The Retired CEO's Guide To Being Spoiled-Chapter 245: Malice in the Lecture Hall
Although Julian Sterling did not interrogate anyone, nor did he point fingers at any specific individual. That mournful, sorrowful weeping still caused the surrounding crowd to gradually fall into silence. Some people pursed their lips, their complexions not looking entirely well, perhaps awakened to reality by those preceding questions. However, there were also those who remained completely apathetic. They only paused purely to blend in with the current atmosphere.
In truth, Julian Sterling did not care too much about the attitudes of these bystanders. After all, this tear-filled theatrical display was not solely performed for them to watch. He merely considered this a closing Chapter to the tumultuous uproar, while simultaneously hoping to pull back whatever meager shred of conscience remained in their hearts. Besides, what right did Julian Sterling possess to loudly lecture others on their morality? When facing himself, he could not even be entirely certain that he could be completely associated with the word pure. He simply wanted to borrow this opportunity to make those blindly following the crowd realize exactly how deeply they were hurting another person.
Right as Kian Foster was sitting nearby, gently patting Julian Sterling on the back and softly comforting Julian Sterling, advising Julian Sterling not to take the gossiping words to heart, a contemptuous, malicious voice suddenly echoed through the quiet, still space of the lecture hall: "Just a bitch for the upper class, what are you pretending to be so pure and noble for in front of everyone here?"
That guy’s voice was not quiet in the slightest, echoing across the entire corner of the room, and the insults did not stop there at all. He smirked coldly, his eyes brimming with mockery, speaking even more outrageously by the second. Terrible phrases like worn-out rag, shameless and despicable trash... all made an appearance, as if he wanted to use the absolute filthiest vocabulary to trample all over the dignity of Julian Sterling.
"Hey! Could you keep your mouth a bit cleaner? If you have the guts, say that one more time!" Kian Foster was so furious that his face flushed completely red, unable to hold back as he abruptly stood up, pointing directly at the other guy and yelling loudly. He narrowed his eyes to look closely, immediately recognizing this person. This was none other than one of the lackeys who had been trailing closely behind Vince Sutton the other day, seemingly always eager to flatter and act as a mindless minion for Vince Sutton.
Not only was the other guy entirely unafraid, but he also held his head high in sheer defiance: "What, did I say something wrong? Acting all high and mighty for what? At the end of the day, it is just a dirty toy for the rich to entertain themselves with. If it were me, if I fell into such a filthy and disgraceful situation, I would just drop dead and get it over with; living like that is incredibly humiliating, bringing a horrible reputation to the whole family."
Right when he was about to open his mouth to spout even more humiliating insults, a black streak tore through the wind and lunged forward. A ballpoint pen grazed right past his face, clattering loudly onto the wooden desk. The girl who had been sitting silently in the corner of the classroom all this time abruptly stood up, her face overflowing with absolute indignation, pointing directly at the young man’s face: "I am going to take a picture of your face and submit a request asking the university to thoroughly review your moral character. I do not think a prestigious institution like St. Lawrence University could ever tolerate and accept a person who holds such a warped perspective on society, someone who opens their mouth only to hurl foul abuse at others like that."
The guy was thoroughly startled by the thrown pen, then turned his intense embarrassment into explosive anger, shouting back loudly: "Did I say anything incorrect to make you call me warped? If I am someone who is warped, then that thing selling its ass to those wealthy tycoons is the one who truly taints morality, soils this learning environment, and deserves to be the very first one expelled!"
Upon hearing this, Julian Sterling slowly lifted his head, his eyes still visibly red and teary. He was just about to speak up and argue back when he saw that female classmate slam her hand forcefully onto the desk, speaking up with ringing clarity first: "I have no idea which garbage source you heard this issue from, but it is blatantly obvious that out of all the information you have been spouting since earlier, not a single piece has been verified by any official authorities. You merely read a few baseless, nonsensical rumors on the internet and then started spreading wild gossip yourself, even resorting to verbal violence, attacking and insulting another person completely without cause. These actions of yours, it is not simply a matter of your personal morality having an incredibly severe problem, but I genuinely think the university really should reconsider your qualifications as a student. How can a fully grown adult who is so easily led by the nose and deceived by fake news like that truly absorb knowledge and study at this university? Who is to say that with such poor cognitive awareness, you will not be lured by malicious individuals into criminal syndicates in the future, ultimately tarnishing the stellar reputation of the school!"
The guy was hit right in his guilty conscience but still stubbornly argued back with flawed logic: "Since when did I look at nonsensical posts? Do not make such malicious, baseless accusations at me! It is abundantly clear that the post on the forum had evidence attached, and there was even a photograph of the lawsuit documents submitted to the court, was there not? Are you entirely blind or something that you could not see it?"
That girl let out a cold, chilling laugh, her tone sharp as a blade: "But that is a legal case relating to the incident where he was kidnapped. He is entirely the injured party, a victim who desperately needs to be protected! Meanwhile, the vulgar, agonizing scoldings and insults you have been forcing upon him all this time actually stem from a completely baseless, ridiculously absurd story fabricated by others. What is the matter, or could it be that you belong to the exact same category as that absolute scum, always carrying the toxic mindset of blaming the victim and vehemently defending the guilty party?"
