The Scorned Luna-Chapter 120: Stranger At My Door
An unmated wolf a few doors away from Sofia’s apartment was about to step inside his own when a scent stopped him cold.
It was the most intoxicating scent he had ever smelled.
His wolf stirred immediately.
"An unmated she-wolf... in heat," his wolf purred.
Without hesitation, the man turned and marched down the hallway until he reached Sofia’s door.
He began knocking.
Hard.
"I know you’re in there, little wolf!" the man shouted. His voice was thick with a dark, hungry need. "I can smell your fever through the walls. You can’t hide that scent. Just open the door, and the pain will go away. I’ll make it stop for you!"
Each loud thud made Sofia’s heart race. Her body was burning, and her skin felt too sensitive for the air in the room. Sofia curled into a tight ball on the rug. Her body felt like it was melting. Between her legs, a deep, pulsing ache made her gasp. She was so wet that she could feel the slickness coating her thighs. Every part of her body wanted to crawl to that door and let him in just to make the stinging heat stop, but her mind screamed in protest.
Damien..." she finally called out through the mind link. Her mental voice was weak and shaky. "Please... are you there? I feel restless. I feel like I’m dying."
On the other side of the territory, Damien froze. He felt a sharp tug at his heart—a pull so strong it nearly knocked him off his feet.
"Sofia? Is that you?" Damien’s voice roared back in her head. He sounded confused and worried. "What’s wrong? I can feel your heart racing. My wolf is going crazy... I feel like I need to be with you right now."
"I’m not okay..." Sofia choked out, a sob escaping her lips. "Damien... I’m in heat. The fire is too much. And someone... someone is banging at my door. He wants to come in."
"Heat?" Damien’s mental voice turned into a growl of pure fury. "Where are you? What door? Tell me right now, Sofia!"
"Alaric... he got me a new apartment," Sofia whispered, her fingers digging into the carpet. She managed to tell him the address, her voice breaking as the man outside hit the door again.
"Don’t you dare open that door!" Damien roared. Sofia could hear the sound of a car engine screaming as he floored it. "Do not open it for anyone! I am on my way. I will kill anyone who tries to touch you. Stay in the mind link with me. Don’t let go of my voice!"
The stranger outside didn’t stop. He threw his shoulder against the wood with a loud thud.
"Your wolf is crying for a male, sweetheart. I can hear it in your scent. Why suffer alone in there? Let me in."
Sofia’s pussy clenched painfully at his words. Her white wolf was pacing inside her mind, restless and hungry. "He is right," her wolf whispered. "The fire is too much. We need a mate. We need him."
"No!" Sofia cried out loud. She stayed naked on the floor, her body trembling with fear and desire. Even though she was turned on by the man’s words, she forced herself to think of Damien.
"I’m coming, baby," Damien’s voice surged back, trying to stay calm for her. "I’m turning onto the main road now. I can smell you... Goddess, even from here, your scent is pulling at my soul. It’s roses and pearls. It’s beautiful. Just hold on for me."
The banging on the door became louder, shaking the heavy wood. The stranger outside sounded desperate, his voice thick with a dark, primal need.
"You can’t hide from me. Your heat is filling the entire floor. Every male in this building will smell you soon. I’m the first one here... be smart and open the door."
Sofia curled into a tighter ball on the rug, her skin burning against the fabric. Her body felt like it was melting. Between her legs, a deep, pulsing ache made her gasp, and she could feel the slickness of her arousal coating her thighs. Every part of her wanted to crawl to that door and let him in, but her mind screamed in protest.
"Damien..." she called out through the mind link, her mental voice weak and shaky. "Please hurry. He’s going to break the door. I can’t... I can’t stop my body from wanting him."
"I’m coming, Sofia! Hold on!" Damien’s voice roared back in her head. He sounded furious, his Alpha energy surging through the link to give her strength. "I’m driving as fast as I can. Do not let that animal touch you. If he lays a finger on you, I will tear his throat out myself!"
"Stay with me," Sofia choked out, her fingers digging into the carpet. "Talk to me. Don’t leave the link."
"I’m here, baby. I’m right here," Damien whispered, trying to calm her even as she heard his tires screeching in the background. "Focus on my voice. Think about me, not that man at the door. I’m almost there."
But the stranger wasn’t giving up. He threw his shoulder against the door with a loud thud.
"I can smell how wet you are, sweetheart!" the man groaned. "You’re suffering for nothing. Your wolf wants me. Let me help you."
Sofia’s pussy clenched painfully at his words. Her wolf was pacing inside her mind, restless and hungry. "He is right," her wolf whispered. "The fire is too much. We need relief."
"No!" Sofia cried out loud, her voice echoing in the empty penthouse. "Damien is coming. Damien is my mate!"
"That’s right, Sofia," Damien’s voice surged back, stronger now. "I’m the only one who belongs in that room with you. I’m entering the building now. I can smell you... Goddess, your scent is incredible. It’s filling the whole lobby."
Suddenly, the banging at the door stopped. There was a low growl from the hallway, followed by the sound of a heavy scuffle.
"Get away from her door," a new, cold voice commanded.
Sofia froze. That wasn’t Damien. That was Alaric.
The stranger in the hallway laughed nervously. "Back off, Alpha. She’s unbonded. She’s in heat. She’s fair game for any male who can reach her."
A sickening crack echoed through the door, followed by a scream of pain and the sound of a body being thrown against the elevator.
"She is mine," Alaric hissed, his voice sounding more beast than man.
Sofia shivered, her body reacting to Alaric’s powerful scent as it seeped under the door.
