The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 420: The onslaught- III
I grimaced hard when the loud bang pulsed through the air.
Opening my eyes, I had to blink them a little bit to get rid of the tears. I watched as they used a large barrel to break through the doors. They had it all this time?
They were prepared for it. Christopher and Anastasia had prepared for all of this—the takeover.
"Bring the girl forward," Christopher turned around and his eyes met someone’s past mine, "that one."
My eyes widened in horror. Catherine gasped and whimpered before I heard the clashing of the metal. The soldier holding her was moving. My head turned in her direction and I saw her resisting but he easily thought it was nothing. Catherine’s tearful and pleading eyes turned to me and fear shot times a hundred in my chest.
"No!" I screamed, wrenching my hand out of his grip. "Not her.’
My soldier holding my hands twisted it and seethed, "You were not asked. Don’t fucking test me.
The armor was made of metal and I could not do much about it. I had no blade with me but with one quick glance I spotted the one that was strapped to the belt of the soldiers armor. It was a small dagger and I could wield it perfectly. Maybe, with the element of surprise by my side, I might even be able to do some kind of damage to him.
"Bring the girl forward." Christopher commanded before turning forward. This was it.. I had to do it now. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Catherine resisited, verbally and physically yet, nothing was done about that. The soldier did not stop, no one else cared, nor gave a dam.
With one last glance to my sister, I looked at the dagger before aiming my hand towards it and pulling it out of his belt.
There was the lining of metal making it some sort of net extended to his shoulders, but one part of it was left exposed. The center part where his Adams Apple was.
I plunged it into his neck before any second thought could come. His eyes widened at my action, but I retracted the blade and plunged it into his neck again.
He choked and blood sputtered from in between his lips. He choked on it before his eyes rolled back to the back of his head, and he fell back.
It all happens slowly in my eyes, no matter how quickly it may be in reality. While he was on the ground, blood coming out of his wounds and his mouth, I looked at my hand that was still in the air, holding the dagger in it.
I killed him.
The way he had moved was likely to decide, and his eyes remained open, it was certain. I killed him.
My head slowly turned towards Christopher, who was watching carefully. He saw what happened. Yet, he showed nothing. No fear, no anger, just nothing.
I gulped. "You take me. You don’t take my sister." my grip changed on the dagger, telling him that I was ready to attack anyone who came in my way.
He scoffed with a humorous laugh. "The soldier was a careless, bastard, who allowed the mishap to happen to himself. A mishap that cost him his life."
He sighed. "His mistake has led every soldier here to be vigilant of their actions, of your actions. What makes you think you will be able to take such an action again?"
I—
"But you have earned your way to sacrifice." He nodded. "Bring this one through."
They had chosen me. A movement got my attention and I turned around, but a hand gripped my wrist before squeezing it mercilessly.
I gasped and yelped before dropping the bag and reaching over to remove his waist. He pulled me forward, almost pushing me to the ground with the force of the pull.
"She should be the one going first anyway. Has a lot of spark in her." He commented with a snort that was shared with everyone standing with us.
Humiliation burned through me, especially when Christopher also shared his amusement over the comment. But it went away, just as soon as it had come. He suggested his head in a quick movement towards the doors and the soldier pulled me through.
The work with the doors was still being continued, even when one of their soldiers had fallen down.
It was the last barrier of protection that existed for estelle. When the doors would be broken down, there would be nothing that could help Estelle with the number of soldiers that had now joined Christopher.
The only hope I had was that Estelle had made changes in the Queensguard after she had become the Queen. Hopefully, she had made the number bigger and had kept a unit of soldiers in the palace that would be with her guard.
But it was all hope.
With one last push of the barrel towards the doors, they cracked and hung off their hinges. I flinched as the doors fell down after a few seconds of hanging on its last threads.
The bang created a huge impact that made my bones shiver. Every soldier raised their swords, ready to charge forward, but no one moved.
Why did no one move?
"Go." Christopher commanded from his position, and the soldier holding me moved. He pulled me, his grip now on my arm tightening.
Horror ran through my blood when I realized what they were doing. I was going in first. They were going to use me.
The distance between the door and me lessened and the soldier put me in front of him before stepping over the broken wood. The sound of a sword being taken out of its hold drew my attention, but something cold was pressed against my throat.
It was cold and sharp.
I froze.
"I suggest you remove the sword and your hands from her." The sound of lazy footsteps attracted our attention and someone walked out of one of the rooms. "I suggested it as soon as you can."
