The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress-Chapter 1048 Meeting Again
A place like this didn’t deal in hundreds or even thousands; it would easily run into the hundreds of thousands.
And yet, Hera had brought them here as casually as if it were just another normal dinner.
The contrast alone left them momentarily speechless.
"Holy shit! Are we really having dinner here?!" one of the staff pressed his face against the bus window, eyes wide as they approached the entrance. Even the driver hesitated, nerves fraying at the thought of entering.
If the guard hadn’t signaled them to proceed, he might have stopped on the spot, one misstep, one knocked-over vase, and he could be looking at a debt of hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
"But... Miss Hera and her convoy have already gone in. Even Logan’s van followed," another staff member muttered nervously, his unease clear.
"God... this is where the elite and wealthy eat," the first one whispered, voice trembling. "There’s barely any pictures of the place; privacy is everything here. Almost no one gets to share what it looks like..."
"But have you forgotten? Miss Hera has visited this place before, and it looks like more than once. We can practically consider her a regular here. She even posted about it online," said a female staff member, who was actually one of Hera’s fans who kept up with her social media and gossip.
"R-Really?!" the girl sitting next to her gasped, eyes wide with surprise.
"Really," the first girl nodded confidently, pulling out her phone. She quickly navigated to Hera’s account and showed it to the others. Within moments, almost everyone gathered around and saw that she was telling the truth.
"Wait... this place is that big? There’s even a lake inside?!" a middle-aged man exclaimed, eyes wide as he stared at the picture. He leaned closer to the bus window for a better look at the restaurant.
By now, the bus was making its way toward the designated parking lot, which was far larger than he had expected. Meanwhile, Hera and her entourage had already been dropped off at the entrance.
Hera and her entourage didn’t see the staff and were waiting for them to arrive at the entrance, unaware that the bus had actually driven to a parking lot much farther away. The parking lot was surprisingly large, which meant it would take some time for the staff to reach them.
Only when the doorman standing nearby heard the static crackle of a walkie-talkie did everyone look toward him. The doorman reached for his own device and heard his colleague’s voice: 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"I saw the bus head to Parking Lot Area A. It might take a while for them to reach the entrance. You should send someone to fetch them and guide them in."
Because it was a walkie-talkie, even Hera and the others heard the crackle and what was said. Logan, who had been observing the scene with quiet shock and reverence, whipped his head toward the doorman, bewildered.
He couldn’t understand why the driver had gone all the way to the distant parking lot instead of dropping the staff off at the closer entrance. They didn’t have time to dwell on it, though, as Rafael immediately stepped in and made the call.
"We should head in first, the night wind is a bit chilly, and we can send someone to fetch them and guide them inside," Rafael suggested. Even as he spoke, his gaze flicked to Hera, seeking her agreement.
The moment she nodded, Rafael turned to the manager who had just come out to greet them. Without repeating any orders, the manager understood immediately and returned to her station to relay instructions.
Besides, while she was making her way toward them, she heard what Rafael said, so there was no need for them to repeat the instruction.
Hera had already given Gerald a heads-up before arriving, so the staff at the Golden Dragon Pavilion had prepared a much larger private room, which was practically a banquet hall. Since Hera was treating everyone, she chose not to use her usual lakeside private room, Pavilion #1.
Instead, she reserved the largest room, which still offered a stunning view of the lake through its grand open doors, designed like an ancient viewing manor and set slightly apart from the main pavilion.
"Please follow me," the manager said, gesturing respectfully for them to proceed. Once she saw everyone was ready, she led the way at a measured pace, issuing precise instructions to the staff through her tablet as they moved.
The entire room had been cleared to ensure Hera and her guests could enjoy their time without interruption, or so the staff thought.
But in truth, a few slower guests were still making their way out, as the staff couldn’t simply usher them out abruptly. Even so, those lingering guests couldn’t help but catch glimpses of Hera’s impressive entourage as they passed.
"Well... well, look who’s here!" A soft female voice echoed through the silent hall, freezing everyone in their tracks. Even the manager halted, her stiff smile twitching as disbelief crossed her face; she had thought the whole Pavilion had been cleared completely.
Her gaze swept behind the remaining guests and landed on three employees, their faces pale and eyes downcast, teetering on the verge of tears. They couldn’t bring themselves to meet her gaze, knowing they had failed to follow her orders.
Among them, a new female staffer, trembling but determined, stepped forward. Nervous and fearful of being reprimanded, she nonetheless knew someone had to speak up and inform the manager of the oversight.
"Sorry, Manager... we couldn’t get them to leave immediately. We couldn’t be too forceful, and they just kept lingering, dragging it out longer than expected..." Though she was reporting the issue, she did so with grace, leaning in to whisper it softly into the manager’s ear so as not to embarrass the guests, despite their behavior.
As soon as the manager heard her, she glanced toward the pair descending from upstairs. The man had a rugged, streetwise look, his face sharp and fierce, adorned with thick gold chains and gaudy accessories that seemed to scream his wealth and as though he was afraid that everyone wouldn’t know how wealthy he was, almost like he was turning himself into a walking treasure chest.
Beside him, a woman with fiery red hair and aquamarine eyes caught Hera’s attention immediately. She remembered Alice vividly; their last confrontation wasn’t long ago.
"Alice... so, we meet again..." Hera said with a polite smile, letting her gaze flick briefly to the man beside Alice. He returned the look, a glint of interest in his eyes.
"Yes... it has been a long time," Alice said, taking a careful step forward. "I also wanted to see you to apologize... for what I did. I don’t know what I was thinking back then, why I resorted to such measures. I hope you can forgive me..."
At first, she had intended to mock Hera, to point out that despite everything Hera had done, she was still thriving, and now even had a new backer. But when her eyes fell on Zhane and Rafael, she quickly reconsidered.
Instead, she reverted to her usual act of the innocent white lotus, maintaining a composed, pleasant appearance in front of these top-tier men, and Logan, a rising star. Yet only Alice knew how much hatred still coursed through her veins for Hera.
