Chapter 31: Mine

"Get off!" he roared, his voice resounding through the silent room.

He shoved her away with enough force that she tumbled back toward the edge of the mattress. Sofia’s eyes flew open, wide and filled with instant terror as she scrambled to sit up, her breathing coming in frantic gasps. She looked disoriented, her hair a wild mess, her hand still tingling from the heat of him.

"What—" she stammered, her face turning a deep, humiliated crimson as the memories of her dream started to collide with the cold reality of Damien’s shaking, enraged form standing over her.

The dream. Did I say it out loud? Please, God, tell me I didn’t say his name.

Damien stood by the bed, his chest heaving, his hand hovering over his groin. His eyes were cold enough to draw blood.

Confused, Sofia stared around, realizing she was seated on Damien’s bed, but before she could put the pieces of how she got there together, Damien yanked her out of the bed and slammed her against the wall.

His face was inches from hers, his breath hot and smelling of the dark fury that had consumed him.

"So," he hissed, his voice a jagged edge of jealousy, "you’re having wet dreams about my Beta, huh? Am I not enough for you, Sofia? Even in your sleep, you crave him?"

Sofia shook her head frantically, tears springing to her eyes. She was utterly lost, her mind a blur of sleep and terror. She didn’t understand why the name Matthew had escaped her lips or why her subconscious had betrayed her so cruelly.

No. The word died in her throat. She wanted to lie, to tell him he was wrong, but the guilt was written in the flush of her skin. How could my own mind betray me like this? I’m terrified of him, yet my subconscious is looking for an escape in the arms of his best friend.

"No, Damien, please—I don’t—I didn’t mean—"

"Shut up!" he roared, the sound vibrating through her very bones. "I will fuck you until you forget his name. I will fuck you until you can never think about another man as long as you breathe."

Before she could utter another word, he spun her around with brutal efficiency, slamming her chest and palms against the wall. Sofia let out a sharp gasp as the cold stone bit into her skin. She heard the violent rip of fabric as he tore the shirt upward, baring her soft, plus-sized curves to the harsh morning light.

Damien’s eyes darkened to a terrifying shade of amber as he looked at the expanse of her back, the curve of her waist, and the heavy swell of her hips. He was blinded by a possessive rage that demanded he mark her, claim her, and erase every trace of anyone else from her mind.

He freed himself from his trousers, his cock throbbing and hard with a lethal combination of lust and anger. Grabbing her hip with a bruising grip to hold her in place, he guided himself to her entrance and slid inside her with one powerful thrust.

Sofia gasped, her head snapping back as the sheer impact of him filled her completely. Her eyes squeezed shut, and she gripped the uneven stone. It was too much—the heat, the size, the raw territorial power he was forcing into her.

Damien didn’t stop. He began to thrust with a jealous, possessive rhythm, his body hitting hers with a wet, rhythmic thud. Each movement was a claim. Each groan he let out against the nape of her neck was a warning. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling her scent even as he treated her with a coldness that broke her heart.

"You are mine," he growled against her skin, his teeth grazing her shoulder. "Say it. Tell me who you belong to."

"I’m yours," Sofia sobbed out, the words broken and breathless as she clung to the rough stones of the wall. "I’m yours, Damien."

The sound of his name on her lips, paired with that admission, snapped something deep inside him. He didn’t want her facing the wall anymore; he needed to see the wreckage of her composure. With his inhuman strength, he grabbed her by the waist and spun her around, lifting her effortlessly as if she weighed nothing at all.

Sofia let out a startled cry, her legs instinctively wrapping around his powerful torso to keep from falling. Her back hit the wall with a dull thud, and he used his body to pin her there, his cock sliding back into her with a depth that made her head loll back.

When she opened her eyes, she found him staring back. They were no longer just cold amber; they were burning with a dark, tortured intensity. He knew she hated him for what he had become, for the way he treated her, but as he moved inside her—harder, deeper, more rhythmic—he saw the truth in the way her pupils dilated. She couldn’t deny the pleasure his body gave hers.

Then, driven by a desperate hunger he hadn’t planned for, Damien leaned in and crashed his lips against hers.

Sofia froze, her heart stopping for a beat. This wasn’t the act of a master punishing a slave; this was a kiss—possessive, bruising, and hungry. After a moment of shock, the heat of him won her over. She moaned into his mouth, her lips parting to grant him access, her tongue tangling with his as the kiss deepened into something primal.

He’s jealous, she thought, a dizzying realization hitting her as their tongues clashed. The powerful, terrifying Damien is scared of a ghost in my head.

The pace of his thrusts became frantic. Sofia’s moans turned into sharp, pleasurable cries that he swallowed hungrily. He loved the sound of her breaking for him. Somewhere in the haze of his rage, the desire to hurt her had vanished, replaced by a desperate need to make her feel pleasure.

This was no longer a punishment.

Damien reached down between their sweating bodies, his large hand finding the sensitive peak of her clitoris. As he continued to drive into her with relentless force, his thumb began to move in a fast, expert rhythm against her.

Sofia’s world shattered. Her back arched off the wall, her fingers digging into his shoulders as her cries became wilder, louder, echoing off the high ceilings of the chamber. It was too much—the fullness of him, the friction of his hand, and the overwhelming heat of his gaze.

"You love that, don’t you?" Damien groaned against her lips, his voice thick with a mixture of triumph and agony.

"Yes!" she gasped, her head thrashing from side to side. "Yes... it feels so good... Damien, please..."

"Forget his name," he growled, his pace reaching a fever pitch. "Forget everyone but me."
