Chapter 371: Stop Making Me Wait

The family arrived in the mountains with the help of Hera’s student who volunteered to show them the best camping spot after Hera borrowed a carriage. Both Elsa and Chris were amazed that Hera’s student was true to his words.

He brought them to a spot where they could see the sea from afar and behind them was a small waterfall. There was a large tree where they could set their tent and to their surprise, there was already a pile of rocks that could be used as a campfire.

All they had to do was add some sticks and dried leaves and set it on fire, which Elsa could easily do.

"Looks like this is a popular place for camping," Chris mentioned.

"Not really, Your Majesty. But my family and I always go here that’s why there’s not much grass and bushes on this part of the mountain," the student said.

"Thank you for sharing this beautiful spot with us," Chris replied.

"I will go ahead now. I will pick you up tomorrow after breakfast so we will arrive at An’owyn castle before lunchtime," the student informed them.

It caught Elsa’s attention and she asked, "An’owyn Castle, not my mom’s house?"

"I was instructed by Princess Hera to drop you there tomorrow."

"Maybe the King and Queen wanted to have lunch with us," Chris told Elsa before sending away the student.

Chris set up a blanket for Rocco to play on while he worked on the tent and Elsa prepared their food. The serenity of the place filled them with a sense of peace and contentment. Rocco giggled as he played, stacking rocks and occasionally glancing at his parents.

After eating lunch, the three soaked in the water near the waterfall which Rocco enjoyed very much. The little prince would cry every time his parents would get him out of the water, so Elsa and Chris stayed there until Rocco was too tired and felt sleepy.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, Chris and Elsa found themselves sitting side by side outside their tent staring at the sea from the mountain. The distant sound of the waterfall created a soothing background melody.

"What do you think the future holds for us?" Elsa asked softly, her gaze fixed on the horizon as she carried the sleepy little prince on her lap.

Chris took a deep breath, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "I see us together, traveling more, finding little hidden gems like this place. Watching Rocco and our future children grow and learn. And hopefully, continuing to serve our people in a way that brings them happiness and peace."

Elsa smiled, resting her head on his shoulder. "I want that too. I want Rocco to grow up in a world where he can explore and be curious, just like he is now."

They both smiled at each other before staring back at the remarkable view in front of them. Even though there were smiles on their faces, their heart says the opposite. Grief and sorrow filled their minds and souls, both uncertain if they would see each other again.

As the night grew darker and the stars began to twinkle brightly in the sky, Rocco’s eyelids finally gave in and succumbed to sleep, his small body curling up on his mother’s lap.

Elsa gently picked him up and carried him into the tent, laying him down on a soft bed of blankets and pillows to ensure he would sleep comfortably through the night.

Returning to the campfire, Elsa joined Chris, who was grilling meat and vegetables over the crackling flames. The aroma of the food filled the air, making their mouths water. They shared the meal, savoring each bite and the quiet moments together.

As they finished eating, the conversation turned to their upcoming separation. Elsa would soon be leaving for Novus, and the reality of their time apart weighed on both of them. Chris reached out and took Elsa’s hand, their fingers intertwining.

"Are you nervous about going to Novus?" Chris asked softly, his eyes searching hers.

"A little," Elsa admitted. "But I know it’s something I need to do to live. If only I had a choice, you know that I won’t agree to it."

Chris nodded, admiring the courage and determination of his wife. "We’ll get through this, Elsa. I will pester Elandir and visit you often." His heart ached knowing that what he said was not true and she would remember none of his promises.

Elsa saw the sadness in his eyes and moved closer to him. Chris wrapped his arms around Elsa, pulling her into a tender embrace. But she has a different plan in mind. She swiftly placed both her legs to either side of him, straddling him.

"Don’t be too sad. I trust you and I know you will find a way for us to be together. Let’s take it one step at a time," Elsa mentioned. She placed both her hands on his cheeks before moving her head closer and giving him a deep kiss.

Their kisses grew deeper, their touches more urgent. Chris pulled the tie on Elsa’s dress, loosening her clothing. Slowly, he removed each and every one of what was covering her until nothing was left.

He gently lifted her up to lay her on the covered ground. Her hair was beautifully sprawled on the blanket. The firelight flickered around them, casting a warm glow over her naked body.

Chris stood up for a moment to undress himself and admire his wife who was lying on the ground with nothing on. "You look as beautiful as ever, my love," he uttered.

Elsa sweetly smiled and extended her hand to Chris. "And you are as handsome as the first time I saw you. Come here, stop making me wait. I am hungry for you, My King."

Chris smirked as he accepted her hand and hastily hovered over her. He kissed her aggressively like a hungry wolf starved for months.

She wrapped both her legs around his waist, not wanting to let him go. They kissed each other as if there was no tomorrow, not minding where they at. They just let themselves enjoy each other as if it’s their last night together.
