The Return Of the Invincible Heiress-Chapter 339
Chapter 339: Chapter 339
After receiving instructions from Avery, Maria smiled warmly and said, "Joel, after lunch, would you like to check out the old house? It’s furnished and very clean. Dad goes there to stay for a few days from time to time." Upon hearing this, Joel and Isla knew they needed to act quickly, since it involved the house, demolition, and potential financial gains.
They nodded eagerly. "Sure. We’ll go over after we finish eating."
In high spirits, they found the food more delicious and ordered several expensive seafood dishes, planning to pack up anything they couldn’t finish.
Meanwhile, Ronan and his group were causing a scene outside Carter’s Restaurant, attracting quite a crowd of onlookers. novelbuddy-cσ๓
A waitress regretted not taking a break at the nearby dormitory instead of staying at the restaurant to scroll through her phone.
However, as one of the restaurant’s representatives, she maintained her composure, flashing a bright smile as she said, "The boss is on his way here. Please come in and have some coffee."
"We’re not going in. We don’t know if there are tricks!" Ronan shouted from the doorstep, repeatedly expressing his grievances. "I’m Claire’s biological father. She and her husband live lavishly in a mansion worth about 100 million dollars, yet they leave us to live in the mountains, ignoring us for over a decade.
"We traveled all day to Rosemont City, called her and her family dozens of times, and couldn’t reach anyone. How could they treat their family like this?"
Violet sat on the ground, crying. "We’re over seventy, have worked a lifetime in the fields, and are riddled with ailments. We’re terrified of dying without ever seeing Claire again. We came all this way to see her, but her whole family is avoiding us."
Quentin showed a tattered household registration booklet to the onlookers. "See? We’re really Claire’s family. I gave up my education to work hard to support her studies, and now that she’s succeeded, she doesn’t care about us."
Gavin displayed his phone call log. "Look, these are all Claire’s family members’ numbers. Not one of them is reachable. This is Claire’s number, this one is Wesley’s, and this one is Jaden’s. We also called Zayn."
He listed off the phone numbers Shane had given them.
The onlookers were excited. "Oh my gosh, there’s even Zayn’s number? I need to write this down."
"I want to talk business with Jaden..."
"I want to order a house from Wesley..."
With so many famous names in the Carter family, the onlookers wanted to connect with Gavin and his family.
The private numbers of the Carter family were certainly not supposed to be leaked.
What the Stevens family did had a significant impact on the Carter family.
Shane, hiding behind a flowerbed at the edge of the crowd, discreetly recorded the scene using his phone.
He was the one who brought the Stevens family here, so he couldn’t let the Carter family discover him.
After dropping off the Stevens family at the corner, Shane drove away, took off his wig, changed his clothes, and quietly returned to Carter’s Restaurant to snap pictures and record videos.
The phone numbers he gave the Stevens family were fake.
And he blocked all of the Stevens family.
The Carter family would never find him through the Stevens family and trace it back to Andrew.
So far, his and Andrew’s plan was proving very effective.
Amidst the commotion, someone screamed, "Oh my god, it really is Zayn! He answered my call, though he hung up after just two words."
"I got through too! It’s really Jaden!"
With these excited cries, a child’s wailing broke out.
Gavin’s wife secretly pinched Joel’s youngest son in her arms and then started crying along with him. "These three kids... The oldest is 13, and the youngest is just over two. The Carter family hasn’t even spared them a single glance.
"When the kids were sick, we wanted to reach out to them for help finding a hospital in Rosemont City, but we couldn’t even contact them."
Hamza’s brother, Callum Stevens, around ten years old, was prompted by the adults to rub his stomach and call out, "Mom, Dad, I’m hungry. Have you found Claire?"
No matter how good the Carter family’s reputation was, they couldn’t withstand such public humiliation from their close relatives. Considering the elderly were truly frail and the children were crying pitifully, the onlookers began to sympathize and criticize the Carter family.
"It’s been over ten minutes, and no one from the Carter family has shown up, and their phones are unreachable. This is unacceptable."
"It’s not easy for over-seventy-year-olds and toddlers to make it here from the mountains. Mr. Carter can’t treat his parents like this."
"Zayn is such an upstanding person. He wouldn’t treat his grandparents like this. There must be some misunderstanding."
Shane looked at the scene, feeling pleased with himself.
Over the past couple of days, Shane had treated the Stevens family members very well. Swayed by his instigation, the Stevens family grew quite resentful toward the Carter family. Knowing that the bigger the scene, the more benefits he could get, Shane purposely came here to stir up trouble.
At this moment, Brandon had received Claire’s call and was heading to Carter’s Restaurant.
He had driven to CineCraft Studios early that morning.
"He’s Andrew’s new assistant. His real name is Shane Harmon. He must have been instructed by Andrew to bribe the Stevens family."
The disgusting Stevens family had teamed up with the even more disgusting Murphy family.
Brandon felt a surge of anger and suppressed his murderous intent, saying, "Thank you, Walter. I’ll handle the next steps. You can go back to what you were doing."
As he drove, Brandon called Avery to discuss Shane’s situation.
Avery smiled coldly. "Brandon, I want to lure Andrew out and drag him down. You shouldn’t intervene for now to avoid scaring off the Stevens family."
At Carter’s Restaurant, Arthur finally arrived, greeting everyone with a warm and sincere smile.
"Hey, guys, you’re all here!
