The Prime Minister Seduced Me to have Babies!-Chapter 370: How Could I Live Without You
Early the next morning, Jiang Youzhi got up early.
Mrs. Chen was just coming out of the kitchen with a shopping basket when Jiang Youzhi took it over and said with a smile, "I’ll accompany you to the market today, Mom."
Mrs. Chen should have felt sad, yet she couldn’t help but be happy, "That’s great."
"If you come with me, those aunties at the market will be so envious."
"Envious that I have such a handsome son."
Jiang Youzhi chuckled, "Is that so? Well, who told my mom to be so blessed. Let them envy all they want."
Mother and son chatted and laughed as they went out.
Shortly after noon, Yun Jiao finished with her scheduled patients and had Zhang Shun and Liu Zhu close the door, posting a notice, "The owner has other matters today, closed for business." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Zhang Shun and Liu Zhu walked away cheerfully, glad to have half a day off.
Yun Jiao and Mrs. Chen, along with their daughter, were busy in the kitchen, while Guihua rarely got a break and took Yingzi out to the street to play, saying they’d be back after dinner.
Lao Jiu, worried about the mother and daughter, secretly followed them.
Ah Hu had already fetched Liu Lang and Gu Chuan back early and then said he had something to do, leaving with Lin Shuo.
Jiang Youzhi was still folding paper ingots with Liu Lang and Gu Chuan.
In the kitchen, Yun Jiao and Mrs. Chen prepared a meal.
As dusk approached, Mrs. Chen took out Da Lang’s memorial tablet, set it up, and placed offerings of fruits, chicken, duck, and fish.
Everyone took turns paying their respects.
Jiang Youzhi burned the folded gold ingots in front of the spirit tablet.
Afterwards, the family sat together for a meal, offering wine and setting bowls and chopsticks for Da Lang and Da Lang’s father.
Soon, the bowls and chopsticks were put away, marking the completion of the ritual.
After dinner, Mrs. Chen and Yun Jiao were in the kitchen washing dishes.
Mrs. Chen suddenly said, "Jiao Jiao, you’ve observed mourning for Da Lang for a year now."
"Initially, I was narrow-minded and said you should mourn for three years."
"From now on, if there’s a good suitor, feel free to consider your own future."
"If they don’t like us living here with you, we’ll just move out."
Upon hearing this, Yun Jiao said, "Mom, don’t talk about moving out. If I were to live without you, how would I manage?"
Mrs. Chen burst into laughter at this.
Sometimes, being needed by someone is a very happy thing.
"Then I won’t leave. And if someday, I’m in the way, I’ll pack up and go."
Mrs. Chen thought she understood San Lang’s intentions pretty well, although she had mentioned it before and was refused by San Lang, so she didn’t bring it up again.
Her hope was for Yun Jiao to continue being her daughter-in-law.
Yun Jiao had both looks and skills.
Moreover, she and her mother-in-law got along well, like a real mother and daughter. She didn’t have any other wishes, just that the family would always be happy together like this.
Then Mrs. Chen said, "From now on, don’t always wear those plain clothes."
"Make a few in red and green too."
"Young girls should dress brightly; wearing those pale colors makes your face seem colorless."
Yun Jiao didn’t really like bright red and green, so she said, "I just had a few new outfits made, maybe later."
She also understood Mrs. Chen’s intentions, that since she had mourned for a year, she no longer needed to mourn for Da Lang and thus didn’t need to wear somber colors.
Mrs. Chen looked at Yun Jiao, a bit anxious. This girl hadn’t realized yet, and over at San Lang’s place, it was almost as if a fire were under him, he was so urgent. The other day he was wearing that thin veil outside, yet with Yun Jiao, nothing stirred.
What to do!
