The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 150: Hoping for Sweet Love
She wanted to tell Leo Grant that she only liked this jade bracelet, she didn’t like other jade bracelets.
"Then keep it."
Leo was silent for a long time, his large hand landed on Holly Sawyer’s head, his voice gentle.
The little girl likes it, so let her keep it.
"Brother, he’s not as bad as you think."
Holly threw herself into Leo Grant’s arms, burying her head in his chest, her tone soft and gentle.
The past is gone, it can be let go, there’s no need to hold on stubbornly.
Leo Grant remained silent.
He didn’t know what to say, having not been close to his father since childhood, his impression of his father was only of being busy with work and strictness.
Besides his grandfather, he seemed to have never felt love growing up.
He had a particularly good relationship with Sean Grant when they were young; Sean would follow behind him calling him brother, comfort him when he was sad, help him when he was in trouble. Their relationship had always been good.
So, he cherished this brotherly bond immensely, even knowing that Sean had wronged him, he wanted to delude himself.
He hoped Sean would understand that he didn’t fail to understand, but rather didn’t want to, but Sean seemed never to have realized this.
"Now you have me, you’ll be happy from now on."
Holly reached out and grabbed Leo Grant’s hand, her smile especially bright.
Leo Grant: "Mm."
"You’re harboring resentment, I almost didn’t dare accept it."
Holly looked at the bracelet, sighed softly, and said.
She didn’t really like the bracelet that much either, she just wanted to mend Leo Grant’s relationship with his father.
"I don’t."
Leo Grant shook his head, gently ruffling Holly’s hair.
The little girl hoped he would let go, so he would.
The little girl’s happiness was what mattered.
"Then, you can’t lie to me."
Holly blinked, her eyes filled with a smile.
Leo Grant: "I won’t lie to you."
He could lie to the whole world, but he wouldn’t lie to Holly, he never lied to her.
Either he wouldn’t speak, or if he did, it would be the truth.
"Brother, you’re really great."
The little girl’s eyes were full of smiles, like a blooming flower, radiantly charming.
She truly felt it was lucky to have met Leo Grant, as if it was arranged by the heavens.
It was destiny.
"Only for you."
Leo Grant looked at Holly with gentle eyes, his little girl was so adorable, of course, he had to be good to her.
——
Short days always pass quickly, in a blink, Holly Sawyer was leaving Bexley; she’d almost indulged herself in all the food Bexley had to offer.
In the café, Nancy Miller tightly gripped her cup, looking at Holly, wanting to speak but stopping, her brow betraying her deep sadness.
She was reluctant to see Holly go, yet Nancy was also acutely aware that Arkenfall was Holly’s true home, Bexley was merely the place of her birth.
"Cheer up."
Holly pushed the cappuccino the waiter had just brought over to Nancy, her voice soft.
No banquet lasts forever, eventually, people will leave and others will fill their place; sometimes temporary goodbyes lead to better reunions.
"I’ll try."
Nancy gently bit her lip, her voice was notably gentle.
She wanted to be happy, to smile, but she just couldn’t do it.
Holly was her sister, her best friend too, the thought of Holly leaving made her genuinely sad.
"We’ll see each other again, you have to strive twice as hard for your dreams."
Holly reached out and held Nancy’s hand, her lips curling gently, her voice warm.
They would meet again.
The people you want to see, even if across mountains and waters, you’ll go to see; with today’s transport so advanced, there’s no issue of not meeting again in the future.
It just wouldn’t be as frequent.
"Okay."
"Wishing you and Young Master Grant long-lasting happiness."
"The platform in Arkenfall is broader than in Bexley, I will strive to develop towards Arkenfall in the future."
Nancy took a sip of the cappuccino, speaking slowly.
She had an obsession with dance, she loved dancing dearly, she wanted to stand on a high stage and be remembered by people.
Now she was striving bit by bit, climbing up slowly.
She knew Holly was amazing, but she didn’t want to rely on her, she wanted to work hard herself, striving to reach a higher place.
Holly nodded: "Okay."
"By the way, what do you think of Noah Raines?"
Suddenly something seemed to occur to Holly, and she asked casually.
"Oh, he’s pretty good."
Nancy didn’t know why Holly suddenly brought up Noah, she was initially puzzled, then replied.
Noah seemed boisterous and unreliable, but in reality, he was very dependable.
She’d been seeing Noah a lot recently, not sure if it was coincidence or what.
He was quite considerate too, offering her much help; she had a pretty good impression of him.
"Do you think he’s suitable for dating?"
Holly lowered her head, inquiring seemingly out of curiosity, her tone indifferent, free of superfluous emotion.
Nancy shook her head: "I don’t know."
Holly’s question was quite strange indeed.
Holly didn’t ask more but swiftly changed the topic, "Keep an eye on this little shop for me."
Holly placed a bunch of keys in front of Nancy, a soft smile on her lips.
"Huh?"
Nancy was a bit baffled, not quite understanding Holly’s intentions.
Holly said: "I won’t be in Bexley, so keep an eye on the shop for me."
"This is the shop Young Master Grant gave you, right?"
Nancy could immediately see where the keys were from; it was the dessert shop Leo Grant had gifted to Holly where everything was peach oolong flavored.
Leo really knew how to cater to her tastes, grasping what Holly loved most; it was probably a kind of favoritism.
Nancy was quite envious.
Though she didn’t have many thoughts about love, it didn’t stop her from envying others’ love.
Holly nodded: "Mm."
Speaking of Leo, her smile was always exceptionally sweet, the kind of smile one has when they like someone.
"Remember to ask me to be a bridesmaid when you get married; I’ve reserved the position."
Nancy took the keys, her gaze fixed intently on Holly.
She wanted to reserve this role; she wanted to witness Holly’s happiness.
Sometimes love isn’t indestructible, Leo Grant and Holly were so sweet from the start, she hoped they would remain that way.
Holly nodded: "Okay."
This request she certainly wouldn’t refuse.
"I hope you two can always be that sweet."
Nancy took a box of candies from her bag, handing it to Holly, speaking slowly.
She hoped Leo and Holly’s love could be like candies, sweet from start to finish, from the mouth to the heart.
Because sometimes the sweeter the love is at the beginning, the more bitter it might become afterward, no one can predict the ending, after all.
