The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 371: The mark - I
Catherine seemed to be enjoying the warmth the heavy blankets provided her. Looking at a peaceful and content face while she was sleeping, I did not have the heart to wake her up.
The content on her face, no frown lines, and her even breathing made me Greeley to let my sister sleep as long as she wanted. It was the only thing I could do to make her happy at the moment, except for providing her the comfort of warm and good food.
Who was I to take anything away from her, especially when she had lived in terror and witnessed something horrible?
That was too much for her age. With her sheltered, I had kept her from every thing happening around her. Even in the palace, this was something that threw her off the balance completely. I understood the fear she felt for the world now, especially when she was going to meet someone strange given that Gareld had done a good job in scaring her, and so had Laura.
The least I could do was make sure that my sister was sleeping peacefully for as long as she wanted.
So I exited her room, leaving as quickly as I possibly could to make sure that I did not wake her up. Only two candles were lit in her room, giving her the darkness she needed to sleep the entire night away.
I had also left one lady waiting in my room for her, in case she woke up. I needed something, Lena would be here to fetch it for her.
There was nothing to do today and Marilyn had left with the promise from me that I would call her once Catherine would wake up but since it did not seem like my sister was going to wake up anytime soon and I had nothing on my agenda today, I decided that it may be good to take a midnight stroll in the garden.
It had often helped me clear my mind, and usually, someone would always find me and join along for long enough to distract me from what I was thinking.
Irene stood in front of the door to my room with a shawl in her hand. About her, I had to admit that she might even turn out to be better than Marilyn. I just had a feeling that I could not place my finger on but something told me that Irene was going to be more beautiful and her loyalty had something to do with the relationship we shared Because of what I had with Tristan.
Wrapping it around me, she walked behind me with Bert behind her. I wanted to ask about Solomon, but I did not. He must’ve gone with Tristan.
Bert stopped in front of the garden but Irene walked with me in there.
My mind was on the letter my sister had written to me and sent with Solomon.
It felt like she was involved with what had happened with Katherine. Laura would not ever have been capable of taking Catherine away by herself. She would never have the money to keep my sister with her, to take her out of the capital. She would have been caught instantly when the palace would have raised the alarms that the youngest princess was missing. Since it was not, I believed that Estelle had something to do with it.
Otherwise, it would have been mentioned clearly that Katherine was missing but that nowhere to be found or something like that.
There was no way for me to also doubt the contents of the letter. Solomon was involved and I hardly believed that he would try to cheat me or Tristan. The letter was as true as it could be.
How could my sister miss anything like that to tell me? That was the only explanation I could come up with.
The country was not only a priority, we were also each other’s priority.
"Your grace," Irene’s whisper had me stop walking, "his highness is coming."
Tristan was coming? I frowned and turned around only to take a step back without close he was coming to me.
It did not do anything as he closed the distance in between us quickly. His hand crawled from my jaw to my ear, and he angled to my face upwards before connecting his lips to mine.
"He kisses me with a fierce demand, his tongue claiming my mouth with the same provocative rhythm as his fingers penetrating me." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
He kissed me with fierce demand, claiming my mouth as his own like it had always been in his right.
The other hand gripped the side of my waist, slowly moving towards the back. His touch made my skin dance, like it was on fire.
Pulling away, he kissing my jaw before kissing me under my chin and then my neck. His nose came to a stop at the crook of my neck before he remained there with his other hand, going to my waste as well. He was hugging me, but also breathing me in.
It took me more than a minute to get back to reality. Looking in front of me, I found no one around us. Irene had excused herself and I did not even know if she had said something or not.
Tristan was still hugging me or reading me in, whatever he was doing.
"Um," I cleared my throat, a silent attempt for him to back away, but he did not. If you continue to this, I might as well turn into a puddle exactly where I was standing.
"Tristan, is everything alright?"
"Yes."
He spoke right on top of my skin and that made me shiver.
"Then, can you move away? I would like to look at you when talking."
"Stop talking then." His voice was raspy, something that was more than enough to tell me that he was not in control completely.
So I let go and let him hug me in the middle of the garden where anyone could see us. Just because he wanted it.
And so did I, but just a little bit.
