The Return of the Fallen Luna: Rise of the Heiress-Chapter 17 You Are Not My Luna
The heat of his body, the way he crowded her without shame, the dark satisfaction flickering across his face when he saw her reaction, it made her skin crawl. He looked pleased with her fear, like he enjoyed cornering her, like he wanted her to know exactly how trapped she was.
Ashley snapped.
She shoved Felix back with all the strength she had, her hands hitting his chest hard enough to force a step out of him.
"What the hell do you think you’re doing?!" she spat, her voice shaking with fury. "I am about to be your Luna, and this is how you dare to treat me?"
Her chest rose and fell rapidly, eyes blazing despite the fear crawling under her skin.
"Aren’t you afraid of being killed by Nathan for touching me?" she shot back, throwing the name like a blade, desperately hoping that it would cut deep enough to make him stop.
Because it had to.
Even if Nathan was with Maddison now... even if all of this was just a cruel game to satisfy Maddison’s anger... Felix should still know his place. He should know better than to cross the line so openly. If their plan fell apart, he wouldn’t escape the consequences.
He couldn’t.
That was the only thing Ashley could cling to.
Even as her entire body betrayed her, as her body was trembling, tense, caught between fear and rage, she stood her ground, forcing herself not to back down, not to show just how close she was to breaking.
"Luna?" Felix let out a low, mocking scoff, his eyes dragging slowly over Ashley’s face like he was stripping her down layer by layer. "Do you really think you deserve that title?"
He tilted his head, studying her, then deliberately enunciated each word, slow and cruel.
"You don’t deserve it... and you will never be my Luna." The smirk on his lips was sharp, almost bored, like he’d already lost interest, like she wasn’t even worth the effort anymore.
But the way his eyes lingered told a different story.
He gave her one last look, dark and heavy, before turning away, leaving just as suddenly as he’d cornered her. It almost felt like he was forcing himself to walk away, like he knew if he stayed any longer, he’d cross a line he wasn’t supposed to—not yet.
Because tomorrow mattered.
Nathan’s plan mattered.
And Ashley... Ashley was still part of that plan.
For now.
In his mind, the thought lingered, twisted, and impatient—
’Enjoy your title while you still can... Tomorrow, when everything falls apart... we’ll see what you’re really worth. If you fall into my hands, I’ll make sure to enjoy every bit of you...’
Felix’s lips curled faintly as he headed up the stairs, his mood visibly lighter, like he had something to look forward to.
Behind him, Ashley stood frozen.
Only when he disappeared did her knees finally give, her strength draining all at once. The weight of what just happened crashed over her, cold and suffocating.
She had never imagined it would come to this.
Not just Nathan.
Even Felix was looking at her like that now.
Maybe it was the fall that made her look so... reachable.
Once, she had been untouchable, the proud princess of the Black Mountain Pack, the beauty everyone admired but no one dared to approach. She had stood so high above them all that even their thoughts had to stay clean in her presence.
But now?
Now that she had been dragged down, stripped of that power, of that distance, she could feel it. The shift. The way eyes lingered too long. The way respect had rotted into something uglier.
Felix wasn’t the only one.
She knew it.
Other male wolves were probably thinking the same thing, looking at her not with admiration anymore, but with greed... like she was no longer a princess, but something they could take, use, ruin.
Ashley’s teeth clenched so hard her jaw ached.
She had survived that encounter, but it didn’t feel like a victory.
It felt like being dragged through filth.
Their eyes, their thoughts... it made her skin crawl, made her feel small in a way she had never felt before. Exposed. Defiled without even being touched.
And for the first time, it truly sank in—
This place was a den full of wolves baring their teeth, waiting for the right moment to tear into her.
And she?
She was standing right in the middle of it, alone.
Ashley forced herself to stand, legs still unsteady.
Felix might have just been testing her, pushing, probing, seeing how far he could go, but that didn’t make it any safer. If anything, it made everything worse. Because Felix had held back.
What about the others?
The other male wolves didn’t respect her. Didn’t see her as their Luna. Felix had made that painfully clear. And if one of them cornered her... there was no guarantee they would stop.
That thought alone was enough.
She needed to get out. Now.
The fear clawing at her chest only hardened her resolve. After forcing her breathing to steady, Ashley turned and walked out of the packhouse, her steps quick, controlled, anything but panicked.
Her car was still in the repair shop.
But she has no spare car.
Fine.
She changed direction and headed straight for the guardhouse. The spare vehicles used by warriors patrolling the territory border were kept there, keys stored for easy access. If she moved fast enough, she could take one and be gone before anyone questioned it.
Ashley slowed as she approached, eyes flicking toward the windows.
It was empty.
No guard in sight.
A flicker of luck.
She didn’t hesitate. She pushed the door open just enough to slip inside, her movements careful, deliberate. Her fingers hovered for only a second before she grabbed a random set of keys.
No hesitation. No second-guessing.
She turned and slipped back out, making sure not to disturb anything else — no shifted objects, no signs she’d been there.
But as she stepped away, her stomach tightened.
Her blood scent.
She could still smell the trace of it clinging to her.
For a second, doubt crept in, but she forced it down. Warriors got injured all the time. The scent of blood wasn’t unusual in a place like this. It would blend in, fade into everything else. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Without looking back, Ashley tightened her grip on the keys and moved faster, every step carrying her further from the place that no longer felt safe.
She then made her way to the parking lot, gripping the keys tightly in her hand. Pressing the unlock button, she paused, listening, then caught the sharp click and the brief flash of lights from a distance. Her eyes locked onto it immediately. A black Hummer.
Without hesitation, she headed straight for it, climbed in, and started the engine. Moments later, she was already pulling out, forcing herself to keep her movements steady, controlled, nothing that would draw attention.
At the community entrance, the guards barely spared her a second glance. They saw her behind the wheel, recognized her, and simply assumed she was heading out on some important errand. Not that they cared enough to question it. The gates opened without delay.
