The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 37: Uncontrolled
Chapter 37: Uncontrolled
Violet bit into the buttered toast. The crunch that followed satisfied her. Her feet as she sat on the counter dangled back and forth.
"Guess what rumors I hear," Lucas voiced out. The man swiftly cut the potatoes into thin and even slices
Violet raised one of her eyebrows, curious.
"After being humiliated by the Alpha the other day, Alpha James went to visit that bastard ex-mate of yours. Apparently, he barged into the pack without his permission."
Although Violet did not like James much either, hearing the disrespect Mathew had to face made her feel content.
"Not only that, he scolded that bastard a lot to the point his face was red. But there was nothing he could do other than swallowing it down. In the end, Alpha James wasn’t willing to suffer a loss and demanded a mine from the Blue Rise pack."
Violet frowned and asked, "Did he hand over?"
"Certainly not. He tried to fight back and buy some time. However, Alpha James took his werewolves to surround the mine yesterday in an attempt to seize control of it.
Mathew was enraged by the forceful act and threatened to get the council involved. On the other hand, James knows a lot of his dirty secrets, so he has that over his head. Once the council starts investigating, Mathew couldn’t ensure staying as an Alpha."
Hearing this, Violet slammed her hand on the table angrily, feeling wronged. "That mine is mine! Why are they fighting over it when the owner is actually alive?"
Violet puffed up her cheeks, hating the thought of her belongings being owned by others.
"Upset?" Lucas questioned.
She nodded.
Staring at her thoughtfully for a while, Lucas smiled mischievously and offered, "Do you want me to take you out to take out your frustrations?"
Knowing that Lucas was cooking up some interesting plans, Violet leaned closer to Lucas inquisitively. "What it is?"
He winked. "You will see later."
She scrunched up her nose, dissatisfied at the secrecy.
"It seems that Mathew’s succession to the pack isn’t going that smoothly," Violet commented, feeling strange about it. "After all he did, he still has to be humiliated and bow down to others."
Lucas sighed. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
"His ambitions were far greater than his abilities. He considers himself to be smarter than he his. Although the times seem peaceful, being an Alpha still requires you to walk through the fields of swords— one wrong step, you will be gone.
Even amongst the Alphas and packs, there is a hierarchy, and if you can’t win against the hungry den of predators staring at you, you can only wait for yourself to be buried. The deeper you dig, the filthier it gets. That’s why, it’s best to not overestimate yourself," Lucas explained— his voice steady.
Violet silently stared at Lucas.
The man usually came off as immature and careless, without a concern for how the world worked. However, sometimes the profound knowledge he had, supported by the years of hard-earned experience, left Violet surprised.
Lucas then extended his hand and patted on her head.
"I understand why your father raised you as a delicate princess. He understands the struggle and loves you enough to not let you go through it. He wanted you to lead a carefree life, but your mate was turned out to be an unfortunate case ," Lucas added.
Violet lowered her line of sight.
Although her father adored her, a part of Violet held resentment towards the man for making her so helpless. But now, listening to Lucas made her chest feel lighter.
Yeah, her father had done it all under consideration for her.

"That fucking Alpha, how dare he snatch that mine from me!? That’s mine! Everything is supposed to be mine! I will kill him! He will suffer for disrespecting me in this manner," yelled Mathew, throwing everything on his table on the ground.
His eyes glowed. He was a boiling pot of water whose lid burst open. The werewolves under him bowed down to him, trembling, as he took out his rage on them.
The whip on his hand swung, slashing against them violently.
Bella entered the office and sighed. Although irritated by how Mathew lost his temper often, she forced out a smile on her face and said, "I am here, Alpha."
When Mathew’s eyes fell on her, she silently indicated for the rest to leave. Relieved, they closed the door to the office before hurrying away.
"Alpha, I brought the medicine for you. It is refined and better than before," Bella expressed, handing the box of pill to Mathew. "According to him, you have to take it twice a day, and in no time, not even rhe strongest Alpha can compare to you."
The greed in Mathew’s eyes could not be held back. He snatched the box from Bella’s hand and instantly swallowed three pills, not caring about the instructions.
His mind was clouded with the thoughts of getting stronger. Only when he was strong could he have everything he wanted at the palm of his hand.
Bella saw his reckless behaviour and softly said, "Overdosing on them will lead to backlash."
The next instant a sharp pain went through Mathew’s head. Veins popped out of his hands and neck. His fangs extended, and his face contorted as he threw his head back and growled loudly, from pain.
He went down on his knees. And the last remnants of rationality drained away from his being when the burning sensation spread through his blood. He switched to his half wolf form with his claws piercing out and his countenance looking ugly.
Bella leaned down, about to say something when the man grabbed on to her shoulder. He didn’t control his strength while his sharp claws dug through her skin.
Overtaken by the heat on his body, he bit Bella’s neck fiercely. Although the woman furrowed her brows, she didn’t push him away and welcomed his violent actions out of lust.
Bella’s eyes remained indifferent.
