The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 62
“If you're strongly exposed to another Alpha's pheromones, usually, you'll either go into heat or faint. It won’t affect your life, but you’re essentially attacked by the pheromones.”
After Tae-seo regained consciousness, some basic treatment was given. Soon after, Jin Gyu-min came to check on him. Once he confirmed Tae-seo was fine, he gave a detailed update on his condition.
“However, as you know, Tae-seo is pregnant. This means concentrated Alpha pheromones can be very dangerous. For pregnant Omegas, other Alpha pheromones are harmful to the body. Fortunately, both Tae-seo and the baby are fine.”
“Thank you for saving me.”
“Thank Se-heon, not me.”
Jin Gyu-min also explained what Se-heon had done.
“Se-heon didn’t just carry Tae-seo here when he collapsed. All the way here, he continuously released his pheromones to push away the other Alpha pheromones that were attached to Tae-seo. And he didn’t even know why Tae-seo collapsed. Isn’t that funny?”
Apparently, he didn’t like the other Alpha pheromones. Jin Gyu-min muttered while mocking his friend’s actions.
“Result-wise, that’s what kept Tae-seo from becoming in danger. It’s a bit embarrassing to say this, but Se-heon’s instincts are sharper than his rationality. Even when doing business, he’s good at choosing what’s likely to succeed and dismissing what won’t. I used to curse him for being like an animal.”
Jin Gyu-min’s words were unclear whether he was talking as a doctor about Tae-seo’s condition or criticizing his friend, but his affection for Se-heon was clear. Tae-seo, who was biting his lower lip, struggled to hold back laughter. It seemed that if he stayed quiet, he might hear even more stories about Se-heon from Jin Gyu-min.
“How does he always manage to find the perfect business opportunities?”
Beast, ghost. Hearing those words referring to Se-heon, Tae-seo casually glanced at his hand. Before hearing this explanation, there had been some doubt in his mind. It felt like someone had been holding his hand while he was unconscious, but it wasn’t a mistake.
“The conversation’s getting long. Anyway, Tae-seo, you’ll be staying in the hospital for a while and undergo a few tests. Think of it as rest time.”
“Thank you.”
“While you’re resting, make sure to keep Se-heon busy. He’s practically living in the hospital. I’ll be interested to see how long that lasts. And I’ll have to tell the chairman, too.”
Tae-seo, who had been trying to keep a serious tone during the conversation, finally burst into laughter. He could hold back only so much before it was impossible.
“You look good when you’re smiling. Oh, there’s something I’ve been wondering.”
With a smile still on his face, Tae-seo looked up at Jin Gyu-min, who took something small from his pocket and handed it to him.
“Have you ever seen a bottle like this?”
“...No, I haven’t.”
“Hmm... The pheromones from the other Alpha that were on you weren’t from just one person. These are pheromones from several Alphas compressed together, and they’re usually stored in bottles like this. Of course, it’s illegal.”
Jin Gyu-min showed the bottle around as he spoke, and although Tae-seo looked at it, he didn’t recognize it, shaking his head. Seeing his genuine confusion, Jin Gyu-min put the bottle back into his pocket.
“Did anything seem different to you? Or anything strange, maybe?”
Jin Gyu-min, looking more like a detective now, crossed his arms and asked, and Tae-seo tried to recall the events of that day.
Meeting Seo Da-rae was different from the usual, but mentioning him felt uncomfortable. It almost felt like accusing Seo Da-rae as the culprit.
“There was nothing strange. At least, not that I felt.”
“But things like this don’t happen for no reason. We’ll need to take some time and find out the cause. Maybe something happened before that you didn’t notice...”
Jin Gyu-min emphasized the need to find the cause, but Tae-seo still hadn’t seen any such bottle anywhere.
“Stop.”
Someone who had just entered the room caught onto Tae-seo’s discomfort and spoke up. Tae-seo, brightening up, called out for Se-heon.
“Did you come, hyung?”
When Se-heon returned after briefly stepping out, Jin Gyu-min uncrossed his arms and waved his hand.
“You’re back.”
