The Royal Mark-Chapter 339: Mana Flow
Elsa and Lulu head out as soon as Elsa changes her clothes. Lulu advised her to wear an ordinary dress similar to hers and cover herself with a cloak so that she would blend in and avoid attention from others like what she wanted.
The demon guards also change their attire after agreeing with Elsa’s instructions and reason to avoid attracting unwanted attention. They also granted her request to stay far enough from them not to make them look like they were guarding someone.
Since Kurzen’s border is heavily guarded and they were sure that she could not escape even if she wanted, they easily said yes to her, not knowing her real intention.
"Your Majesty, you are a real master manipulator. I mean how could you convince them not to stay too close to us and even disguise themselves as commoners?" Lulu exclaimed in amusement.
"I acted normal and confident. Also, please call me Elsa at least while we are out here. I am dressed as a commoner remember?" Elsa reminded Lulu.
Lulu nodded shyly and grinned when Elsa hooked her arm around hers as if they were close friends strolling through the market.
"Which store do you want to visit first?" Lulu asked.
"Lulu, I didn’t ask for the demon king’s permission to go here to do shopping. We came here so I could teach you how to gather mana without being suspicious... Now, I need you to feel the energy around you and tell me what do you feel."
"I-I really don’t know how to do that," Lulu replied hesitantly.
Elsa extended her hand to Lulu and ordered, "Give me your hand." Lulu obeyed right away. Elsa made their palms touch and she released a bit of her mana while still walking and pretending to be checking the stores that they pass by.
"I will share some of my mana with you so you can have a headstart... Now, how does it feel?" Elsa asked.
Lulu’s eyes widened in amazement and soon a smile was painted on her face. "I-It feels warm, and my skin feels like it’s vibrating a bit."
"Vibrating? Hmm, I think I already have an idea of which element is suitable for you. But let’s focus on your mana gathering first before I assume things."
"Wow, this is amazing, Your Majes– I mean Elsa. I could feel your mana flowing through my body. I-I think I have an idea what to do," Lulu exclaimed.
Elsa let go of Lulu’s hand, she gently pulled her to the flower vendor, took a bunch of white flowers, and said, "Alright, go ahead and try touching these flowers and tell me what you feel."
Lulu slowly touched the lilies and closed her eyes to get the feel of the mana. However, after several minutes, she frowned and pouted. "I don’t feel anything at all. Maybe I am not fit to do it."
Elsa grasped her hands that were holding the flowers and brought them closer to Lulu’s chest. "Focus your mind in your center, the spot in your body where you will gather your mana. They are usually located in a person’s chest, or abdomen, and for some, it’s located in their head, hands, or feet."
Lulu closed her eyes once more and lowered her head, pretending to be smelling the flowers while she focused on locating her center.
"Remember the warmth that you felt earlier and try to recall where that warmth went when it entered your hand and flowed through your body," Elsa coached.
Lulu concentrated as hard as she could until she felt that warm but soothing feeling that she experienced earlier. She felt a small surge of energy coming from the flowers she was holding entering her hands. It flowed to her arms, then to her chest and abdomen before it scattered all throughout her body.
It felt nice and comforting. She kept feeling that mana flowing and covering her entire being until she heard Elsa raise her voice.
"Lulu!" Elsa exclaimed with a hint of worry and anger.
She was startled and almost dropped the lilies. But when she opened her eyes and looked at Elsa, she was surprised to see her smiling when she thought she was mad at her.
"W-What’s wrong? Did I make a mistake?" Lulu immediately asked.
"Look at your hands, quick, before it’s gone!" Elsa replied.
Her eyes welled up after staring at her hand for it was glowing. The yellow light was too small and faint to be seen by others but it was definitely there.
She stood on her spot speechless and her tears finally fell from her eyes. Lulu felt Elsa gripped on both her arms, rubbing them gently.
"Lulu, you need to compose yourself. Breathe in deeply the breathe out slowly. You have to control your emotions or the glow in your hands might become bigger and will be noticed by others. Come on, you can do this... Breath in... breath out..." Elsa instructed.
Elsa slowly removed the flowers in Lulu’s hands when the light in her hands was finally gone. But she didn’t expect the next thing that happened.
"AHH!!!"
Lulu shrieked so loud that it didn’t only alert the demon guards following them but also grabbed the attention of the merchants and other people shopping in the market.
Elsa looked around and saw that all eyes were on them. She gulped and looked back at Lulu who was still staring at her bare hands, while tears were flowing from her eyes like a waterfall.
The demon guards walked up to them and even the merchant selling the flowers.
Elsa immediately handed the flowers back to the store owner and lied, "I-I’m sorry. There was a bug on the flower, it bit her, so she got scared, that’s why she screamed and cried."
"What?!" The merchant yelled, completely angry. "My flowers are clean and of premium quality. It’s her filthy hands that brought the bug to my flowers. Get out of my sight, and away from my store you lowly humans!"
Elsa bowed and apologized once more before pulling Lulu away. She approached one of the demon guards and commanded, "Get the horses, we will head back to the castle."
