The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 109 - 106: Idiot!
From one bottle every two minutes, his pace slowed to one every five. Before they knew it, twenty minutes had passed. Several empty bottles were piled up in front of the male student, and the color on his face had changed from a drunken flush to a deathly pallor.
GULP.
He set down the beer bottle, still half full. As the world spun around him, his entire body began to feel weak.
"What? Wimping out with half a bottle left?" Qin Fan downed another bottle in about ten seconds before looking at the young man dismissively. "Fine, if you’re going to wimp out, then wimp out! You don’t have to drink anymore. Next!"
"Who... Who said I’m not drinking? I’ll drink it!" Provoked by Qin Fan, the student couldn’t bear the taunt. Amid the crowd’s shouting, he forced down the rest of the bottle. But before he could even set the bottle down, he collapsed, completely out cold.
"Qin Fan, that’s enough! Stop drinking! This... what’s going to happen if you keep going?!" Seeing someone pass out, Ji Yuchen immediately panicked and pleaded with Qin Fan.
"It’s up to them. If they want to drink, I’ll join them. If not, then forget it," Qin Fan replied with a slight smile. Despite having downed several bottles of beer without even a trip to the restroom, he was still perfectly clear-headed.
"Come on! I’ll drink with you!" Unable to stand Qin Fan’s arrogant act, another student stood up.
"Alright. Let’s begin," Qin Fan said calmly, giving Ji Yuchen a reassuring look.
A dozen or so minutes later, that student collapsed.
"I’ll go!"
Ten minutes after that, he too was on the floor.
"We’re out of beer. Let’s switch to red wine. Qin Fan, do you dare?" another challenger sneered, seeing the feigned flush on Qin Fan’s face.
"As you wish," Qin Fan said, narrowing his eyes.
Another half hour passed. On the tables and on the floor, more than forty empty red wine bottles lay scattered about. Correspondingly, apart from Qin Fan, not a single other man was left standing. All of them had fallen to the ground.
"How boring. Any of you girls want to drink?" Shaking his head with the lonely air of an undefeated champion, Qin Fan turned to the few girls who were staring in stunned disbelief. This, of course, did not include Ji Yuchen.
"How is that possible? How! How could you possibly drink that much?" Ge Yabing stammered, completely incredulous. After more than twenty bottles of beer and another twenty-plus bottles of red wine, how could a person’s alcohol tolerance be this high? But no matter how unbelievable she found it, the hard evidence lay right before her eyes. Qin Fan alone had defeated over twenty young men.
"Qin Fan, this... they’re so drunk! What... what are we going to do?" Seeing the twenty-odd students passed out on the floor, Ji Yuchen was frantic. If any of them got alcohol poisoning, how could she, the host, ever live with her conscience?
"Don’t worry. Take this and mix it with water," Qin Fan said with a slow smile, facing Ji Yuchen’s anxiety. He took a small packet of powder ground from an Elixir from his pocket and placed it on the table. "Give each of them a few sips, and they’ll wake right up."
"I’ll do it!" Nearby, a skeptical Xu Jiayi took the packet and poured its contents into a pitcher of fresh water.
"Yuchen, relax. Once they drink the water, they’ll be as sober as ever. I have something else to attend to, so I have to go. Thanks for your hospitality! Goodbye!" Qin Fan licked his lips with a confident, masculine charm, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he waved. He turned and started to walk away.
"Qin Fan, I... I’ll see you out!" Ji Yuchen bit her lip, watching his retreating back as she quickly called after him.
"No need! Take good care of them!" Qin Fan called back with a smile, not breaking his stride.
"Qin Fan, you took a sobriety pill before you came!" Suddenly, just as Qin Fan was about to round the corner, Ge Yabing shouted.
"Moron." A contemptuous chuckle escaped Qin Fan’s lips. Ignoring Ge Yabing’s accusation, he strode down the stairs.
"Excuse me, young man. Please wait." As Qin Fan descended the stairs, Yan Huixian suddenly emerged from the main hall and called out to him softly.
Hearing this, Qin Fan’s mouth twitched. He stopped and looked at her. "What is it, Ma’am? Is there something else?"
"Could we step aside to talk? Inside, if you please?" Yan Huixian asked, her expression serious.
"Let’s not. There’s no need. Just say what you want to say," Qin Fan replied bluntly, having already seen through her intentions. "If this is about the Green Bead Chain, then I’m sorry. Ji Yuchen is Ji Yuchen, and you are you."
Hearing Qin Fan’s direct words, Yan Huixian’s expression changed abruptly. She was once again astonished by his behavior, which was so unlike that of a teenager.
Just who is this classmate of Yuchen’s?
"What if I were to buy it? You can name your price," Yan Huixian said, making no effort to hide her desire.
"I don’t need the money, and it’s not for sale. Goodbye, Ma’am." With a casual smile, Qin Fan gave a polite wave and continued on his way.
He didn’t have many Dragon’s Fangs to begin with, and he still needed to craft an item for each of his parents. How could he possibly sell any?
"Wait, young man!" Yan Huixian tried to call out again, but Qin Fan continued walking as if he hadn’t heard a thing.
Seeing his resolute attitude, Yan Huixian didn’t pursue him. She watched his retreating figure, a peculiar look flashing in her eyes. She was a jewelry store owner herself and had attended countless auctions over the years. She had even been fortunate enough to participate in a few auctions for Magic Artifacts. Her first impression of the Green Bead Chain was that it radiated a presence she had only ever felt from such artifacts. Yet, with the chain, she sensed an even purer aura—one that seemed different from that of ordinary Magic Artifacts.
In short, while she couldn’t be certain if the Green Bead Chain was a Magic Artifact like the ones she had seen, her intuition told her that if it wasn’t, it wasn’t far off.
Magic Artifacts—those were items coveted by countless wealthy merchants and powerful figures. Wearable items like chains were especially sought after. Oftentimes, a wearable Magic Artifact was a true talisman, one that could genuinely save your life.
It wasn’t that Yan Huixian didn’t covet a Magic Artifact; rather, her status and position simply put them out of her reach. One needed more than just money; one needed a powerful background and a status worthy of possessing such an item. While Yan Huixian certainly didn’t lack twenty or thirty million, how could she hope to obtain such a rare treasure—coveted by innumerable powerful individuals—with money alone?
Leaving the villa, Qin Fan had just ordered a car through an app when the door of a Mercedes parked by the roadside swung open. Under the moonlight, a stern-faced, middle-aged man walked toward him, his expression unreadable.
Seeing this, a playful smirk formed on Qin Fan’s lips.
"You’re Qin Fan, correct?" the middle-aged man asked bluntly, wasting no words.
"If you have something to say, say it," Qin Fan replied coolly.
"I am Yuchen’s father, Zhou Yitian." The middle-aged man was none other than Zhou Yitian from Shanghai—the same man who had recently gone to the Jiangzhou Public Security Bureau to demand answers from its chief, Wen Yuanjie.
"Oh. Is there a problem?" Qin Fan remained unruffled, his expression not changing in the slightest at Zhou Yitian’s introduction.
