Chapter 61: Warning

Violet was adamant on showing off the skills she had attained in these past two days of training with the Alpha. Therefore, when she learned that Sylas was going to go hunting, Violet tagged along as well.

In the beginning, Sylas did not agree, but Violet believed her persistence got to the Alpha.

Lydia let her know to not stay in the sun for long hours and to leave if she felt uncomfortable. Although she might feel well now, her fragile condition might deteriorate any second.

Although Violet pretended to listen well, the words went through one of her ears and left through the other.

Sylas’s majestic wolf never fails to impress Violet. By now, she accepted how affectionate the wolf tends to be with her. Therefore, although she was a little shy, she accepted it when the black wolf rubbed his face with hers.

Violet thought that the wolf would leave her be, going for a long run in the forest. However, it seemed it was in the distance she could easily spot.

Could it be that the wolf was keeping an eye on her?

Thinking of it made Violet feel touched.

However, it distracted her a lot too.

Her skills were not accurate to begin with. However, when she had a pair of golden intimidating eyes on her, Violet felt nervous.

Although most of the wolf’s attention was on her, it did manage to catch a few of the prey. As for Violet, the only thing she did was waste bullets.

But in the end, she did manage to shoot a tiny rabbit.

Looking at the rabbit lying on the grass and bleeding, Violet shook her head, feeling pity. But then, she thought about how Lucas could cool delicious dishes with it; it made her feel greedy.

Violet picked up the little rabbit and hurried over to Sylas.

Just like how Lucas carried all of Sylas’s prey, Violet thought she would have to do the same as well. After all, even as a wolf, it was fussy about not getting dirty.

But Violet was a little surprised to find the wolf through all the dead animals on his back and walk slowly, accompanying her.

"If you don’t like it, I can carry those animals. They shouldn’t weigh much," Violet said, "well, maybe it would take me a few trips, but I can do it."

The wolf howled, expressing his disapproval.

Once they were out of the forest, Sylas went back to change to his human form. As for Violet, she animatedly rushed into the house with her prey.

At the end of the day, she was still a werewolf and had the instincts of a hunter. Catching a prey, even though it was tiny, ignited a sort of primal excitement within her.

"Lucas! Lydia! It’s my treat today! I caught a prey! Look at it!" Violet exclaimed.

Lucas’s eyes lifted from the game he was playing on his phone and saw Violet standing at the door, holding a little rabbit close to her chest.

Lucas placed his phone down and clapped his hands.

"Wow, Princess! Did you really do it on your own? How impressive!" He complimented.

Violet grinned widely.

"Why are you standing at the door, holding it so tightly? Your dress is getting bloody," pointed out Lucas.

"It’s fine. Alpha wouldn’t like it if the blood drips on the floor. I can wash my dress," Violet responded.

Lucas rolled his eyes. "Look at you being such a good girl. Listen to me. There’s nothing wrong with getting blood on the floor. Let Alpha mind. What’s the big deal? It’s not as though he is going to kick you out of here."

Violet frowned and shook her head. "Since it will make Alpha feel uncomfortable, I don’t want to do it."

"Right, right, I am really jealous of Alpha. How come he gets such a loyal and devoted follower like you?"

Violet’s cheeks flushed, and before she could respond on how she would do the same in the case of Lucas, Sylas’s voice came from behind her.

"Don’t tease the little girl. Go and clean up outside if you are this free," Sylas ordered.

Lucas sighed, but there was no way for him to go against the man’s word. "Got it, Alpha. Whatever you say is the ultimate."

Lucas then stood up and walked over to the door. He then took the rabbit from Violet’s hand. Violet’s eyes looked at the rabbit in attachment for a second.

Then, as the Alpha was about to leave, Violet thought back to something and rushed over to stand in front of the man.

"Alpha," she called, "why do you keep on treating me like a little child? I am a full grown adult. I do not like this."

Although Violet wasn’t sure why she did not feel fond of being a child in Sylas’s eyes, in a way, it seemed that there was a gap between them she couldn’t cross no matter what.

