Chapter 410: Looking for Dr. Morgan

It was already an hour past lunch and patients outside Elsa’s consultation room in Hartlife Hospital were lining up. Her assistant and other nurses in the outpatient department already tried calling her several times but they still couldn’t reach her.

Jai heard a knock on the door while he was busy working on his desk. "Come in... Make it fast I am busy," he said after the person opened the door of his office without removing his eyes from the document that he was reading.

"Chief, it’s been an hour, and Dr. Morgan is still not here. Should we tag her as a no-call no-show? There’s a long queue outside her clinic. We need to announce her absence soon. You know, it’s only her second day today and first day in OPD," the head nurse in the outpatient department relayed.

Jai stopped what he was doing and looked at the head nurse. "She didn’t call her assistant?" he asked with a doubt. He had known Elsa since medical school days and she’s not the type to just abandon her job without informing anyone.

"She did not, Chief. We have been trying to call her cellphone and her house number. I even called her emergency numbers. I spoke with her father and nanny but they said she’s not with them."

"That’s very unlikely of her. This had never happened before." He paused after realizing what he just said. Of course, it happened before and she was gone for two years and came back with a son and pregnant, with no recollection of what happened to her and where she went.

His heart suddenly beat fast. He feared the same thing is happening again. ’Fuck! What if the father of her kids came back and abducted her?!’ he thought.

Jai quickly wrote the names of the schools of Rocco and the twins. He gave them to the head nurse and instructed, "Please call the first school and the hospitals and police stations near that area and her house. She’s not the type to just disappear without telling anyone unless there’s an emergency. I will also look for her, call me when you find something."

Jai took his coat and bag, dismissing the head nurse. Then he quickly dialed Marina’s number as he stepped out of his office.

"Yes, my friend? Why are you calling me?" Marina greeted Jai over the phone.

"Is Elsa with you?" he directly asked.

"No? I am actually here in the hospital. I’m in the CEO’s office signing some documents. Why do you ask?"

"She’s no-call, no-show today. Her assistant and the staff in the outpatient department already tried calling her phone and house but she’s not picking up."

"It’s the first day of school for the kids, maybe the twins refused to let her leave the kindergarten," Marina said.

"No, she’s not there. She put the number of Wena as one of her emergency numbers so OPD already talked to her and even Dr. Arden. I will go to her house to check if she’s there."

"Whoa, hold on, maybe she’s in Rocco’s school then? You said OPD already checked her house number," Marina suggested.

"I already asked the head nurse to call Rocco’s school. And yes they called her house, but what if she’s there and something happened to her that’s why she’s not picking up. I will call you later when I have news, I need to end this call I am about to enter the elevator."

"Wait! Let me go with you. Wait for me in the lobby. Let’s use my car since I parked it just outside," Marina offered.

"Alright, I’ll see you there." Jai then ended the call. ’Where the hell are you, Elsa? Please be ok. I cannot lose you again. I don’t know what would I do if ever something bad happened to you,’ Jai said to himself.

He waited in the hospital’s lobby and was surprised to see Marina together with the CEO. He already noticed her closeness to him last night and wanted to ask her so many questions. But for now, he set his curiosity aside.

His top priority is Elsa and there are so many scenarios that are entering his mind right now. What if she got into an accident again? What if she got robbed, reason for her to not pick up the calls? And so many other bad things that could possibly happen to her.

"Are you sure we need to go to her house right now? Why don’t we wait for a little longer? I am sure she has her own reason why she did this," Marina tried to convince Jai because she knew that he was just exaggerating.

Plus she perfectly knows that Elsa could handle herself well. Even though she has no magic anymore, she’s still trained in combat and could definitely defend herself.

"No, I have a bad feeling about this. The last time this happened, she came back with a son and pregnant. What if that son of a bitch came back and found her. What if he abducted her?" Jai responded.

Elandir chuckled, "You surely have a wild imagination. That’s too absurd, I am sure he wouldn’t do that, well not the abduction part but if they are back together, I doubt that they would leave the kids behind."

Jai frowned, not liking the tone of Elandir. "Can you just trust me on this one and let’s go to her house? If she’s not there and is ok, then reprimand me after for thinking the worst-case scenario."

Marina and Elandir didn’t argue anymore, even though they were sure that Elsa was fine, they were also curious about where she went.

When they arrived at Elsa’s house, they found Roxanne, her house helper, walking on the street, almost near the house. They also noticed Chris’ car parked outside between the two houses so they couldn’t say if he was in his house or Elsa’s house.

Marina rolled down the window and called Roxanne’s attention. "Roxanne, What are you doing outside, where’s Elsa?"

"I just came from the city to do some errands for the madam. She must be inside, she asked me to cook lunch earlier before I go."

Jai immediately stepped out of the car and ran towards the house.

"Hey! I haven’t parked yet!" Marina exclaimed. But Jai was already far away to hear her.

He tried to open the gate and it was not locked. His imagination ran wild again, thinking that some evil men had entered her house.

Jai went inside and searched for her. She saw her shoes in the foyer and another set of shoes, a man’s leather shoes. He went further and saw someone’s bag and Elsa’s bag on the sofa. He also saw her phone on the coffee table, beside another cellphone.

He glanced at the dining table and saw two plates with unfinished meals. He scanned the area and saw no sign of her, he even looked out the window to check if she was in the garden but he did not see anyone.

There’s only one place left... the bedrooms...

He strode towards the bedroom and saw Rocco’s wolf pup sleeping just outside of Elsa’s bedroom. It used to growl whenever it saw him, but today, the wolf pup just looked at him with a happy face and wagging tail.

He noticed that Elsa’s door was slightly ajar, so he took a peek. The first thing he saw was clothes belonging to both her and a man scattered on the floor. He was sure that his blood pressure suddenly rose up for he slightly felt dizzy and his whole body warmed up if not boiling.

He pushed the door and there he saw Elsa sleeping on the bed and looked like she was naked under the blanket. Behind her was Chris, their boss, the owner of the hospital, spooning the love of his life with his arms wrapped around her.

"ELSA! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!" Jai screamed. It was so loud that his voice was heard from the house entrance making Marina and Elandir ran towards him.

Elsa and Chris also woke up and were shocked to see him there.
