Chapter 158: Chapter 155: Retaliation Has Begun!

「Seventh Space」

It was a quiet bar located on the bank of the Zhujiang River, not a particularly high-end establishment. The tranquil strains of Sacas music enveloped the place, lending it a certain genteel charm.

Qin Fan stepped out of a Bentley and strode inside with his head held high.

Ma Yunbin, who had been focusing his attention on the entrance, saw Qin Fan appear and immediately raised his hand, calling out.

With a slight nod in response, Qin Fan walked over leisurely with his hands in his pockets.

"Master Qin, what would you like to drink?" Ma Yunbin asked with a fawning smile, standing by the large, rectangular bar.

"Give me your strongest," Qin Fan replied flatly, pursing his lips.

"Master Qin, you truly are a man of extraordinary presence and charisma! What are the things most worth boasting about in a man’s life? Drinking the strongest liquor, killing the fiercest enemies, and fucking the woman you love most—!" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Before Ma Yunbin could showcase his eloquence, Qin Fan shook his head with a smile and raised a hand to interrupt him. "Haven’t I told you before? Don’t flatter me. I don’t like that. The fact that I called you back and showed up here means I acknowledge you, so there’s no need for all that."

Although his flattery was cut short, hearing Qin Fan’s words of acknowledgment sent a thrill through Ma Yunbin. He quickly turned to the bartender. "A glass of your strongest drink!"

"The strongest? Are you sure?" the bartender’s eyes widened, thinking he had misheard.

The strongest drink is usually just a gimmick. Who drinks that stuff for no reason? Even people from the ’fighting nation’ can’t handle it, let alone someone from Huaxia with their constitution. Is he looking to torture himself for fun?

"I’m sure," Qin Fan said.

"Alright!" The bartender glanced at Qin Fan a few more times, secretly shook his head, and turned to mix the drink.

"Out with it. I know you didn’t call me here for no reason," Qin Fan said, sitting on a simple, adjustable bar stool. He gave a small yawn and rubbed his eyes.

Grinning, Ma Yunbin pulled a set of keys and a small remote from his pocket, placing them on the bar with a light clack.

"What’s the meaning of this?" Qin Fan frowned, puzzled.

"Master Qin, these are the keys and the remote for the systems at the No. 1 Villa on the hillside in Jiangzhou. Please accept them as a token of my gratitude!" Ma Yunbin said earnestly, looking Qin Fan straight in the eye.

The No. 1 Villa on the hillside? The most luxurious and expensive villa in Jiangzhou? A villa worth no less than two hundred million as a gift?

Licking his lips, Qin Fan repeated, "What is the meaning of this?"

"Master Qin, to be frank, Fushan Residence takes a commission from every auction. Your appearance tonight really choked up that good-for-nothing Qin Shuai. Because he was forced into a corner, Fushan Residence’s commission doubled. So, it’s really not an exaggeration to offer you this villa as a thank-you gift!" Ma Yunbin said with all seriousness.

Hearing this, Qin Fan slowly shook his head with a soft chuckle.

Commission? No matter how large the cut, it wouldn’t add up to two hundred million. With such a generous gift, he’s probably dipping into his own capital.

"If I remember correctly, the rumored price of the No. 1 Villa on the hillside is no less than two hundred million," Qin Fan said with a smile, his eyes narrowed. "No matter how big your commission, it couldn’t possibly reach that amount. So, what’s the real meaning behind this so-called thank-you gift?"

"Master Qin, you saw right through me. You’re right; the commission alone would never reach that figure. But a large part of this gift is also for the Dragon Tendon! I sent a large portion of it back to Beijing for the old man of my family to consume, and the results... you wouldn’t believe it! Before, he needed someone to support him even when using a cane. Now, he moves with a spring in his step! For that reason alone, this is a debt that money can’t repay! Please, Master Qin, accept it. I know two or three hundred million is nothing to you, but this is a token of sincerity from me, Ma Yunbin, and the entire Ma Family. I hope you’ll do us the honor of accepting it!"

