Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Going Public with the Relationship

The afternoon passed silently, with Holly Sawyer accompanying Elder Grant. Meanwhile, Leo was outside greeting the guests, fulfilling his duties alone.

"Do you know about tea?"

Holly made a pot of tea for several old men and poured it for them one by one.

After Elder Grant took a sip of the tea Holly made and saw her skilled actions, he slowly started to inquire.

The tea she made tasted very good. Making tea has its own set of rules; it’s not something that can be done casually, and there are steps to follow.

Only someone who understands tea can make it taste good; someone who doesn’t will lack a certain elegance in the flavor.

"I know a little bit,"

Holly nodded and replied.

She learned it as an elective in university. She didn’t know much, just a bit. She understood the basic etiquette and techniques of tea-making.

"Your skills are quite proficient,"

Old Man Raines remarked, a look of admiration in his eyes as he observed Holly.

Nowadays, it’s rare for young people to understand tea, and even fewer pay attention to the etiquette of tea ceremonies.

Holly answered, "I took it as an elective in university."

She hadn’t studied it very diligently; she chose the tea ceremony class mainly because it required fewer credits and didn’t interest her much.

"So, the young lady has graduated from university. I thought Leo had brought back a minor,"

Old Man Raines laughed, with a hint of surprise in his gaze toward Holly.

Holly looked very young, more like a child than an adult.

Leo, having been in the professional world for many years, exuded maturity and steadiness. Standing next to Holly, the age difference was evident.

"I just look young,"

Holly smiled lightly as she spoke.

There was nothing she could do about having such a youthful face, though she wished otherwise.

Everywhere she went, people mistook her for a kid or a minor, often stopping her from entering internet cafes or bars, claiming minors weren’t allowed.

It was quite challenging, but there was nothing she could do.

After some casual conversation, the topics came to an end.

It quickly became dinner time, and after dinner, it was time to cut the cake.

A group brought out a large cake, and Holly stood beside Leo, who held her hand tightly.

Lighting candles, making wishes, blowing out candles...

Not a single part of the ceremony was omitted.

"Thank you all for coming to celebrate my grandson Leo’s 23rd birthday. I’m sure you all know what today signifies."

"As the old man of the family, I’ll be straightforward: The Grant Family will be inherited by Leo in the future. Today is the day I announce the heir." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Today is my grandson’s birthday, and I’m taking this opportunity to make it clear."

"..."

Elder Grant held the microphone, and his voice was particularly strong, his tone earnest as he made the announcement.

The crowd murmured amongst themselves, but they all understood without needing to be told.

Leo held Holly’s hand tightly, not letting go even when Elder Grant handed him the microphone.

"I’m Leo Grant. Please take care of me from now on,"

Leo introduced himself, his tone calm.

"Brother, let go,"

Holly whispered softly.

A multitude of eyes were fixated on her, making her feel uncomfortable.

Some were scrutinizing, some questioning, some curious, some friendly...

The looks were varied.

"This is my girlfriend, Holly Sawyer, who will also be my wife in the future."

"I am formally introducing her to everyone here. I love her deeply and will not accept your doubts."

Leo spoke into the microphone with a powerful and sincere voice.

He turned to look at Holly, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Yes, when looking at the girl he loved, it was only natural for his gaze to be tender.

The audience collectively gasped.

Leo was too ostentatious; some people were jealous, while others were envious.

"So envious, this must be love, right?"

"I thought this kind of love only existed in TV dramas. I didn’t expect it to be real."

"Such a beautiful love. I want a boyfriend like that too."

"Wake up, stop dreaming."

"That girl doesn’t have any special status, does she? Did she just get lucky?"

"As expected, pretty girls always seem to have the best luck."

"..."

Leo and Holly’s love was too intense. When they looked at each other, all they saw was each other.

Time slipped by quickly; Leo was busy entertaining guests inside, while Holly stepped outside for some air.

She found the atmosphere inside a bit oppressive and didn’t like the way people looked at her.

"You and Leo seem to have a great relationship,"

At some point, Sean Grant had come up beside Holly, hands in his pockets, speaking softly.

He looked straight ahead without glancing at Holly.

"So are you jealous of our relationship?"

Holly sneered, turning to look at Sean, her tone not very pleasant.

Sean had initially been scheming against Leo but suddenly started helping him instead.

Holly didn’t know the reason and didn’t want to.

But she understood clearly that Leo held a place in Sean’s heart as well.

Sean replied, "No."

Holly said nothing, nor did she look at Sean.

"I’m curious about your identity,"

Sean turned to look at Holly, slowly inquiring.

Holly was far from simple. He had known that from the beginning, but he couldn’t uncover her background.

"Curiosity isn’t always a good thing,"

Holly yawned, speaking lightly.

She never thought curiosity was a good trait.

Besides her close ones, those who knew her identity had all gone to the grave, without exception.

"I know."

"I just think that as long as you’re by Leo’s side, he’ll always be fine."

Sean gazed into the distance, his eyes somewhat unfocused, lost in thought.

"Growing old together is a certainty for us,"

Holly didn’t want to converse any longer with Sean; she turned and walked back inside.

Engaging with Sean wasn’t even worth her interest.

"You and Leo are a great match,"

Sean remarked as he looked at Holly’s back, suddenly voicing his thought.

Holly paused briefly, then continued walking.

She quite liked Sean’s comment, regardless of whether it was meant as praise or criticism; she chose to take it as praise.

"It’s so cold outside, did you get cold?"

Leo held a scarf in his hands, hurrying to wrap it around Holly when he saw her.

Holly had been outside for quite a while. He worried she’d catch cold and was just about to take the scarf out to find her.
