The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 20 - 0 Is a Foodie
"Brother, you’re so early."
Holly grinned at Leo Grant, her smile full of innocent charm.
"I’m worried you might not adapt well at school."
Leo Grant also smiled a bit, walked in, and gently ruffled Holly’s hair.
It was Holly’s first day at school since she lost her memory, and he was anxious, worried she might not adapt well.
Holly was so timid, what if she got scared?
"No, the classmates were so enthusiastic, it actually made me feel a bit scared."
Holly lightly bit her lip as she spoke, her eyes reflecting a hint of fear.
"Huh? What’s going on?"
Leo Grant was taken aback and looked at Holly seriously as he asked.
"It’s just that they..."
Holly lowered her head, looking particularly conflicted, her eyes filled with a touch of grievance as she recounted everything that happened today.
"It’s okay, it’s just that our Holly is too sweet and lovable, the classmates all really like you. But, Holly should learn to keep some distance from them."
Leo Grant ruffled Holly’s hair again, speaking softly.
For some reason, knowing Holly was very popular, he felt a bit blocked inside, not very comfortable, though he couldn’t quite put a finger on the feeling.
Holly nodded as if she understood, looking somewhat dazed.
"Brother, I want to eat some kebabs."
The aroma of kebabs was quite strong, enticing as it wafted from the hands of returning students, causing Holly to swallow slightly as she spoke.
She blinked her eyes, lightly tugging at Leo Grant’s clothes, looking quite expectant.
"Alright, there’s a snack street across the way. I’ll take you there."
Leo Grant laughed softly, leading Holly to the snack street across.
The snack street had a variety of snacks, with enticing aromas filling the air, making it a favorite spot for Veridian students.
"Brother, I want this, this, and this."
Stopping in front of the kebab stall, Holly nearly ordered one of every kind, her face overflowing with a satisfied smile as she gestured excitedly.
Holly was quite interested in food, a proper foodie.
Seeing Holly so happy, Leo Grant also smiled.
She was really easy to please, especially passionate about food, clearly someone who could be easily coaxed.
"Brother, what would you like to eat?"
After a while, Holly turned to Leo Grant asking.
"Brother won’t eat."
Leo Grant shook his head, speaking. Holly was genuinely a foodie, ordering so much that he initially thought she ordered some for him too, but clearly not.
"Little girl eats so much?"
The old vendor skillfully grilled the kebabs while half-jokingly speaking.
Holly had ordered a lot, counting them out, nearly thirty skewers, thinking it was for the two of them, only to realize it was all for Holly.
"Not at all, I actually feel it’s a bit too little."
Holly blinked as she spoke, quite serious.
Her appetite was quite large; she could easily eat other things after finishing these kebabs without any burden.
Diana Curtis and her friends had purchased other snacks and then were drawn over to the old vendor’s barbecue, and thus bumped into Holly.
"Hey, lo... Sawyer."
Diana Curtis chuckled two times, greeting Holly.
Originally wanting to say ’elder’, she swallowed back the term as Leo Grant was present.
"Such a coincidence."
Holly smiled, greeting Diana Curtis.
"Brother, this is my classmate Diana Curtis, we just met today."
Holly happily introduced them to Leo Grant, her voice soft and sweet.
Diana Curtis: "..."
Her heart felt overwhelmed, seeing Holly speak so sweetly to Leo Grant, causing Diana’s mouth to twitch slightly.
Such sweetness, this voice.
"Hello, please do take good care of our Holly."
Leo Grant spoke softly, his tone calm.
’Our Holly?’
"Sawyer is so cute, caring for her is only right."
Diana Curtis barely maintained her smile, but inwardly, she was quite flustered.
She only wanted to say ’ha ha’, Holly indeed...
The patriarch from her home, she dared not make any comments.
"Little girl, your kebabs are ready."
The old vendor packed and handed Holly the kebabs.
"Thank you."
Holly beamed, her mood particularly good as she took the kebabs, and after Leo Grant paid, they left.
She contentedly ate the kebabs, bidding farewell to Diana Curtis.
Diana Curtis: "..."
Indeed, regardless of circumstances, it couldn’t change the fact that Holly was a genuine foodie.
Talking about how she met Holly was quite dramatic, the Quinn Family in Bexley being quite well-off, her dad finding her a stepmother who brought along a sister two months younger.
Her sister felt that Diana Curtis was superior in every way, plotting against Diana Curtis, only for Holly to accidentally save her and help her.
Diana Curtis later joined The Pantheon, whose members were mostly scattered, living in their cities, leading lives like regular people, yet gathering for missions when necessary.
"Brother, aren’t you eating?"
Holly was deeply engrossed in her kebabs, walking while eating, her face immensely satisfied.
After finishing a skewer, she looked up at Leo Grant asking.
Leo Grant’s gaze had constantly been on her.
"Holly eats by herself, Brother doesn’t eat."
Leo Grant shook his head, watching the little girl eat so joyfully, feeling a pleasant mood himself.
"Mm-hmm."
Holly nodded, continuing to eat her snacks.
"Little glutton."
Leo Grant watched Holly eating, casually remarking.
The girl was really easy to please. It’s unknown what sort of environment she grew up in, perhaps surrounded by parental affection?
"Brother, have a taste, it’s delicious."
Holly handed a beef skewer to Leo Grant, speaking softly, her eyes filled with anticipation.
"Alright."
Despite initially refusing, when faced with her expectant look, Leo Grant couldn’t bring himself to reject.
Growing up, he had always enjoyed luxury, with meals being balanced nutritional arrangements, seldom indulging in street food, especially greasy and smoky barbecue.
Nonetheless, he didn’t mind street snacks; he just rarely ate them, as most meals were nutritionally coordinated.
"Is it tasty?"
Watching Leo Grant finish the kebab, Holly asked.
"Yeah, it’s good."
Leo Grant nodded, admitting the taste was indeed nice, the old vendor’s skills proving excellent.