Shedding his usual scatterbrained demeanor, Ma Yunbin watched Qin Fan with an expectant gaze.

A faint smirk touched Qin Fan’s lips. Without any pretense, he said, "Alright, I’ll accept it."

Just as Ma Yunbin had said, Qin Fan truly wasn’t concerned about two or three hundred million. He accepted it purely out of regard for Ma Yunbin. Seeing that eager, hopeful look in the man’s eyes... how could I, a man who has lived for hundreds of years, not see through his intentions?

As Ma Yunbin’s face lit up with joy, Qin Fan picked up the keys and the small remote and put them in his pocket.

Just then, the bartender presented the drink.

"Sir, this is the Seventh Space’s Flame City. Please enjoy."

Qin Fan gave a slight nod of acknowledgment. As the bartender stared in astounded disbelief, he lifted the glass to his lips and downed a large gulp. The easy way it slid down his throat made it seem as if he were drinking plain water.

Holy hell! What—what kind of person has a throat like that?!

"Master Qin, after what happened at the auction, I bet that loser Qin Shuai will definitely be coming after you for revenge," Ma Yunbin said, in high spirits now that his gift had been accepted. He took a sip of his cocktail and chuckled eagerly. "What do you say? Want me to help you take him down a peg?"

"He’s already started," Qin Fan said, shaking his head dismissively. He bit his lip as a mocking, playful smile spread across his face.

"He made a move that quickly?" Ma Yunbin’s eyes widened as he exclaimed in utter surprise.

"On the way back from Fushan Residence, a dump truck going over eighty miles per hour came careening around a corner, aiming straight for my family’s car. Heh. I underestimated how ruthless he is," Qin Fan said, pausing to take another gulp of his Flame City.

At these words, Ma Yunbin froze completely.

He knew exactly what a dump truck going eighty miles an hour meant. A collision would have been utterly catastrophic—a scene of twisted metal and certain death.

To escalate a simple conflict to such a deadly level?

It wasn’t just Qin Fan who had underestimated Qin Shuai’s viciousness; Ma Yunbin felt the corners of his own lips tremble. He didn’t ask how Qin Fan had averted the disaster. After all, how could a powerhouse capable of slaying a Jiao Dragon with his bare hands possibly fall for such a crude trap?

Swallowing hard, he asked, "So, Master Qin... what’s your plan?"

"My plan? Since he wants to play, I’ll play along. Heh," Qin Fan let out a deceptively harmless chuckle.

Yet Ma Yunbin could sense the cold fury simmering beneath his tone. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.

"Speak of the devil... they’re here."

As Ma Yunbin sat there in frowning silence, Qin Fan suddenly said something that left him utterly confused.

At that moment, a middle-aged man walked in from outside. He stood on the music stage and announced with a polite air, "Ladies and gentlemen, if you’ll please make your way out. Seventh Space has some business to attend to and will be closing for the night. All your expenses are on the house. My apologies for the inconvenience! Sorry about that!"

"What’s going on?" Ma Yunbin muttered blankly.

"If I’m not mistaken, they’re here for me," Qin Fan said, a smirk playing on his lips.

As he spoke, the middle-aged man on the stage looked their way. While the other patrons filed out, the man walked briskly toward Qin Fan.

"You’re Qin Fan, right?" he stated directly. "Please stay. Someone wants to see you."

"Well, well. Clearing out the whole place just for one person. That’s quite the power trip," Ma Yunbin scoffed, turning his head.

The middle-aged man’s face turned cold. He was clearly not high-status enough to recognize Ma Yunbin. "Mind your own business," he snapped. "This has nothing to do with you. Scram!"

In the man’s eyes, birds of a feather flocked together. What kind of big shot could possibly associate with that good-for-nothing from the Qin family? At best, he was just a piece of garbage slightly better than a complete waste.

But what he could never have imagined, not in a million years, was that his single command—"Scram!"—would mark the beginning of his nightmare.
