The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 83: The Allied Regulatory Force
Chapter 83: The Allied Regulatory Force
The Allied Regulatory Force, ARF for short, was an organisation Mira had formed just about a year ago.
Why had she been gathering the strongest adventurers and warriors she could find?
It was because something was coming, something big. A being capable of trampling their city to dust.
Or at least that was what the shaman had said. At first, Mira did not give a rat’s ass about the babbling of a decrepit old woman with an alcoholic addiction.
That was until the adventurers began to submit strange reports.
Scavenger demons moving further out of the outer ring, Ogorax demons pairing together, and then—
The room began to rattle slowly, the overhead lamp blinking and her table vibrating like an alarm clock.
Everyone paused whatever they were doing and stared up at the ceiling. After a few long seconds, the shaking finally stopped.
This was the real kicker. Domum was a city free of natural disasters, and it didn’t take a genius to know that this earthquake was man-made.
Mira bit the insides of her cheek in annoyance.
Even with the overwhelming evidence, her old man refused to act, out of fear of the unknown. Because of this, she could not use the city’s powerful knights.
Hence her reliance on adventurers...
As a city living side by side with demons, the thought of a Demidon appearing to herd them had always been feared.
Demidons were not like regular demons. They were ruthless and calculating; they could think, formulate a plan, and act on it.
They were just as humans were, but of the demonic variant, and these Demidons were capable of controlling the mindless demons.
If one of them had truly arrived, then it would have an army of demons sitting just outside Domum.
If they didn’t act, then Domum would be swallowed up by the coming war.
Mira took a deep breath before speaking. "As you all know, adventurers have begun to disappear one by one, and currently the death toll stands at six."
"Death toll?" The hero, Elias, glanced at her. Surrounded by so many powerful foes, he was slowly shifting to his true ruthless personality.
The one he usually kept under multiple layers.
"Are you saying they are dead?" His voice was sharp and demanding, with a tiny hint of grief nestled within it.
Mira nodded. "It’s best to assume so. If the missing adventurers have anything to do with a Demidon, then it would mean they have started moving."
’I can’t tell them that their bodies have been found already, neither can I tell them the state they were in.’
It was a dirty thing to do, but most of the adventurers here may have their morale shaken if they truly knew what was waiting for them in those ruins.
Seeing no further protest, Mira then continued, "We can no longer wait before acting. Our force should be sufficiently strong.
"Whatever is causing this shift in the Skentic ruins must be tactically decimated."
The large shirtless man raised his hand, not waiting for acknowledgement before he began to speak. "You promised us a powerful ally last time we spoke. Don’t tell me you were talking about hero boy—"

Only a few people saw the movement, but before the giant could realise what was happening, a flash of gold blew past him.
An overbearing silence spread throughout the room, the metallic shrill of Elias sheathing his sword being the only audible noise.
Suddenly, blood spurted out of the giant’s finger, the crimson liquid rolling down from its rip down to his palm.
The man watched the hero with an intense expression, his teeth gritted and his hand moving close to his waist where a large dagger was holstered.
Palpable tension hung in the air like a thick cloud as the stalwart hero and the overbearing giant gauged themselves, each one an inch away from drawing steel.
Then suddenly...
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He suddenly began to laugh, surprising everyone. "I like him already, this kid has some spunk!"
The tension in the room suddenly dissipated and Mira sighed tiredly.
’Dealing with warriors is a pain. Why can’t they be like sentinels?’
Elias was powerful and a valuable member of the expedition, but he was truly just a cover in case she could not get their ace.
The infamous Princess thief, Wise Skyfire.
She then glanced at the masked man who was resting at the side of the room.
Sensing her gaze, he pushed himself from the wall and walked toward the princess, only to stop in front of her desk and face the crowd.
There was a commanding aura about him as his eyes took in everyone in the room. It was almost as though from a simple glance he had registered them permanently in his head.
Everything he did, from the way he crossed his toned arms to the way his dagger was half-drawn, spoke of chilling precision and skill.
"For this operation, I will be your commander. You may call me Sparrow."

Wise’s city home, Domum.
Knock Knock
Silence...
Knock Knock
More silence.
"Wise?" came a feminine voice from behind the door, but all that greeted her was a deafening silence.
"Wise, we are getting late. We have a meeting with Esme today, remember? We need to hurry up to the ruins and finish our work early!"
When there was no response from Wise, Esme pushed the door open and cautiously stepped inside the room.
Then she gasped just before her eyes brightened up.
Wise looked... different, to say the least.
For one, he was currently a mix of human and dragon. Long scaly wings had ripped his shirt to shreds and were now moving gently at his back.
His fingers were replaced by sharp talons, and on his head were two blue horns that were normally features of his dragon transformation.
But that was not all. His movements seemed strange, almost reptilian in nature, and his eyes had transformed to slits, embodying the full dragon aura.
He was standing in the centre of the room, his hand on his face as though he was having a headache, but when he turned to face her—
Esme suddenly felt her legs rattle as her heart began to race. Her breathing became raspy and she clung onto the door as though to run, but she held herself.
That was because he had unleashed his Draconic presence, something Wise never willingly did.
The man in front of her looked curiously around the room before his eyes settled on her.
"Wise? Who is Wise?"
"I am Theron SkyFire, First Prince of the Sky Mountains."
