The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 241: Thinks He’s Crazy
He couldn’t imagine Holly Sawyer, a girl like her, having a boyfriend one day, and she’d even be a model of obedience.
Really, it was quite surprising.
It was pretty astonishing.
"From now on, leave the fighting to me. Fighting makes your hands hurt and you might get injured."
Leo Grant glanced sideways at Holly Sawyer and said slowly, his voice gentle.
The young girl’s hands were fair and tender, soft and delicate; they should be well taken care of, not used for fighting.
Holly Sawyer nodded, "Okay."
She spoke earnestly, her tone sounding soft.
Alright then, from now on she would just watch the show, sitting quietly, munching on sunflower seeds. That seemed like a form of enjoyment too.
"From now on, whenever you see me, please take a detour. Thank you. Also, stay away from the people around me. I’m very protective, and I believe you know that quite well."
Holly Sawyer slightly curved her lips, looking at Vincent Hughes and the others, speaking coldly.
Indeed, she was very protective.
Whenever conflicts arose between two groups, it didn’t matter who initially caused the dispute. As long as someone she cared about got hurt, others were to blame.
"It was Cecilia Bennett who started the trouble. She was the one who began fighting first; by principle, she was the one at fault. We were just defending ourselves."
Vincent Hughes rubbed his cheeks slightly and spoke slowly, his eyes intensely focused on Holly Sawyer.
Arkenfall is large, but meeting someone in the same city is entirely normal. Nevertheless, nearly six years had passed, and they hadn’t encountered each other even once, which was quite peculiar.
It had been a long time since he had seen Holly Sawyer. Her appearance hadn’t changed much from before, except that she had become even more attractive.
Girls mature remarkably.
During her student years, Holly Sawyer was youthful and innocent. Now, having entered society, she had shed her schoolgirl innocence.
"Who was wrong doesn’t matter; what matters is that you hurt my people."
Holly Sawyer spoke coldly, her gaze towards Vincent Hughes was piercingly cold.
A few men from Vincent Hughes’s group:"..."
Wow, she’s exactly the same as she was back then.
Back in high school, Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett might have been inseparable, but there were a few others around her she got along well with; no one could touch them, either.
It didn’t matter who was wrong; Holly Sawyer would always seek retribution.
"Holly, it’s New Year’s Eve today, should we get going? Otherwise, the time will be wasted."
Vincent Hughes spoke softly.
Oh, she should have put herself together before coming to Holly Sawyer; that way, it would have gone unnoticed, and it would naturally have blown over.
But now, Holly Sawyer insisted on settling scores.
"Hmm, the New Year’s dinner isn’t ready yet."
Holly Sawyer yawned, flicked her phone screen on to check the time, and said slowly.
The ingredients were prepared, but the New Year’s dinner wasn’t cooked yet.
The day’s agenda was packed; after eating, they had fireworks to set off, staying here was indeed a bit of a waste of time.
"Shall we go back and cook?"
Leo Grant bowed his head and asked Holly Sawyer, his voice doting and gentle.
Holly Sawyer nodded, "Okay."
With that, she was about to leave.
"Holly, wait."
Vincent Hughes called out to her.
"What’s up?"
Holly Sawyer stopped but didn’t turn back.
"I want to talk to you."
Vincent Hughes took a deep breath and said slowly.
"Speak."
Holly Sawyer turned her head, coldly staring at Vincent Hughes.
"I want to talk to you alone."
Vincent Hughes glanced around at Leo Grant and Cecilia Bennett and said slowly.
"No need."
Holly Sawyer didn’t even bother raising her eyes, directly refusing.
"Is it because you’re afraid your boyfriend will mind?"
Vincent Hughes’s gaze fell on Leo Grant, and he asked slowly.
Leo Grant, dressed meticulously and strikingly handsome, Holly Sawyer might fear her boyfriend’s jealousy, after all.
Leo Grant seemed wealthy; a girl with a rich, handsome boyfriend would certainly tread carefully.
"Hold on a moment."
Holly Sawyer gently patted Leo Grant’s hand, indicating for him to wait aside.
Leo Grant nodded and instinctively left.
Cecilia Bennett, Noah Raines, and Nathaniel Shaw all followed him away.
"Speak."
Holly Sawyer folded her arms and looked at Vincent Hughes.
"Did you go to university later?"
Vincent Hughes asked.
The group that usually hung out together hadn’t attended university, ended up at colleges, and even then, they were quite wayward, eventually drifting into society.
"Yes, Arkenfall University."
Holly Sawyer’s expression was rather indifferent.
Vincent Hughes: "Quite impressive."
"If you have something to say, say it quickly. My time is precious."
Holly Sawyer glanced at the time; it was already close to two thirty. If she didn’t return to cook soon, they wouldn’t make it to eat by four.
After dinner, they still had fireworks to set off; how could time be wasted?
The answer was, of course, it couldn’t be.
"Of course, it’s to be with your boyfriend, huh."
Vincent Hughes’s tone carried a hint of sarcasm.
"What do you mean?"
Holly Sawyer looked up, coldly eyeing Vincent Hughes.
Mockery?
Hmm, Vincent Hughes’s words probably carried that underlying meaning.
"I mean, you women indeed like rich men. Now, you must all be thinking about how to please him."
In Vincent Hughes’s eyes, Holly Sawyer’s time-checking action seemed like it was time given to her by Leo Grant.
When someone’s mind is dirty, they view others as dirty too.
"Crazy."
Holly Sawyer shot Vincent Hughes a glare and was ready to turn around and leave.
To talk to her, was it just to say stuff like this?
It’s really irritating.
If he is that kind of person, does he naturally assume others are like him too?
The relationship between Vincent Hughes and Jane Coleman, those in the know are aware.
Jane Coleman came from a wealthy family and fancied Vincent Hughes, initially using money to target his heart.
At first, Vincent Hughes surely remained unmoved, but slowly he began to accept it.
They seemed to be together, but it also seemed they weren’t. Anyway, they were often together, but not very intimate physically.
"I like you."
Vincent Hughes suddenly shouted.
"Insane."
Holly Sawyer coldly threw back the words, not pausing her steps.
Liked her?
Vincent Hughes matches up?
"Holly Sawyer, I like you, I’ve liked you since high school."
Vincent Hughes continued shouting.
He liked Holly Sawyer; his heart was moved at first sight. He just never dared to express it, as Holly Sawyer was too aggressive. No one dared to reveal their feelings, including him.
"Oh, well, I know I’m very charming. Who would’ve imagined even scumbags could feel my charm."
Holly Sawyer halted, looked back at Vincent Hughes, and retorted coldly, her tone unpleasant.
Darn, Vincent Hughes liked her?
He thinks he matches up?
Of course, he doesn’t.
Vincent Hughes: "..."
Is this Holly Sawyer’s rightful attitude?
Someone liking her, shouldn’t she be happy? A normal person would be pleased, but Holly Sawyer’s reaction was completely off.
