walked to the window, looked at the two people leading the group inside, her gaze fixed on the shorter figure, taking a deep breath.
Must hold her back...