She did not like how he was trying to reinforce a barrier between them, not after how close they have gotten in the last few days.

"You have truly got a lot to complain. Go and wash up first," Sylas stated, smiling. "I should do the same. Both of us doesn’t smell good."

Violet was almost about to shake her head in disagreement. The scent of the intoxicating grape wine was more than pleasant.

One thing that confused her was why she enjoyed Sylas’s scent so much. Wine never fascinated her, and neither did the scent of Mathew’s pheromones affected her so much.

But when it came to Sylas, Violet felt that it was capable of making her lose her mind.

Feeling ashamed of her thoughts, Violet quickly nodded her head.

Mathew stared at the man pressed in dark purple robe in front of him. There was a long hood covering the upper part of his face, and the shadow falling on the rest made it hard for Mathew to distinguish his features.

Mathew’s eyes then fell on Bella as if questioning her of the identity of this suspicious man.

Bella explained, "This is my Master. I trained under him, and he is the one who has been providing you drugs until now. He wanted to meet up with you today. That’s why, I brought him here."

Mathew’s eyes silently judged the man. Although it displeased him how the man hid his face, he was smart enough to know how he couldn’t show it on his face. Not only did he need this man, but he could also feel how dangerous he was.

It was the air of someone more superior to him.

"Welcome to the Blue Rise pack. I am grateful to your drugs," Mathew expressed.

Mathew recalled about how Sylas had beaten him up badly last time, and the only reason he managed to recover so fast was due to how strong he became now due to the drugs provided.

"Bella chose you. That is why I chose you. I can see the ambition in your eyes. You want a lot of things, but it is your current power that is limiting you. Even if you continue to take those drugs for your entire life, there’s no way you would be able to be stronger than Sylas Hale no matter how far your determination goes," spoke out the man.

Mathew frowned, not liking the idea of it.

"I am sure you would have a way out it. Isn’t this the reason you have come to visit me..." Mathew paused for a second, not knowing how to address him.

"Charles, call me Charles. You’re right. I have come here to visit you because I see the potential within you. There are old grudges I have with Sylas Hale, and I need to settle them," he revealed, "but the path to becoming stronger is only going to get tougher from this moment on."

Hearing those words made Mathew’s blood boil in excitement.

"I am willing to do anything to become strong. Give me a chance, and I will prove it to you how your vision wasn’t wrong. Since both of us have a common enemy, we can get along well, Charles," expressed Mathew.

"The first thing you need to do get stronger is to have the blood in your body replaced with that of an Alpha. Are you willing?"

Mathew furrowed his brows. He hadn’t heard of this method before.

Seeing the suspicion in Mathew’s eyes made the man say, "There is no reason for us to cooperate if you are not able to trust me, Alpha Mathew. The basic principle of forming a strong relationship is to have trust."

Bella placed her hand on Mathew’s shoulder and patted it.

"Mathew, you know I wouldn’t hurt you. It was me who supported you to all the way here. Do you think I will bring my Master here if I didn’t truly want your good? My Master’s ways might be eccentric and unheard of, but I guarantee you they will help you achieve everything you want," Bella attempted to convince him.

Mathew struggled to make a decision. If he were to replace the blood in his voice, that would place his life in danger as well.

But looking at those encouraging blue eyes of Bella, Mathew understood he wouldn’t be able to achieve anything without taking risk. Since there was no way left out for him, he should take the gamble.

"Fine, I will trust you. However, how do I get the blood of an Alpha?"

"That is up to you," Charles stated, "However, the stronger Alpha you get, the better it is for you."

Mathew furrowed his brows. Although he has grown stronger now, this was nowhere near of an Alpha’s strength.

"Is this making you hesitate?"

Mathew instantly shook his head, afraid that the man would be upset and take back his offer.

If he wanted blood of an Alpha, so be it.

Mathew will go to the ends of the Earth if needed to achieve his dreams. There was no way he was backing out now.

"I will get the blood of an Alpha."

"Good. From this point on, there are no options for you to turn your back on me. The moment you do so, remember how I can destroy you, just like I made you strong."

There was a solemn warning in his voice.
