The School Beauty's Super Rogue-Chapter 281 - 279 How Much Am I Worth
Chapter 281: Chapter 279 How Much Am I Worth
At this moment, Qin Hao was in his villa when he received another phone call.
The call was from Yu Dongling.
Qin Hao was a bit surprised, then answered with a smile: "Hello, Dong Ling, long time no contact. How have you been lately?"
On the other end, Yu Dongling was silent for a moment, then said in a very low tone: "Hmm, I’m okay."
Qin Hao noticed Yu Dongling’s tone was somewhat downcast. The two were silent for a moment. Just as he was about to ask, he heard Yu Dongling’s voice again.
"Qin Hao, I, I need to meet you to discuss something, is that okay?"
Qin Hao was momentarily stunned, then replied with a smile: "What’s the matter? Can you tell me now?"
Yu Dongling thought for a moment, then shook her head and said: "No, I’ll tell you when we meet."
Qin Hao nodded, "Okay, then when?"
Yu Dongling heard Qin Hao didn’t refuse, and her voice became slightly louder. She immediately said: "Tomorrow at one in the afternoon, at Peninsula Café, I’ll treat you to lunch."
After she finished speaking, she didn’t even wait for Qin Hao’s response before hanging up the phone directly.
Qin Hao closed his phone, feeling somewhat puzzled. In his mind appeared the image of Yu Dongling, looking like the girl next door, with her unique, slightly shy, gentle smile.
And that night, the sense of loss and helplessness Yu Dongling revealed, which still made Qin Hao’s heart ache to recall.
She was originally a pure girl like the girl next door, and now having lost her father, she naturally appeared even more pitiful, and her situation could not be good.
The grievances between Qin Hao and Yu Qing were just between the two of them, although Yu Qing deserved to die, Qin Hao still kept in mind the trust Yu Qing placed in him before he died.
What’s more, Qin Hao himself had a good impression of this well-behaved girl. Judging by Yu Dongling’s tone this time, she probably encountered some trouble.
The night passed quickly, and the next afternoon, at Peninsula Café.
Qin Hao arrived at the agreed time; upon reaching the café, Yu Dongling hadn’t arrived yet. Qin Hao found a seat in a corner by the window for himself and ordered a glass of water, quietly waiting for Yu Dongling to arrive.
Soon, it was five minutes past the agreed time, and Yu Dongling still hadn’t shown up.
Qin Hao frowned involuntarily.
In his impression, Yu Dongling was a very obedient and polite girl, and being late for an appointment didn’t seem like something she would do.
Just as Qin Hao was about to take out his phone and call her, the door of the café opened again. Amidst the mechanical "Welcome" from the host, Yu Dongling hurriedly walked into the café.
As soon as she came in, she anxiously scanned the hall, then saw Qin Hao sitting in the corner and immediately walked briskly over to him.
"I’m sorry, I’m really sorry. I was delayed by something for a moment, really sorry."
As she came over, she put down her bag and hadn’t even settled into her seat before immediately apologizing to Qin Hao repeatedly.
Qin Hao smiled gently, glancing over Yu Dongling, and a worry formed in his heart.
Since their last meeting, which was just a few days ago, Yu Dongling had noticeably lost weight. She was already a very slim girl, and now she appeared even more like a floating leaf in the wind, looking exhausted and fragile.
"It’s okay, girls have the right to be late, especially beautiful ladies like you." Qin Hao teased with a smile, but Yu Dongling only managed a forced smile in response, her eyes dim.
She absentmindedly pointed to a few items on the menu, then handed it to the waiter beside her. When she extended her hand, a small section of her wrist slipped out from her loose-sleeved shirt, as white as jade, as delicate as if a gust of wind could break it.
Seeing her like this, Qin Hao’s smile faded. Yu Dongling was still very beautiful, but her thinness and exhaustion made her seem pitiable.
It seemed that Yu Qing’s death had hit her too hard.
Thinking this way in his heart, Qin Hao noticed Yu Dongling was momentarily silent, and the atmosphere fell into quietness. She sat across from Qin Hao, hands clenched tightly on the table, revealing her inner unease.
At this moment, Qin Hao noticed another detail. Yu Dongling’s usual style of dress was quite ordinary, but only ordinary in style. The casual t-shirt she wore would normally cost over a thousand. But today, Yu Dongling’s white shirt appeared distinctly ordinary.
Qin Hao could even see excess threads around the cuffs and a corner of the collar slightly curled. Noticing this detail deepened the sense of wonder in Qin Hao’s heart.
After a moment of silence, he first spoke: "Hmm, Dong Ling. You won’t tell me that you called me here today just because you miss me and want to see me, right? If that’s the case, with so many people in the café, we can’t have a deeper conversation."
Qin Hao spoke cautiously, observing Yu Dongling’s reaction. Previously, joking with her like this would easily make her blush, yet today, upon hearing Qin Hao’s joke, she simply bowed her head slightly, pulling a bitter smile, before deeply looking into Qin Hao’s eyes, asking: "Qin Hao, you are very skilled, right? How much would it cost me to hire you to kill someone?"
Qin Hao paused at these words.
"Starting at a million."
He spat out the words faintly.
Upon hearing it, Yu Dongling’s face suddenly displayed a look of despair. She deeply buried her head, seemingly struggling with a difficult decision.
Qin Hao sat quietly across from her, his gaze lowered, patiently waiting for her to continue.
After a moment of silence, Yu Dongling took a deep breath, then turned her head towards the window, speaking with difficulty: "Then, how much do you think I’m worth?"
Qin Hao frowned at this, not fully understanding Yu Dongling’s meaning, so he asked again: "What? I don’t understand what you mean."
Yu Dongling kept her face turned away, eyes blankly staring at the crowd passing by on the street outside the window.
The midday sun poured down like mercury, flooding the world in warm brightness. Yet she felt cold, even standing under the sun felt cold.
After Qin Hao asked, Yu Dongling bitterly smiled again, then turned her face to look at Qin Hao, slowly articulating each word: "I mean, me, how much do you think my body is worth?"
"Or rather, how much per time."
