The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend-Chapter 644 - Goal: Conquer the Divine River Civilization
Comments exploded across the livestream at blazing speed.
“Is this the true strength of the second-year valedictorian from Imperial College?”
“Alright, those from Imperial College, please don’t comment on anything. Ι was expelled from that place, so let me tell you the truth. Han Wu can only be the second-year valedictorian. Once he enters the third or the fourth year, he won’t even rank in the top ten.”
“He’s right. I am also a student from Imperial College. At this stage, we’re too embarrassed to greet anyone if we aren’t even World life forms. In fact, you might not even receive clearance to graduate if you are not a Major God by the end of the fourth year.”
“Is that true? That’s shocking if it is.”
“Hey, wait a minute. Demonic Imperial College, aren’t you guys at least half a globe away from Imperial College? How much Divine Essence did they pay you to advertise for them? I’ll pay double!”
Overall, Han Wu had become famous within the livestream.
Back in the field, Han Wu checked the black mark resembling a planet and frowned. After witnessing Karl’s Nether Realm, Han Wu doubted Karl was going to be some kind of philanthropist.
He resolved to investigate Karl once he returned to Imperial College. He was hoping that Xu Hai could get some information from the higher-ups. If that didn’t work, he would seek out the God King of Death and see what they could do about it.
He and the others gathered their belongings along with the World Death Aura Bugs and prepared to exit the field.
At that moment, the Will of the Divine River Civilization, which permeated the field, informed him that the Death Aura Bugs were virtual life forms animated by the energy of the Divine River Civilization. Thus, he couldn’t bring them back with him.
Han Wu’s expression darkened. He didn’t believe a single word. If they could bring back every piece of equipment that they had obtained from the match, why were the Death Aura Bugs suddenly off-limits?
He had a feeling that the Will of the Divine River Civilization was manipulating the rules to keep the Death Aura Bugs for itself.
In reality, that was actually the case. The Death Aura Bugs could defeat the Deathsworns with ease, and the Will of the Divine River Civilization had noticed that. It had decided to twist the rules to secure them. With them under its control, it could finally eliminate the Deathsworns that had plagued its side for a long time. For now, it had to wait for Han Wu and the others to leave.
Unfortunately for the Will of the Divine River Civilization, Han Wu was its enemy now. He refused to accept the decision. Since he couldn’t bring them with him, he would sacrifice them instead.
Once he set his mind on it, Han Wu equipped Sacrifice in one of the empty Ability Slots that he had accumulated after reaching Level 99 and activated it.
Sacrifice’s massive array appeared on the field, and he sacrificed all of the Death Aura Bugs, locusts, and mutated locusts. He left not a single one behind for the Divine River Civilization.
Once the array drained the Life Energy of the so-called virtual life forms, the familiar options appeared before Han Wu once more.
[Option 1: 10,000x Fourth-Series Gene Catalyst: Stubborn Locust]
[Option 2: 10x Second-Series Gene Catalyst: Berserk Heart]
[Option 3: 1x First-Series Gene Catalyst: Annihilating Lightning]
A broad smile spread across Han Wu’s face. He hadn’t expected that Sacrifice, when used within the field governed by the Divine River Civilization, would yield him the Gene Catalysts unique to that civilization.
He reviewed each option carefully.
Stubborn Locust would modify the consumer’s genes and grant two effects. First, it would transform them into a Locustman. Second, it would grant them exceptionally strong Life Energy. The Gene Catalyst’s effects were mediocre, but the sheer quantity made the option tempting.
Berserk Heart was several times stronger. Those who consumed it would ultimately unlock four effects: immunity to pain, enhanced strength, increased speed, and reinforced cardiac function. Each effect was modest on its own, but together they granted the wielder the power of a berserker. Unfortunately, there were only ten doses. At most, Han Wu could produce ten Super Genesoldiers.
He then checked Annihilating Lightning, which granted five lightning-based effects: increased lightning power, further amplification, overload capability, higher voltage output, and significantly greater destructive discharge. For someone who specialized in lightning, it was exceptional.
Han Wu immediately thought of Qin Shuang. He hadn’t seen her in a long time and missed her already. Without hesitation, he chose the third option and resolved to give it to her when they met again.
Soon after, everyone left the field. The Will of the Divine River Civilization returned to clear the field, eager to harvest Death Aura Bugs. Yet when it scanned the field, it realized that there was nothing there. This turned into a mystery that would haunt the rest of its existence.
On the other side, Han Wu’s return set the entire Imperial College ablaze with excitement. Everyone knew Han Wu was powerful, but they had never imagined he possessed such overwhelming strength. In the end, Han Wu used his own strength to defeat Deathwing. That feat would adorn the halls of Imperial College.
Yet the first to greet him weren’t the college’s higher-ups, but the Divine River Civilization’s experts. They quickly intercepted Han Wu and blocked the representatives from Imperial College.
Han Wu frowned. The Origin of Mutation and the others tensed, ready for battle.
“What’s wrong? Are the Super Genesoldiers from the Divine River Civilization here to fight outside the ring?” Han Wu asked.
The leader quickly raised a hand to show peaceful intent. “We are here to extend a formal invitation. Join the Divine River Civilization. We are willing to accept any condition that you name.”
Han Wu replied, “I will go to the Divine River Civilization.”
Relief flickered across their faces. They had expected Han Wu to demand an exorbitant price before agreeing.
“I will go there to conquer the Divine River Civilization!” Han Wu declared chillingly.
Their expressions darkened. The Divine River Civilization ranked among the stronger named civilizations. They stood on equal footing with the Divine Civilization and surpassed it in some aspects. Who gave Han Wu the audacity to utter such arrogant words?
The representatives of the Divine Civilization and the higher-ups of Imperial College hurried forward to protect Han Wu.
“Han Wu is exhausted and needs to return to rest. Goodbye,” a representative said as he stepped between them. “And the Divine River Civilization still owes us an explanation for this match!”
Without sparing the Divine River Civilization’s experts a glance, they quickly escorted Han Wu away.
The experts watched him go, torn between regret and unease. They recognized his potential, and the Origin of Mutation accompanied him. There was a chance that Han Wu would actually come and conquer them.
“Let’s head back to report to the Divine River Civilization,” the leader said at last.
The experts had no alternative. Any attempt to abduct Han Wu now would amount to suicide. Their only option was to relay every detail to the higher-ups and await further instructions.
Before departing, they left two Gene Catalysts behind. The first fulfilled the compensation that they had promised in the event of their defeat: the first-series Void Hunter.
The second came from their own reserves, offered as additional compensation to Han Wu. It was also a first-series Gene Catalyst, known as Omniversal.
