Sha Xin moved to stop them. He couldn’t let the trio escape. They were the fruits he intended for Huangquan, and without them, he could never regain his freedom.

The locust army fell in droves. Han Wu felt a sharp ache in his chest as he watched his locusts sacrifice themselves for him. He ordered the swarm to stop attacking and decided to contact his powerful units that were close to him.

He extended his senses and located one of them nearby. It was none other than Steely, who was locked in combat with another official. Upon receiving Han Wu’s command, Steely ignored the official and ran toward his God. The official wasn’t going to let him go so easily and chased after him.

Sha Xin stared anxiously at the locusts in the air. More continued to gather, layer upon layer, until the Soul Kingdom’s sky resembled a black sea. Yet none of the locusts descended. They were waiting for the powerful unit to help their God.

After taking in the sheer scale of the swarm, Sha Xin told the three to leave with him. He knew he was strong, but even he felt his confidence falter. The locusts were so numerous that even a World life form was intimidated. Even if Sha Xin unleashed his full power and struck countless times per second, it would take at least several hours to thin the swarm.

Han Wu knew now wasn’t the time to fight and pretended to agree. He moved slowly, stalling for time.

Sha Xin saw through him at once. Anger flared in his eyes. “I have three fruits, and I only need one to regain my freedom. Don’t test my limits!”

Han Wu grew serious. Victory was within reach. He couldn’t allow Sha Xin to injure either girl.

“I will cooperate with you,” Han Wu said while urging Steely to hurry.

Outside the Soul Kingdom, Han Wu was fiercely fighting against Huangquan. He had used his Microcosm and managed to land a swift strike. The latter tore his Microcosm free and tossed Han Wu’s to the side.

The Microcosm returned to Han Wu. A quick assessment told him that half of his army had entered Huangquan’s Soul Kingdom during that brief contact.

“Not much, but it's better than nothing,” Han Wu muttered.

Even half his army amounted to hundreds of billions. The troops were enough to defeat certain God Kings. Moreover, Sun Qingnian and most of Han Wu’s powerful units were among them. Han Wu trusted them.

Huangquan sensed the invasion at once. Panic gripped him, but he couldn’t do anything. Thankfully, the invading force included only a few World life forms.

He used his authority and issued a decree throughout the Soul Kingdom. With the entire kingdom under threat, he granted his officials special privileges to fight in the war. His own aura weakened by half. In return, close to half of his officials received a massive power boost that turned them into World life forms. Those officials who were already World life forms grew stronger still.

“Kill them!”

The empowered officials and the locust army clashed head-on.

At the same time, Sun Qingnian was inside the Soul Kingdom. He sat astride a Nine-Tail Fox, extending his senses to locate Han Wu’s Divine Soul. Behind him stood a powerful Earthsunder Wood Elf, Lina’s most powerful unit. Behind the Wood Elf, tree roots dragged a crystal coffin. Jing Jing’s body lay inside, as if asleep.

“Sun Qingnian, don’t stop. Say goodbye to your weak self!” he murmured as he closed in on Han Wu’s Divine Soul.

It didn’t take long to find them. Sun Qingnian waved at them, and Sha Xin immediately attacked. None of the 10,000 techniques could kill him, but together they could inflict significant damage.

The barrage blasted Sun Qingnian and his Nine-Tail Fox backward. At the critical moment, the Wood Elf summoned a massive wooden shield to absorb the aftershock and protect Jing Jing’s body.

Jing Jing sensed her body nearby and looked at Han Wu. He understood her intent. She wanted to return to her body and unleash her full might, but she needed time.

Han Wu nodded. He had to buy that time. Using Swap, he teleported twice and pulled both girls away from Sha Xin.

Caught off guard, Sha Xin burned with anger as the trio slipped from his grasp. His Divine Ring activated and rotated wildly. “My glorious God, Steely is here to save you!” Steely clapped his palms, and the massive Obsidrum greatsword turned into 100 smaller ones for him to grab.

“Obsidrum Judgement, Hurricane Slash!” Steely turned into a black tornado and charged straight at Sha Xin.
