The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 67 - 66: What if I don’t?
「Jiangzhou Government Offices.」
Inside the interrogation room, Qin Fan was seated on a tiger bench. In front of him was a desk covered with notebooks and various documents, behind which sat three uniformed officers with stern faces.
"I thought you said I was just assisting with an investigation," Qin Fan asked with a casual smile. "Does assisting an investigation involve being put in an interrogation room on a tiger bench? Are you trying to bully me because I don’t know the procedure?"
BANG!
As soon as Qin Fan finished speaking, one of the uniformed officers slammed his hand down hard on the desk. The loud noise echoed throughout the small room.
"There’s a good reason you were brought to an interrogation room! Your death is imminent, and you’re still spouting nonsense!" the uniformed officer rebuked harshly, his face a mask of righteousness.
"Confess and you’ll be treated with leniency; resist and you’ll be dealt with severely," the woman sitting in the middle said, her brows furrowed. "Speak. Tell us how you murdered He Haolin and you might receive a lighter sentence."
Qin Fan, a boy not yet seventeen, had actually planned a murder disguised as a car accident to mislead the police. For someone his age to have such a devious mind... Su Aiyu found it truly unbelievable. If it weren’t for the traffic surveillance footage, she would never have believed it.
"Do you have evidence?" Qin Fan grinned, his demeanor still nonchalant.
BANG!
Another loud smack on the table.
The same officer who had chided Qin Fan before shouted, "It’s come to this, and you’re still hoping to get lucky? If we didn’t have evidence, would we have brought you to an interrogation room? You’re Qin Fan, right? The man who died was the son of a high-ranking official! For that reason alone, there’s absolutely no chance for you! You’d better confess right now and not waste our time. Otherwise, I guarantee you’ll regret your naivete!"
"And what if I don’t?" Qin Fan asked teasingly, cocking his head as he cleaned his ear.
"You don’t? Good. I’ll take that to mean you’re itching for a beating!" the officer roared. He turned and shot a look at several of his colleagues standing outside.
Immediately, several officers armed with electric batons opened the door and entered the room.
"Brother Li, this is going too far!" Su Aiyu said, frowning at the man sitting beside her, already knowing what was about to happen.
"Aiyu, you’re new to this, you don’t understand," the man called Brother Li said, his expression softening as if he were mentoring her. "When you’re facing scum who think they’ve committed the perfect crime, normal methods don’t work. These guys are the type who won’t turn back until they’ve hit a brick wall, who only cry when they’re staring at their own coffin. They need to experience the true meaning of ’resistance will be met with severity’!"
"This goes against the principles I learned in the police academy. I don’t agree with these methods," Su Aiyu insisted, holding her ground.
"Aiyu, just watch!" Brother Li said, ignoring her protests. He waved a hand at the men holding the electric batons.
BZZZT!
Suddenly, the unnerving crackle of electricity filled the air.
"Qin Fan, I’ll give you one last chance. Are you going to talk or not?" Brother Li asked one more time before they took action.
"I’ll give you one chance, too. Are you sure you want to resort to this?" Qin Fan chuckled.
"Get him!" Brother Li yelled, his eyes burning with rage as he waved his hand.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Following his command, three electric batons lunged toward Qin Fan’s body.
In a flash, all Su Aiyu and the other two interrogators saw was a blur before their eyes. Then, they saw the three electric batons stabbing at empty air.
The tiger bench was empty. Qin Fan was gone.
"Where did he go?!" one of the men with a baton exclaimed in shock.
"Right here," Qin Fan’s leisurely voice came from behind them.
As the words left his lips, a series of karate chops landed swiftly on the necks of the three men holding the batons. The three of them collapsed, their eyes shutting before they even had time to turn their heads.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
The three dull thuds echoing in the room felt like blows to the hearts of Su Aiyu and her two companions.
How dare he? How could he do this? This is the government office!
"Damn it, do you have any idea what you’re doing?" Su Aiyu couldn’t contain her righteous fury. Slamming the table, she shot to her feet and shouted at Qin Fan.
"Since you disagreed with their methods earlier, I’ll have a proper chat with you later," Qin Fan said indifferently.
His figure suddenly shot forward, closing the distance to the steel-pipe enclosure that separated the interrogators from the suspect. He grabbed a steel pipe and twisted.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The incredibly hard and thick steel pipes clattered to the floor as if they were made of nothing.
"You... what do you want?!" Panic seized Brother Li, Su Aiyu, and the other officer. They all cried out in shock.
Ignoring their shouts, Qin Fan snorted coldly. He leaped onto the interrogation table and grabbed Brother Li by the collar. With a seemingly effortless tug, he threw him.
"Son of a bitch!"
The furious curse had barely left Brother Li’s lips before he was flung precisely onto the tiger bench where Qin Fan had been sitting moments before. As Qin Fan had used his True Qi in the throw, the moment Brother Li hit the bench, his entire body went numb, rendering him unable to move a muscle.
"Guards! Guards! Take this bastard down! Quick!" Brother Li, unable to move his limbs, shouted in panic.
In his eyes, Qin Fan was already a dead man. If a man on death row like this were to snap and go all out, what kind of tragedy would unfold? Brother Li didn’t dare to think any further. Cold sweat instantly poured from his forehead.
However, no matter how loudly Brother Li screamed, the outside remained silent. Qin Fan had already sealed the room with a Soundproofing Array using his will.
"Damn it, do you know what you’re doing?!" Su Aiyu screamed. Her panic was eventually overtaken by the sense of justice that dominated her mind. As a policewoman who firmly believed that good would always triumph over evil, she somehow found the courage to ignore Qin Fan’s incredible strength and agility. Her eyes blazed with a righteous fire as she glared at him. If she had been armed, Su Aiyu would have undoubtedly drawn her gun and pointed it at Qin Fan’s head. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"And then?" Qin Fan asked, smiling at her. Before she could answer, he patted her shoulder and continued, "Calm down. Getting too emotional causes premature aging. You wanted to interrogate me, didn’t you? Fine, sit down. Let’s talk. Bring out your evidence so we can analyze it together."
With that, Qin Fan let out a wild, wicked laugh.
With one stomp, he shattered the chair Brother Li had been sitting in. He then sat directly on the interrogation table, smiling at Su Aiyu and the other officer.
"I’ve been a cop for eighteen years and I’ve never seen a suspect like you," the other officer said slowly, looking at Qin Fan. The panic twitching in his eyes, however, was impossible to hide. "Qin Fan, have you considered the consequences of your actions? Do you really think the law can be trampled? It doesn’t matter who you are or what backing you have. Setting aside the He Haolin murder case, just for what you’ve done here today, the punishment you’re about to face will make you regret it for the rest of your life!"
"Heh, this isn’t the time for that discussion," Qin Fan said with a smirk. "Come on, show me your evidence. You want a confession, right? Fine. Use your evidence to break my psychological defenses. Oh, and by the way..."
Qin Fan smiled wickedly, leaning his head forward to whisper between Su Aiyu and the other officer, "He Haolin... I’m the one who killed him."
