The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress-Chapter 1046 Backstage
Dr. Zigheart didn’t answer immediately. He glanced down at Cherry; she could only go out once, and she might want to accompany them. He wasn’t in a position to interfere with her choice; all he could do was advise what was best for her. The decision, ultimately, was hers.
"Do you want to go backstage to meet Mr. Walker and get an autograph, or should we head back to the car so you can rest?" Dr. Zigheart asked Cherry.
For once, a flush of color spread across Cherry’s cheeks. Hearing Dr. Zigheart’s calm yet gentle voice made her heart swell with emotion. First, she had been moved by Logan’s song, which seemed to resonate deep within her soul.
Now, Dr. Zigheart’s care and attention stirred a mix of shyness and happiness, lifting her spirits even higher. At that moment, she felt as if she were soaring on cloud nine, overwhelmed by a rush of joy and excitement.
Cherry didn’t hesitate and shook her head. "No, I want to meet Mr. Walker too... maybe ask for his autograph to serve as my lucky charm. Then, when I go into surgery, I’ll have something to hold on to..." Her voice was soft and frail, but never grating to the ear.
Hearing her, Dr. Zigheart studied Cherry for a few moments before turning his gaze to Rafael and nodding. It was his silent approval that Cherry could stay, with a doctor watching over her.
As long as the backstage wasn’t too crowded, it would be fine. And if it was, they had enough bodyguards to gently clear the area around Cherry, ensuring her safety and comfort. Thinking this through, Dr. Zigheart could only nod in quiet reassurance.
After all, he was Cherry’s doctor, not her maid or someone with authority over her. As long as she remained safe and her condition was stable, he would let her make her own decisions. Restricting her could trigger negative emotions, which might harm her progress.
By allowing her the freedom to go out and enjoy herself, she would gain motivation to get better, experiencing more of life’s joys. That drive, in turn, could accelerate her recovery and potentially allow them to move forward with her surgery sooner.
"Alright, I’ll have some of the bodyguards keep an eye on you guys so she won’t feel too uncomfortable," Rafael said, thinking of the crowded backstage and the equipment that could potentially pose a risk to Cherry. The rest of the bodyguards would stay close to Hera and her friends to ensure their safety.
Rafael decided to personally handle the arrangements for Cherry. After all, it was Hera who had invited her, which meant the responsibility ultimately fell on Hera’s side. While Cherry was with them, her comfort and well-being had to be carefully considered.
However, Rafael didn’t want Hera to worry about anything; he wanted her to simply enjoy the moment, especially since she herself was also a patient, no different from Cherry.
Because of that, Rafael quietly took on the responsibility of looking after Cherry, while Zhane focused on Hera. This way, Zhane, as a doctor, would be able to notice immediately if Hera felt unwell.
Without informing Hera, the two of them split the responsibilities between themselves, ensuring that both women were well cared for without adding any burden to Hera.
After some time, they finally reached the backstage. As expected, it was crowded, with many fans eager to catch a glimpse of Logan. The staff were busy keeping the crowd from breaking in, but thankfully, Logan’s fans were reasonable.
Once they realized he was exhausted and resting, they stayed in the designated areas and handed over all the gifts they had prepared. There were so many bouquets of flowers, of different sizes and varieties, that the staff’s arms were overflowing with flowers and gift bags.
"Thank you, everyone, for coming to Logan’s debut concert and for supporting him! Because of your love and encouragement, he was able to make this concert a success, and he wants to show his gratitude."
"Please make your way to the entrance and show your tickets to the staff. Logan has also prepared some refreshments and snacks for all of you. We hope you continue to support Logan and follow him on his journey!" the Music Director announced, addressing the fans still gathered around.
Although the venue wasn’t as huge as the top artists, the debut concert had been a tremendous success. Merchandise and ticket sales had brought in significant profit, so the organizers had contracted a few snack and milk tea vendors to serve the fans. As long as they presented their tickets, each fan could enjoy a snack and a milk tea before going home.
He saw this as a smart investment to retain Logan’s fans. Through them, there would be less need for heavy marketing in the future, as loyal fans would become the most effective promoters. This approach would save money in the long run. In essence, he was laying the groundwork early, confident that Logan was destined to soar to great heights.
Moreover, even if all the thousands of fans attending the concert went to claim their milk tea and snacks, the expense would still be negligible compared to the company’s overall profits. On top of that, Hera had also arranged several milk tea vans for Logan’s fans, which prompted the music director to do the same.
He didn’t want Hera to shoulder all the financial burden alone, so he chose to follow her lead, both as a gesture of support and as a statement to the entertainment industry that they were fully committed to nurturing Logan’s growth from this point forward.
With that kind of backing, opportunities would naturally start knocking on Logan’s door, and when that happened, profits would inevitably follow. As for Hera’s involvement, it was simply a senior supporting her junior, especially since she was the one who brought Logan into the company in the first place.
Besides, if Logan succeeded, it would only benefit her as well. Universal Entertainment was under the Avery Consortium’s umbrella, after all, so every bit of Logan’s success would ultimately flow back to her.
Just as the Music Director had anticipated, Hera thought the same way, treating Logan’s fans well now would only benefit him in the long run. It was no different from how she treated her own fans, occasionally preparing gifts for them so they would feel appreciated, valued, and make them feel like they were part of one big family rather than mere spectators. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Before long, the fans gradually dispersed. Although they hadn’t managed to see Logan in person, none of them felt disappointed; they believed there would be many more opportunities in the future.
Once the crowd thinned out, the Music Director finally noticed Hera’s entourage approaching, tightly shielded by layers of bodyguards. The sight stunned him for a brief moment. There was an undeniable pressure in the air, as though a group of powerful figures had arrived to inspect the venue.
And in a way, that impression wasn’t entirely wrong. After all, Rafael, Zhane, and Hera were all part of that group.
"Oh! Miss Hera, you’re here as well? Did you come to support your junior?"
The Music Director greeted her warmly as he walked over, a broad smile on his face. He already had a favorable impression of Hera, and the fact that she was the one who had brought Logan into the company only elevated her status in his eyes.
To him, she was practically the benefactor who had delivered a flourishing money tree into his hands, someone to be treated with the utmost courtesy and respect.
Although he knew that Hera had attended Logan’s debut concert, he hadn’t expected her to come backstage personally to congratulate him. That level of support, and the respect it carried, was genuinely humbling, and it made his smile widen unconsciously.
"Yes. Is he resting right now?" Hera asked with a polite smile. "I brought a gift and was hoping to introduce him to a few friends, if he’s available, of course. I also wanted to invite him and the entire crew to dinner."
It wasn’t just courtesy. Hera genuinely wanted to treat everyone who had worked behind the scenes to make the debut concert a success. Watching how smoothly everything ran, she could clearly see the immense effort poured into every detail, from rehearsals to stage management.
Too often, the people working in the background were overlooked, their hard work taken for granted.
Hera believed that a simple gesture, a word of praise, or a sincere invitation could make all the difference. When people felt seen and appreciated, they worked not just harder, but with heart. And she was certain that with encouragement like this, future arrangements would only grow smoother, stronger, and better.
Hearing Hera extend the invitation to the entire crew genuinely stunned the music director. After all, this wasn’t just a handful of people; there were dozens of staff involved. Even if she chose a modest venue, the bill would still run into the thousands, comparable to a full company retreat.
Treating the crew wasn’t her obligation; it should have been the company’s responsibility. The thought made him instinctively uneasy.
