Chapter 491: Chapter 294: The Dragon’s Sun

The Giant God Streitbur, who broke the unwritten rules of war 30,000 years ago and whose manhood the Chromatic Dragon Queen Tiamat had torn off and hung as a decoration in her treasure vault, could never have imagined this.

In those years, to aid his believers in resisting the onslaught of dragons, the Frost Titans he spawned from his own bloodline failed to make a name for themselves in that eternal war.

But now, 30,000 years later on the Prime Material Plane of Elariya, through the hands of the High Elves, who were once nothing more than slaves guiding their path, they unleashed their destructive power.

With every step these Frost Titans took, explosions like the frigid winds of winter followed. The originally scorching air above the Kutaro Desert began to accumulate thick layers of dark clouds from the sudden clash of frosty power.

For a moment, it was as if a cataclysm had descended.

"Hey, hey, hey, what the hell is going on...?" Viola, also by the coast, watched as the Frost Titans fell from the sky like hellfire. They emerged from the ruins and began to indiscriminately destroy everything around them. Hearing the ancient and solemn warning bells of Montero Ore Town, she felt an unreal, dreamlike sensation.

Until she heard that wail from her brother Alfonse behind her.

Could it be...

Viola felt her heart sink, yet her mind, jolted from that unreality by the horrifying possibility, made her chest tighten and her nose sting.

This foreign feeling was extremely uncomfortable for her.

After capturing the Moon Goddess’s Chosen during the encounter in Central Earth, David had returned to his domain and immediately convened all his dragons. He held a brief meeting and implemented a series of emergency measures in anticipation of a possible Elven rescue or retaliation.

Yet, even so, the nature of this covert incursion had far surpassed all the dragons’ expectations.

All their contingency plans had assumed the High Elves as the enemy.

Or, specifically, they anticipated the High Elves’ magical fleet’s massive bombardment, Legendary Magic, and the potential for Gloomy Lyre Wanderer squads to invade.

So, when dozens, perhaps hundreds, of ’pale hellfires’ fell from the sky, many dragons were initially dumbfounded.

They thought their lord had whimsically put on a fireworks show for their amusement.

It wasn’t until the bell, loud enough to hurt even draconic eardrums, suddenly rang out that the young dragons in the camp reacted like meerkats sensing an approaching predator. They instinctively dove into the Montero Ore Town mineshafts, which had been reinforced by the Blue Dragons, just as they had practiced in previous military defense drills.

Equally alert, the human merchants and miners also followed suit, frantically fleeing towards the mine shafts with faces marked by panic and despair.

What followed was a ground-shaking explosion akin to a ’meteor crash.’

In this horrific ’Titan Summoning Bombardment,’ the shallow mining tunnels immediately collapsed, burying most of those within. Even several deeper tunnels fractured.

But this still saved the lives of many dragons.

These beings, capable of hibernating in magma, sand, poisonous fog, swamps, and icy seas, were not going to perish over a mere issue with breathing.

That was a problem for humans to consider.

And so, after this cataclysm—which could extinguish the martial spirit and courage of any civilized race—had swept over Montero Ore Town, countless draconic heads, large and small, of various colors, emerged one after another from the rubble. They looked at each other and then gazed into the distance. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

They were relieved to have survived; some could even manage to laugh about it.

Such was the nature of Chromatic Dragons. Every day and night, on their journey to adolescence and adulthood, they might face their own doom. Therefore, they were always indifferent to life and death. Their philosophy was simple: Eat well, drink well, and strive to grow big.

Then, fight, and enjoy it!

But even these happy-go-lucky creatures were utterly baffled upon seeing the Frost Titans emerge from the ruins and pits. Some dragons still couldn’t believe their eyes:

"By Tiamat above, giants? Or the legendary Titans? Am I dreaming?"

One was promptly dragged by the tail by his dragon beast brothers, who rushed past, clumsily shouting as they fled,

"Run! Brother, run fast!"

Facing these archenemies, a foe deeply ingrained in draconic lineage, the instinct to survive swiftly took precedence.

At such times, loosing a blast of Dragon Breath towards the sky was considered enough to repay Prince David for the Dragon Food he had provided over the years.

Yet, as more and more dragons joined the exodus to flee the battleground, and with the roar of ’meteors’ no longer crashing down to cover other sounds, a howl far more piercing than Mofei’s and the others’ had been now echoed over the ruins:

"Mother Kraidian!!!"

Was that the voice of the black dragon Viola?

Many dragons who idolized Viola as the goddess of their hearts couldn’t help but feel a pang of pity.

Good heavens, when had Viola ever sounded so heartbroken!

Wait a minute! Mother Kraidian?

In that instant, it was as though the entirety of Montero Ore Town, riddled with gaping wounds, fell silent for a moment.

So much so that even the Frost Titans, rejoicing in their return to the Prime Material Plane, were somewhat taken aback.

Because in the eyes of these small lizards, none of whom even reached their knees, they saw something that was plainly visible, even to their dull wits...
