The Return Of the Invincible Heiress-Chapter 347
Chapter 347: Chapter 347
Avery covered her mouth and snickered. "After some of my mother’s relatives found out that Zayn had become a celebrity, they rushed to Rosemont City. They wanted to guilt-trip our family into giving them some benefits. But of course, we won’t let them get what they want."
She spent about ten minutes explaining the past grudges and the feud between the Carter family and the Stevens family.
While she was speaking, Alexander listened attentively and rarely asked questions.
After listening, he commented, "Even though your relatives are poor and mine are rich, they’re all the same. I don’t have a good relationship with my relatives either. I’ve been fighting with them for many years."
Avery sighed. "The internal conflict in the Moran family is probably an upgraded version of the conflict between the Carter and Stevens families. At the very least, our family feud hasn’t reached the extent where—"
Just as she finished speaking, she received another message on her phone.
When she saw it, she was amused again. "Looks like there’s more."
She continued, "Gavin rushed back to Rosemont City and went to the police station to pick up his wife. After seeing Joel, the two brothers almost fought again. Because they’re biological siblings, the police tried to mediate, but both parties demanded compensation and refused to back down. Quentin tried to intervene, but neither of them would listen.
"They even scolded him for being biased. The two brothers’ wives fought too, so now it’s even. But Joel also hit Gavin’s wife. Although Joel was clearly in the wrong, all he said was, ’If you want money, I don’t have it. If you want my life, take it!’"
Avery mimicked a ’V’ gesture and smiled. "Our family’s goal has been achieved."
Alexander fed her some food as he asked, "What about Maria’s side?"
Avery glanced at her phone while eating and replied, "Ronan was diagnosed with a fracture and needs surgery, so Maria is with him. She video-called the Stevens family in front of him.
"First, Violet said she wanted to help Joel look after the child but didn’t have the time. Next, Quentin said he wanted to mediate between his two sons. Meanwhile, his wife said she wanted to help Gavin babysit, but she also didn’t have the time.
"Then, Joel said that since he’s the second son, he can’t inherit the house, so he isn’t obligated to care for the elderly. He declared that from now on, he won’t concern himself with the lives of the four elders.
"Lastly, Gavin said he’s willing to care for his parents, but not his grandparents. If they want him to take care of them, they need to persuade the Carter family to transfer the house to his name. Only then would he take responsibility."
She waved her phone and concluded, "In other words, no one from the Stevens family is willing to go to the hospital to care for Ronan or pay his bills—so now Ronan is crying in the hospital."
Alexander smiled and asked, "Even if you guys hate Ronan, you can’t really leave him to die, right?"
"He’s my mother’s biological father. There’s nothing I can do," Avery sighed, then continued. "After Maria contacted the Stevens family, she video-called my mother. But my mother pretended to be asleep, so the fake nurse answered and told Maria that she wouldn’t be discharged for a few more days.
"Maria ended up paying all the hospital bills and even found a nurse to care for Ronan. Then Ronan said he wanted to live with the Carter family. Maria told him to call Brandon himself and ask. But Brandon said that if the St—"
"It’s not easy getting rid of relatives like that," Alexander said, smiling as he looked at her. "You’ve been dealing with the Stevens family these past few days. Do you feel happy?"
Avery paused for a moment, then shook her head. "I’m a little happy to see them suffer, but doing all this is like squashing a bug. I don’t feel any sense of accomplishment or satisfaction."
Alexander nodded slightly. "With your talent and ambition, it’s a waste of time to deal with people like them."
"You’re right," Avery agreed. "The time I’ve spent on them would’ve been enough to run a few experiments. Still, this matter is nearly over. I just haven’t figured out how to end it yet."
Alexander smiled. "With your ability, I’m sure you’ll wrap it up cleanly. Would you like to hear my suggestion?"
"Please do," Avery said, intrigued. "I may be smart, but I won’t turn down the opinions of other smart people. I don’t think I’m the best at everything."
Alexander replied, "Your mother can’t hit or scold her parents, nor can she cut ties with them. And there’s no way you all can live together peacefully. How about sending them somewhere far away—somewhere they wouldn’t want to leave?"
The Carter family was on the rise, poised to become wealthy and influential. It wouldn’t look good if they were accused of "mistreating their elders."
Avery was curious. "Is there such a place? If we rent them a mansion and hire maids, my brothers will explode."
Alexander grinned. "I have a place in mind..."
He shared his plan with her.
Avery was delighted. She gave him a piece of meat as a reward and said, "Great idea! I’ll arrange it right away."
At that moment, Ronan was still wiping away tears.
He cried, "My sons and grandsons don’t love me. I’m lying in the hospital with a broken leg, and not one of them has come to see me."
Maria thought to herself, Forget your sons and grandsons—your daughters and granddaughters don’t love you either. You should reflect on yourself... but forget it. Someone like you will never reflect. You brought this on yourself.
She didn’t comfort Ronan. She simply looked down and played with her phone.
Soon after, she received a message from Avery. Upon reading it, she was stunned.
Then she thought, Even though Ronan and his wife favored sons, were selfish and ignorant, they still raised a good daughter. At least they won’t end up completely abandoned—there’s still someone willing to help them through old age.
She replied to Avery: [Okay.]
Ten minutes later.
A young lady in a black business suit walked in and asked with a smile, "Hello, I’m the business manager of an insurance company. Are you interested in purchasing health insurance?" freёnovelkiss-com
Maria followed Avery’s instructions. "My grandparents are already over 70 years old. Can they still buy health insurance?"
The young lady shook her head. "Sorry, our company doesn’t offer medical insurance for people over the age of 60."
She paused for a moment, then added, "But you can buy insurance for yourself. We’re celebrating our company’s 30th anniversary, and there’s a lucky draw for all new customers. The chances of winning are high, and the prizes are very valuable."
Maria thought for a moment, then agreed. "Alright, I’ll buy insurance for myself and participate in the lucky draw." She then pretended to sign a contract with the young lady and drew a voucher in front of Ronan.
