The Only Spatial Ability User In The Apocalypse-Chapter 91 Newcomers
Space energy surged out, covering the fox. The fox immediately nudged against Sylas happily. It squinted its eyes and relaxed.
"As expected, you are attracted to my space energy... but why?" Sylas muttered as he raised his hand to pet the fox.
The fox swayed its tails left and right happily.
The fox had a special attraction to his space energy, and Sylas had no idea why. Sylas thought of something and immediately decided to try it. He tried to let the fox enter his space.
To Sylas's surprise, the mutated fox disappeared, and when he sensed his space, he saw the fox reappearing inside it. As soon as the fox entered the space, it happily jumped around. After running around the space for a while, the fox ran towards the small pond and drank the water from it happily.
Sylas saw everything, and although he was puzzled, he didn't have much time to think about it. Now that there was nothing else obstructing his path, he immediately turned his head towards the highway. The fighting was still going on, so he headed towards it without wasting any time.
When Sylas finally made it out of the forest, he was stunned by the chaos on the highway.
The highway was nowhere to be seen. It couldn't be recognized. Asphalt, rocks, soil, tree branches, roots, charred remains, overturned and damaged cars filled the area.
His heart almost leaped out of his throat, but he immediately spotted the mutated wild boar collapsing on the ground and felt relieved. The ability users were no better, everyone was exhausted.
"Sylas!" Leo, who was helping the injured team members, immediately called out.
The others also noticed his arrival.
"Are you guys okay?" Sylas walked towards them. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"We managed to kill it with joint efforts," Major Kyle said as he sat on the ground, exhausted.
Sylas frowned and asked, "Don't you have zombie energy stones?"
"If we have them, we wouldn't be this exhausted," Major Kyle replied. They had been absorbing the energy stones they found on zombies and mutated creatures to level up their abilities, so they didn't have any extra.
"Next time, we should keep some for backup," Major Kyle uttered.
Leo helped with Dylan's injured shoulder and then quickly went to Serena's side to help her with her injured palm.
Sylas looked at the battlefield and knew that the mutated wild boar was very strong. He walked towards the corpse and cut open its head to check for the energy stone.
Sylas extracted a white-colored energy stone from its head and walked towards Major Kyle.
"This one has an energy stone," Sylas said, handing it to Major Kyle.
Since the mutated wild boar didn't have any ability, anyone could use this energy stone. The energy stone was a high-level one, so Major Kyle decided to keep it for now.
Looking at the highway, which now looked like an overturned rice field, Shuan shook his head. It looked like he had to repair it after resting for a while.
A few cars in front were damaged, and luckily, the other cars at the back, which had backed off instantly after the appearance of the mutated wild boar, were saved. The soldiers and civilians didn't dare to go out while the ability users and the mutated creature were fighting. Now, seeing that they had already killed the mutated creature, the soldiers first got out to help the exhausted ability users.
Sylas looked ahead and saw that the strange purple mist was still there. No one had dared to approach that area, and it looked like the mutated wild boar had also avoided that area.
"Everyone, we will take a rest here for a while," Major Kyle said.
He also looked at the strange purple mist on the highway ahead and felt a headache coming. Even though they had dealt with the mutated boar, there was still another problem waiting for them to deal with.
Major Kyle wanted to rest first and think about it later. Right now, he was too exhausted to think of other matters.
Sylas observed the purple mist, thinking of ways to deal with it. While the ability users were resting, he walked towards the strange purple mist. Then he stopped, standing three meters away from it.
Sylas already had a plan. Space energy surged out from his body, and the space near him rippled. Then slowly, a small spatial rift opened up. The spatial rift slowly expanded, and Sylas pushed it towards the purple mist. The spatial rift started to suck the purple mist inside.
Sylas focused on the spatial rift, and he immediately felt relieved when he saw it sucking away the poisonous purple mist.
"It's working!" Shuan looked at Sylas and said.
"It can be done this way?" Major Kyle stood up excitedly.
"Impressive..." Serena uttered.
Sylas felt his space energy depleting quickly after opening the spatial rift. If he couldn't clear this poisonous mist in one go, he planned to take a rest and clear it all in several rounds.
After some time...
"Why do I feel that the mist is not decreasing at all?" Leo suddenly said.
In fact, Sylas had also noticed it. The suction force of the spatial rift was very strong, and by now it should have cleared almost all the poisonous mist, if not all. But he felt that the poisonous mist had not decreased at all even though the spatial rift was constantly sucking it away.
Sylas frowned as he tried to maintain the spatial rift.
"What's going on?" Major Kyle uttered, looking at the poisonous purple mist.
"Strange... how come it's not decreasing at all?" Dylan also said.
"What should we do if even Sylas can't deal with it?" Shuan said with a worried expression.
Sylas, sensing his energy draining and seeing no results, slowly closed the spatial rift.
Letting out a deep exhale, Sylas narrowed his eyes and carefully looked at the purple mist. This poisonous purple mist was never-ending. Sylas was trying to find its source. After observing for a while with no results, Sylas planned to take a rest.
"It's okay, we will figure it out slowly. Take a rest for now," Major Kyle said to Sylas.
Sylas nodded his head in agreement.
After everyone regained their energy, Shuan immediately got to work. He started repairing the road that was damaged by their earlier fighting.
Meanwhile, everyone took this opportunity to fill their stomachs.
As Shuan was repairing the road, they heard the sound of cars coming from behind them.
Everyone looked behind and saw two cars approaching. Seeing the convoy of cars stopped in front of them, the two cars also stopped. From the two cars, a few people got out, looking ahead warily.
Seeing that they were military vehicles and noticing the soldiers, they immediately relaxed slightly and approached the soldiers to ask about the situation.
Sylas turned his head towards the newcomers and instantly discovered that there were ability users among them.
After understanding the situation, they also immediately walked ahead to look at the poisonous mist.
Seeing Shuan repairing the road with earth energy, one of the men observed him in amazement and said, "So there are earth abilities too..."
They immediately approached Major Kyle and introduced themselves.
After exchanging a few words, they learned that the newcomers were not native Northerners but travelers who got stuck in a small village after the apocalypse broke out. Luckily, some of them awakened abilities, allowing them to survive the apocalypse.
"Let's work together to deal with this poisonous mist," the tall man who seemed to be the leader and perhaps the strongest among them said.
"Sure, we have tried but it's tricky. You can take a look at it, but don't touch or enter the mist unless you want to die," Major Kyle warned them.
The tall man, who introduced himself as Gio, nodded his head and approached the purple mist with three of his companions.
They also stood three meters away from the purple mist and observed it.
"This is strange, there is no source at all," one of the men following Gio said with a frown.
Gio also frowned as he looked at the purple mist and said, "There must be a source or else it won't appear simply out of thin air."
"Sedin, did you smell anything?" Gio asked.
Sedin shook his head and said, "No, nothing."
He had the strongest sense of smell among them, but right now he couldn't smell anything. If he could smell the source, it would be helpful.
"Should we look around the forest?" Drew asked Gio.
"No, it looks like they have already looked," Gio said.
Sylas observed the newcomers and saw that all four of them were ability users.
Sedin sniffed and suddenly turned to look at Sylas.
Sylas immediately locked eyes with him.
"Let's go back and discuss it with Major Kyle to deal with it," Gio said.
"Okay," the other two replied.
"What happened?" Gio asked Sedin, who was sniffing and looking at Sylas.
