The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 519 - 313: Legacy of the Dragon God
The Slaying King Star naturally made its way to the Elariya Plane where David resided.
They’re preparing to stake everything.
Looking at the increasingly brilliant crimson star, David instantly understood the elven gods’ intentions.
The Chromatic Dragon Queen Tiamat had been amassing troops continuously for twenty years, pressing against Toriel with the desperate resolve to reclaim her homeland. The elven gods couldn’t possibly be unaware of it.
Rather than engage in a fight to the death with the dragons over a land where they had already lost substantive sovereignty, it was better to risk everything in pursuit of a new primary material plane.
It was a stark gamble on the fate of their nation, yet it was very much in line with the elves’ consistent style.
Most importantly, this move was one the Spider Goddess, Rose, was pleased to see happen. The Toriel Plane had been completely ceded by the High Elves. On the Elariya Plane, elves had similarly already been heavily damaged by the dragons David led. She needed The Slaying King Star to continue existing to counterbalance the dragons.
As for vengeance against the elves and even against Corellon, Rose was not in a hurry to exact it. In fact, She seemed keen on, and to be indulging in, the process of revenge.
Rose was enjoying herself, but David was not pleased.
Tiamat... when you chose to plot with such a woman, one who was sure to betray you, what on earth were you thinking back then?!
[Wrath]
This was a question David had never been able to figure out. Because by Rose’s very nature and divine portfolio, She was destined to betray all cooperation and tear up any contract not in Her favor. He couldn’t believe that Tiamat, as the Chromatic Dragon Queen, wouldn’t have foreseen this and prepared accordingly, especially when he himself could see it so clearly!
Under this immense fury, the hot-blooded David suddenly felt as if he were "seeing visions and hearing illusions."
It seemed he was once again witnessing the scene of his audience with the Chromatic Dragon Queen Tiamat at the Temple of All Colors. No, it was the absurd dream in which he and the five incarnations of the Dragon Queen were trapped in an unending, rotating cycle of brides...
[Lust]
Damn it, why does my Lust trigger at such a critical time...
He knew that not far off, an incarnation of The Wandering God was brandishing a knife, ready to cut him down! He didn’t have five heads to spare!
He faintly heard Tiamat’s green head whisper near his ear frill, "By that time, you will surely question my current decision."
"I wouldn’t dare," David immediately heard ’himself’ answer with utmost caution from the memory.
But the black dragon head continued unconcernedly, "But Arlosh has made a pact with me."
"A pact cannot bind our Spider Goddess; She can betray even the love pact with her ex-husband," ’David’ continued, the dreamscape growing clearer.
Then Tiamat’s blue dragon head spoke with imposing authority, "A pact between deities... even if Arlosh finds a loophole and ’fulfills’ it, I will surely know. When that time comes, as long as you are certain Bahamut is on The Slaying King Star, I will completely resolve our grudge before The Slaying King Star arrives."
"...How will it be resolved?" David, at that time in the dream, couldn’t help but ask.
Then the white dragon head, cold as ice, replied indifferently, "Naturally, either he dies, or I live."
"..." As ’David’ fell silent at this response, which had been somewhat shocking to him at the time, the Dragon Queen’s red dragon incarnation looked at him deeply, "But no matter whose claw the dragon dies by, the divine portfolios of both the Chromatic Dragon Queen and the King of the North Wind will fuse into one. At that time, whether it is I or Bahamut, as the new Nine-Faced Dragon God, neither of us will allow The Slaying King Star to continue to exist."
"’My Queen, I offer countless prayers for you!’ ’David,’ unwittingly impressed, could only nod in approval.
"Sleep... sleep... Within slumber lies my peaceful return home," the Chromatic Dragon incarnations chorused.
Within slumber lies my peaceful return home...
David suddenly shook his head. "Damn it," he muttered, "Tiamat played this trick on me too."
Until then, he had thought the trick of planting a ’hidden diary’ for Aria was his original creation.
However, in an instant, David also understood why Tiamat had gone to such lengths. After all, the Spider Queen Rose was also involved in the domain of [Trickery]. All tangible schemes were transparent to this goddess, so adept in conspiracy and deviousness. And if he had known Tiamat’s entire plan in advance, he most likely wouldn’t be as ’fully committed’ as he was now, and might even ’mishandle the execution.’
Suddenly, the arrival of The Slaying King Star caused him to ’perceive’ this conversation, long buried deep within an erotic dream, and he laughed neurotically. So Tiamat *had* left a contingency back then and was prepared to personally deal with this hidden danger herself.
The problem was, however, that the two Dragon Gods had fallen for the elven gods’ scheme during their duel and had long since lost their way.
But just as David countered the strike from The Wandering God’s Chosen with a [Dispel Magic]-level Retribution of the Gods, he suddenly sensed something and instinctively looked up at the sky.
With Rose’s tacit approval of the broken pact and under the Moon Goddess Sahani’s manipulation, The Slaying King Star was forcibly summoned and teleported from Toriel. At that very moment, as three divine power avatars unleashed their full might in a cataclysmic clash, space tore open once again, just as it had in the past.
From within, a small voice that everyone could hear kept repeating:
"My God, Bahamut."
"Your humble follower calls out to you here."
