The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 810 - 779: Really Three (1)
Chapter 810: Chapter 779: Really Three (1)
Since they had called in advance yesterday, the obstetrician was already waiting at the door when Situ Xin and her entourage arrived.
The doctor was surprised to see such an impressive group of people appear, some of whom were usually only seen on TV, but luckily her professional composure was good, and despite the surprise inside, her face did not show it.
Old Master Situ and the others were worried about Situ Xin’s health and the baby in her belly and did not engage in small talk with the doctor but directly asked her to lead them to the examination area.
Reaching outside the ultrasound room, the doctor stopped. "Only the expectant mother and the representative you choose should enter with me, everyone else waits outside," she said with courage gathered along the way.
There was nothing the doctor could do; the ultrasound room could not accommodate so many people standing beside Situ Xin.
Upon the doctor’s request, Xiao Muli subconsciously stepped forward to join Situ Xin in the room. But as soon as he moved, he was stopped by Situ Haotian. "Muli, stay here with us. Let the baby’s mother accompany her," said Situ Haotian, blocking all of Muli’s options. Muli could only obediently wait outside. Yet in his heart, he couldn’t help muttering, "I am the father of the baby in her belly, how can I not accompany her."
However, Xiao Muli didn’t dare to create any scene in front of the Situ family, especially in front of those men who were crazed for granddaughters, daughters, nieces, and grandnieces; he feared causing a scene might cost him his future wife.
Situ Xin, holding hands with her mother Loo Yaxin, followed the doctor into the ultrasound room. Situ Xin was not nervous about the check-up at all; rather, it was her mother who seemed very tense and anxious.
"Mom, it’s just a check-up. Don’t be nervous," Situ Xin comforted. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
The doctor in front found it odd after hearing Situ Xin’s words - why wasn’t the expectant mother nervous, but her mother was so tense? The doctor couldn’t understand the worries of Loo Yaxin and the concerns of both the Situ and Loo families.
"There’s no need to be nervous, it’s just a pregnancy check, looking at the baby’s condition in the mother’s belly. If you want to know the baby’s gender, we’ll have to wait a bit longer, until about three months," said the doctor, unaware whether the family, like many others, hoped for a baby boy.
"It doesn’t matter what gender the child is, as long as it’s healthy," said Loo Yaxin lovingly as she looked at Situ Xin’s belly.
The doctor was quite surprised; not expecting such a family to be indifferent about the baby’s gender. But if the doctor knew that almost everyone in the household actually hoped the child in Situ Xin’s belly was a girl, they would wonder how the expression on their face might change.
"Come lie down here. I’ll check on the baby’s condition." Normally, this level of ultrasound work wouldn’t be her responsibility, but she took it up personally due to the good relations with Situ Xin’s maternal aunt and the status of the Situ family. With Loo Yaxin’s help, Situ Xin slowly laid down on the ultrasound bed, lifted her shirt, and prepared for the procedure. An ultrasound doesn’t take long, but those waiting outside were getting anxious, wondering why it was taking so much time and why there had been no news yet.
The longer they waited, the more negative thoughts popped up, increasing their anxiety. Even Xiao Muli became restless, "Why is it taking so long? We should go check." Situ Haotian was the first who couldn’t stay calm anymore and said this as he made to rush in.
Luckily, at that moment, the door to the ultrasound room opened, with Loo Yaxin assisting Situ Xin out. Situ Xin’s face revealed no particular expression, while Loo Yaxin’s face still carried traces of her reaction to the news she had just heard.
Seeing Loo Yaxin’s facial expression led everyone to misunderstand. Old Madam Situ asked, "Yaxin, how is it? How is the child in the baby’s belly?"
"Is there a serious problem?" Old Master Situ followed up with his question.
Jolted back to reality by both Old Master Situ and Old Madam Situ’s questions, Loo Yaxin responded, "Oh, the child in the baby’s belly is very healthy, no problems at all."
"Then why that expression?" Situ Haotian asked, pointing to his wife’s previous look.
"Oh, that expression, it was just utter surprise upon hearing the news," Loo Yaxin said, unable to hide the smile on her face.
"What news?" Lu Juan couldn’t help but ask. Following her cue, all eyes turned towards Loo Yaxin.
"Hehe, it’s great news, indeed. The baby isn’t expecting just one baby," Loo Yaxin said, and before she finished, Situ Haotian’s eyes widened in astonishment, "Twins?"
"Not twins, triplets. I was just startled by this news, took me a while to process. Though, the doctor said at this early stage, we can’t tell the genders of the triplets in the baby’s belly yet," Loo Yaxin excitedly announced.
"Really? Triplets in the baby’s belly?! Ha, that’s wonderful. Now, any which way, we’ll get to hold a great-granddaughter. Ha ha." Old Master Situ couldn’t contain his joy at hearing that Situ Xin was carrying triplets, his face lit up with a big smile.
"Is everything truly okay?" Old Master Loo, more detail-oriented and thoughtful than Old Master Situ, still wasn’t convinced and asked again.
"Grandpa, don’t worry, everything is perfectly fine. I’m healthy, and the babies in my belly are too," Situ Xin said gently, patting her stomach. Meanwhile, unnoticed by all, Xiao Muli somehow found his way to Stand beside Situ Xin.
