The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 213: Only Out of Danger
After Holly Sawyer finished breakfast, Leo Grant went to work, and Holly drove to The Pantheon.
She always felt that yesterday’s events were a bit strange. Diana Curtis was in trouble, how could she sleep so peacefully?
Moreover, she actually went back home, which was very inappropriate; shouldn’t she be seeking revenge?
Holly pondered all the way but had no clue, she shook her head, her mind was blank, nothing was there.
"Boss..."
The gatekeepers saw Holly and were evidently a bit apprehensive, looking at Holly with anxious expressions.
Yesterday’s Holly was incredibly terrifying, and they were still somewhat panicked.
"Mm."
Holly nodded, stepping inside with a cold and indifferent tone, but the murderous aura and anger seemed diminished.
"Boss, you’re here."
Walter Bennett saw Holly, immediately flashed a smile, serving her tea and water.
If nothing unexpected happens, Holly should have forgotten yesterday’s events, right?
"How’s Diana Curtis?"
Holly went straight to the point; she was unclear about Diana’s specific condition yesterday, which was truly unusual.
She didn’t even know Diana’s situation; how could she sleep so soundly?
A bit suspicious.
"She’s past the critical stage but hasn’t woken up yet."
Looking at Holly’s calm gaze, Walter took a deep breath and slowly said.
Luckily, Holly returned to normal; Leo indeed had some effect.
Perhaps six years ago, Holly meeting Leo was already destined; after twists and turns, the two ended up together, this was probably fate.
"How did I get back yesterday?"
Holly sipped some tea, slowly began to inquire.
"You were drunk yesterday. We tried to stop you from going back, but you insisted on returning. We couldn’t stop you."
Walter lowered his eyes, speaking a bit remorsefully.
He had thought the phrasing out long ago, so there was no pressure in saying it now; he practiced plenty of times, making it seem natural now.
Getting drunk and not recalling yesterday’s events was indeed understandable and reasonable.
"Drunk?"
Holly frowned, she didn’t recall drinking yesterday, and if she was drunk, shouldn’t she feel a headache?
No reaction at all, a bit strange, but still plausible.
"Yeah, it’s easy to get drunk when something’s on your mind."
Walter stated, the look in his eyes was serious, seemingly without any falsehood.
Holly nodded in slight confusion, feeling half-convinced.
"Was there any action yesterday?"
The Pantheon people were bullied; naturally, they couldn’t stand idly by, something should have happened yesterday.
"Boss, didn’t you check the latest headlines?"
Yesterday’s large-scale massacre by The Pantheon had already made the headlines, a truly shocking scene.
However, the part where the Pantheon leader acted alone was unknown, people only knew the Pantheon avenged Diana Curtis, exterminating the dock people, leaving nobody behind.
The Pantheon’s authority returned, the deterrence further intensified, their status solidified again.
Initially, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to avenge Diana Curtis, but they intended to wait for her to pass the critical stage before seeking justice.
The Pantheon people were absolutely protective.
"Hmm?"
Holly looked puzzled, then opened her phone, indeed seeing the latest headlines, pinned at the top.
Large-scale actions by The Pantheon, a massive massacre, all just to avenge one person. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Take me to see Diana Curtis."
Holly put down the phone and looked at Walter Bennett, speaking in a calm tone.
Unsure of Diana Curtis’s current condition, uncertain if there’d be further incidents.
She was very concerned.
"Okay."
Walter nodded, then led Holly to see Diana Curtis.
Diana Curtis lay on the bed, her body covered in tubes, densely packed, looking quite terrifying, wearing an oxygen mask, her complexion pale.
Holly looked at Diana like that, her heart trembled, a flicker of sadness crossed her mind.
Such a lively and cheerful girl, now lying on the hospital bed, devoid of vitality, it truly stirred her emotions.
"She’s past the critical stage, next is to see when she’ll wake up."
Walter sighed and slowly said, his tone rather heavy.
"You go out first."
Holly waved her hand, slowly saying, feeling a heaviness in her heart.
Walter nodded and walked out, closing the door along.
Holly checked Diana Curtis’s pulse, her life force seemed quite weak, the pulse was beating but not strongly.
She knew medical skills, but she couldn’t heal Diana Curtis, a sense of helpless frustration washed over her.
She kept speaking to Diana, unsure if she was listening, there was no response.
As Holly was about to leave, the door was forcefully pushed open, the person exerting so much strength, the door seemed on the verge of collapse.
Tess Young stood at the doorway, panting, her face unexpectedly covered in sweat in the middle of winter, holding onto the door frame, her expression also frazzled.
"Boss..."
Upon seeing Holly, she greeted, her gaze fixated on Diana Curtis.
Her expression somewhat dazed, a bit frantic, slightly fearful, she bit her lip tightly, tears brimming in her eyes.
She hadn’t seen Diana seriously yet, but through the vague silhouette, she immediately panicked.
Fear lingered in her heart, causing significant distress.
"Come in and take a look, the critical stage is over."
Holly saw Tess and slowly spoke.
She understood Tess’s concerns, and knew Tess would definitely visit Diana.
"Okay."
Tess nodded, her eyes red, voice slightly trembling.
"You talk to her, I’ll step out."
Holly let Tess take her place and then walked out.
Tess had been on a mission in Bexley recently, hearing news about Diana, her heart leaped into her throat, she hurried over.
She wanted to throw aside her task, but circumstances didn’t allow her to be so reckless; she handed over the task to someone else, booked the fastest flight to Arkenfall.
She was constantly terrified, fearing something happened to Diana, always uneasy, unable to use her phone on the plane, unable to receive any information.
She was anxious, scared, terrified...
Seeing Diana’s pale face, her body filled with tubes, Tess’s tears fell instantly, uncontrollably.
"How long have we not seen each other, and you’re like this?"
"Wake up, please. I won’t tease you anymore, won’t mock you, will talk nicely with you."
"..."
Tess sat next to Diana, speaking word by word, the tone was filled with sincerity.
