Chapter 126: Chapter 123: Shut up!

In the exchange at the Lingnan Fengshui Association.

A sinister bronze turtle had already cast a strange pall over the gathering. With the deception behind the Thunder Drawing Qiankun Gua exposed and Master Dong captured, the exchange could no longer continue.

Just as Qin Fan was leaving the alley, the meeting room emptied out. The various celebrities and dignitaries departed, their faces and eyes filled with complex emotions.

While Dong Tianxing and the Thunder Drawing Qiankun Gua were contributing factors, Qin Fan was the decisive reason for their turmoil. In their hearts, the boy who looked like a mere teenager had already ascended to an incredibly lofty status. Some even suspected Qin Fan had somehow reversed his age and rejuvenated himself. Otherwise, how could someone so young possess such Divine Skills and abilities?

Regardless, they had no desire to dwell on the mysteries surrounding Qin Fan. They could only think about one thing: how could they possibly get to know such an incredible figure? If not for the lingering anger on Lai Zhuge’s face, they would have certainly swarmed him with anxious questions.

Among these people, however, Yan Huixian was an exception.

Once the exchange concluded, the complexity in her eyes faded, replaced by sheer urgency. She even forgot to bid her middle-aged host farewell, hastily rushing outside. She had to get home immediately and find Ji Yuchen to ask about Qin Fan. Faced with a divine-level backer like him, she had no reason to give up on forging a connection.

***

Leaving the alley, Qin Fan had intended to book a private car but happened to spot a taxi passing by. Not bothering to wait any longer, he raised his hand and flagged it down. After giving the address, he settled back and headed for the urban village, feeling perfectly relaxed.

At his front door.

When he stepped out of the taxi and saw the BMW with its familiar license plate parked there, he smiled. It was a smile filled with profound meaning.

He pursed his lips, shook his head, and took out his keys to open the main door.

"Xiao Fan! You’re back!" In the living room, Qin Chu, his face a mask of complicated feelings, turned his head at the sound and called out.

"Dad! What’s with the warm welcome today?" Qin Fan asked with a lazy, carefree drawl.

He then stepped into the living room, his eyes sweeping over Zhou Yihang and Zhou Xueman sitting primly on the sofa. A playful, mocking smile touched his lips as he said sarcastically, "Well, if it isn’t the great Boss Zhou and Miss Zhou. What wind blew you two all the way out to this backwater?"

Hearing this, Qin Chu and Wei Shuying instinctively glanced at each other, both seeing the same unspoken confusion in the other’s eyes.

"Xiao Fan!" Zhou Yihang stood up, trembling slightly. He nervously pushed his glasses up his nose as he spoke.

Before he could continue, Qin Fan cut him off with a cold laugh. "Who gave you the right to call me ’Xiao Fan’?"

"Mr. Qin!" Zhou Yihang swallowed hard, all of his former commanding presence gone. His face was a picture of helplessness, confusion, and exhaustion.

He stepped out from behind the sofa and stood before Qin Fan, his gaze a desperate, hopeful plea.

Seeing this, Qin Fan instantly understood his purpose.

It seems that old fox Ye Jizu sold him out.

"If you have something to say, say it. Cut the theatrics, it’s pathetic," Qin Fan said sharply, his annoyance clear.

To him, there were only three types of people in the world: people he liked, people he detested, and everyone else. Unfortunately for them, Zhou Yihang and his daughter were the two people he detested most since his return. Putting on a magnanimous front for those he despised wasn’t his style. The fact that Zhou Xueman was still alive was an act of mercy on his part. What was a little sarcasm and cruelty compared to that?

"Mr. Qin, please, be merciful and spare me! I was wrong. I treated your family terribly, and I’m sorry. Please, be the bigger man and forgive my transgressions. Spare the Zhou Group!"

THUD.

Without any warning, at Qin Fan’s words, Zhou Yihang dropped to his knees right in front of him.

This sudden development stunned Qin Chu and Wei Shuying. Qin Chu instinctively moved to step forward, but Wei Shuying grabbed his arm and held him back, shaking her head. Clenching his jaw, Qin Chu let out a heavy sigh.

"Dad, what are you doing?! How could you kneel to him!" Zhou Xueman shot up from the other sofa, her expression changing drastically as she cried out.

Kneeling? Her father was actually kneeling to Qin Fan, to that loser? And asking that loser to spare him and the Zhou Group? Damn it, what on earth has happened?!

"You! Shut your mouth!" Zhou Yihang, who had never once raised his voice to his daughter, turned and roared at her.

He then turned back, his gaze fixed on Qin Fan’s feet. At that moment, from an angle no one else could see, his eyes held no trace of grievance or humiliation—only layers upon layers of endless begging.

"Mr. Qin," he continued, "my daughter is ignorant and has offended you greatly in the past. I beg you to forgive her! I, Zhou Yihang, am kowtowing to you. I beg you to spare the Zhou Group!"

With that, Zhou Yihang, addressing Qin Fan with the utmost respect in every word, kowtowed heavily, his forehead striking the floor.

"Mr. Zhou, what is the meaning of all this kneeling and kowtowing? I don’t quite understand," Qin Fan said, his face expressionless as he stood with his hands in his pockets, looking down at the man before him.

"Mr. Qin, the Zhou Group can’t hold on! For more than half a month, we’ve been under attack from unknown forces across multiple business sectors. In another week, maybe less, the Zhou Group will be forced to declare bankruptcy! I investigated and discovered that Lord Zu was the one who ordered the attacks against the Zhou Group. I went to beg Lord Zu, and he told me to find you! Mr. Qin, please, spare the Zhou Group, won’t you? I’m begging you!"

Zhou Yihang’s tone wasn’t agitated. His speech was slow, as if the relentless attacks of the past few weeks had aged him immensely. But within that slow delivery was the helpless regret of a thankless man who had wasted his opportunities.

At this moment, Qin Fan held his fate in his hands.

If Qin Fan chose to hold onto his grudge, the Zhou Group would face bankruptcy and collapse, and he, Zhou Yihang, would face prison. Now, he had no other options left, not a single one. His only hope was to appeal to Qin Fan’s mercy.

If only he could turn back time. If only he had known that Qin Fan could not only command respect from Lai Shenxiang and Governor Ye Jizong, but could also make Lord Zu act according to his whims. Forget calling off the wedding; his entire family would have shamelessly fawned over him, trying to build a connection. He would have pushed Qin Fan and Zhou Xueman to seal the deal immediately! But alas, there were no ’if onlys’ in this world. Zhou Yihang never imagined he would miss such a golden opportunity to rise in status through his son-in-law. He never thought he would push away a prospective son-in-law who was valued even by the Ye brothers. He certainly never could have anticipated that Qin Fan had been playing the fool for so many years, hiding his true strength only to finally unleash it now. He regretted it. He hated himself. He was sick with regret.
