Chapter 175: Chapter 172: Get lost, you don’t understand!

Pfft!

Qin Fan, who was sipping his soup, almost spat it out.

Ye Haoyuan was also completely dumbfounded by Ji Yuchen’s words. What the hell? Her mom wants her to bring her idol home for dinner?

"Damn! Beauty Ji, are you trying to introduce your idol to your parents already? How old are you? Your mom is certainly avant-garde and open-minded, huh!" Ye Haoyuan blurted out.

"Get lost!" Qin Fan shot Ye Haoyuan a glare.

The latter instinctively shuddered, put down his chopsticks, and chuckled sheepishly. His sly eyes darted back and forth between the two of them.

"Qin Fan, do you want to go?" At this moment, Ji Yuchen felt more nervous than she ever had in her seventeen years. It was like a girl experiencing the first stirrings of love confessing to the boy she had secretly admired for a long time.

"I’m full. Let’s skip it. Maybe next time," Qin Fan said with a calm, open smile.

He wasn’t at all surprised that Yan Huixian had asked Ji Yuchen to bring him home. Ever since the incident with the Lingnan Fengshui Association, he knew this day would inevitably come. But so what if it did? I’m always careful to maintain my boundaries, so I will never do anything to deepen Ji Yuchen’s misunderstanding. She can barely restrain her feelings even with me refusing to go. What would happen if I actually went? To what extent would the young girl misunderstand?

"Okay, next time then!" Hearing his answer, Ji Yuchen forced a bitter smile and spoke in a disappointed, hollow voice. As if her confession had just been rejected, her previous joy vanished. An undisguisable look of desolation spread across her face as she said, "Well, Qin Fan, my mom is still waiting at home. I don’t want to waste her kindness, so I should head back first!"

"Mhm, okay. I’ll walk you out," Qin Fan said, standing up first. He also let out a long, silent sigh of relief.

I can clearly sense her disappointment, but so what? An entanglement doomed to be fruitless must be severed decisively!

Without further explanation, Qin Fan led the way. They walked out of the restaurant, crossed the campus, and headed toward the school gate. Throughout the entire walk, neither of them said a word. For Ji Yuchen, it was a time of tangled, chaotic emotions. For Qin Fan, it was a moment of tranquil, undisturbed calm.

"Qin Fan, I’ll be going now. Goodbye!" Forcing a smile, Ji Yuchen waved her hand.

As Qin Fan gave a smiling nod, she returned a bitter smile of her own and walked out of the school gate, getting into the rideshare she had just summoned.

Watching the car speed away, Qin Fan licked his lips and gave a self-deprecating chuckle.

Behind him, Ye Haoyuan suddenly spoke up. "Idol, no matter how you slice it, Ji Yuchen is one of Qi Middle School’s campus belles! She’s throwing herself at you, and you still turn her down?"

"Get lost!" Qin Fan said flatly, then lightly shook his head. "You don’t understand." With that, he slipped his hands into his pockets and slowly started walking away. "Don’t follow me, or I’ll beat you up!"

Watching Qin Fan’s departing back, Ye Haoyuan, who had instinctively started to follow, stopped short. "I... Damn it!" he muttered with a wry smile.

「Half Mountain Villa District.」

When the security guards saw Qin Fan driving his Bentley slowly into the district, they all saluted in unison. It was the custom in the Half Mountain Villa District. At the sight of this salute, however, many of the guards’ faces went pale with panic. They were terrified that Qin Fan would make an issue out of the morning’s incident. If he filed a complaint, they would lose their hard-earned jobs without a doubt.

But they were overthinking it. Qin Fan had neither the time nor the interest to bother with such people. He didn’t even give the security guards a glance as the Bentley sped down the asphalt road.

The imposing No.1 Villa stood at the peak of the hill, exuding an air of supreme status. The ninety-nine villas were arranged in the shape of a pyramid, rising from the foot to the top of the mountain.

Stepping out of the Bentley, Qin Fan looked down at the ninety-eight other villas spread out below. He then turned back to gaze at the imposing estate, a sight unique in all of Lingnan. A genuine smile bloomed on his face. This was the first time he had truly taken in the legendary No.1 Villa. He was satisfied with Ma Yunbin’s thank-you gift—very satisfied.

With a comfortable and leisurely smile, he began to walk inside. He had only taken a few steps, however, when an A4 sheet of paper fluttering in the breeze on the heavy, dragon-and-phoenix-carved wooden door caught his eye.

Qin Fan frowned slightly and walked over quickly, taking the paper to read it. At the sight of it, the pleasant smile on his face twisted into a wry, helpless one.

"Fan,

Your Imperial Father and Empress Mother had to run out! We decided against calling or texting to try this fresh new way of leaving a message. How’s that for avant-garde, huh? Your Empress Mother is pretty hip! There’s food in the insulated container on the dining table, so eat up as soon as you get back! Also, we took the remote control. The key to the front door is in the lock right at your chest level—just pull it out and hang on to it! That’s all. Seeing this note is like seeing me in person, so don’t miss your mom too much!"

Beneath the message were three large, specially written words: "From your mom."

Looking at the graceful handwriting, Qin Fan laughed out loud.

I suddenly feel as if I’ve wasted the twenty or thirty years of my previous life. To think I never realized my mother had this side to her!

Shaking his head and chuckling, he carefully folded the A4 paper and put it in his pocket before unlocking the door and stepping inside.

Qin Fan wasn’t particularly demanding about his living environment, so he didn’t scrutinize the interior. Instead, he slowly extended his Divine Sense. The True Qi in his Dantian began to surge within his body as his Divine Sense spread out. Soon, his mind entered a state of perfect clarity, free from any distractions. His Eyes of Golden Flame activated as well, his pupils shooting out streaks of golden light.

Wherever his gaze landed, he could see intermittent wisps of ethereal white vapor rising irregularly from the ground, swirling throughout the entire villa.

"It’s a good thing I’m the one who found this. Otherwise, no matter how much Pure Spirit Energy there was, it would’ve gone to waste. At the end of the day, unintegrated Pure Spirit Energy is nothing more than slightly fresher air," he muttered to himself.

With a slight shudder, his True Qi rippled outwards. The next moment, the heavy wooden door slammed shut with a bang. At that same instant, Qin Fan’s body began to gently levitate upwards. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

His eyes, which shone with a golden brilliance, snapped shut. His lips, which had been lightly shut, suddenly parted as he bellowed, "Three Pure Ones Spirit Summoning Array, activate!"

WHOOSH—!

Silently, the energy field within the villa shifted dramatically in response to his words. The intermittent wisps of ethereal white vapor seemed to have found a focal point. They raced toward the space above Qin Fan’s head, vying to be first.

After three breaths’ time, once he sensed that the Pure Spirit Energy above his head had formed into a mass, Qin Fan snapped his eyes open. His gaze swept over to the fruit plate on the coffee table and the open pitcher of boiled water.

In the next second, his ten supple fingers intertwined to form a bizarre hand seal.

Pointing the hand seal towards the fruit plate and the water, he parted his lips once more and commanded, "Go!"