“I already said I don’t know, why do you keep asking?”
“Well, we have to find out where it happened, don’t we? You don’t want to know?”
Jin Gyu-min shot the question back at Se-heon. The question implied that someone had bad intentions toward Tae-seo, and there was no way Se-heon would just let it slide. However, Se-heon seemed to ignore Jin Gyu-min’s words and walked past him to approach Tae-seo.
“I brought porridge.”
Se-heon, checking the time, set the meal tray in front of Tae-seo and started preparing for him to eat. He took out a bowl, filled it with porridge, poured soy sauce into a small dish, and prepared a glass of water. As he was doing this, Jin Gyu-min quietly withdrew and smirked.
“You didn’t buy it, you brought it yourself. How should I react to this kind of care?”
“There’s nothing for you, so go buy it if you want it.”
“I didn’t expect anything. What can I expect from you, always so kind to Tae-seo?”
Se-heon had probably made the porridge himself while he was briefly away. Jin Gyu-min, saying he didn’t want anything, gave Tae-seo a quick glance before he turned to leave.
“I’ll see you during the next rounds. If you’re feeling unwell, just call.”
“Yes, thank you.”
“Enjoy the porridge.”
Jin Gyu-min gave Se-heon a light pat on the shoulder before leaving the room. He also gently tapped Tae-seo’s head as if to remind him to remember. Once Jin Gyu-min left, Tae-seo looked down at his hand instead of looking at Se-heon. But before Se-heon could think it was strange, Tae-seo lifted his head and picked up a spoon.
“My parents came by this morning and left.”
“Really? They were worried, but they left so quickly.”
“I told them to go. They kept trying to put it off because they’re busy.”
Tae-seo shook his head as he thought about his parents. He knew they were busy, and he also knew they loved him. That’s why he couldn’t ask them to stay and focus on him. It wasn’t necessary, and he was fine with it.
Tae-seo, with the spoon in his mouth, looked at the person sitting in front of him. He felt guilty toward his parents, but being with Kang Se-heon made him feel much more at ease and content. Whenever Kang Se-heon was about to leave, he couldn’t help but feel how much he missed him, and the bond between them felt stronger than ever.
“You can have regular food tomorrow, so just hang in there a bit longer.”
“I could eat porridge tomorrow too.”
Tae-seo stirred the porridge, which already smelled delicious, and smiled faintly. Thanks to the different types of porridge Se-heon had been bringing every day, it was easy to swallow, even without rice. The fact that Se-heon kept caring for him and staying by his side made him feel incredibly comforted.
“Sure, if you want, I’ll make it as much as you want. But for now, let’s treat porridge as a snack.”
Se-heon reached out toward Tae-seo. Not only did he adjust the hospital bed, but he also placed a pillow behind Tae-seo’s back to make him more comfortable. When Tae-seo shifted his back slightly and tested the position, it was even more comfortable than before.
“You’re handsome, good at your work, and even great at taking care of me. Is there anything you can’t do?”
“I don’t know. So I’m planning to find out from now on.”
Se-heon smoothly deflected the question about what he couldn’t do, and Tae-seo burst into laughter. But then, he seemed to suddenly remember something, raising the spoon high. In the process, some porridge spilled onto his fingers. Unlike Tae-seo, who didn’t mind at all, Se-heon immediately grabbed a wet tissue and wiped the porridge off his fingers.
“There is something you can’t do.”
“You think you know something I don’t?”
“The baby.”
As Se-heon paused, Tae-seo continued.
“You still don’t know much about the baby, do you? It’s like being a beginner.”

“True, I don’t.”
“By the way, I thought of a name for our baby.”
Tae-seo dipped the spoon back into the porridge.
“I thought of it when my parents congratulated me.”
“Really?”
Tae-seo didn’t drag it out; he immediately answered, wanting to share the name.
“Blessing.”
He had been thinking about it for a while but had forgotten to mention it until now. Since they were talking about the baby, he decided to mention the pre-birth name he had thought of. Then, he waited for Se-heon’s reaction, eager to know ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) whether he liked it. Se-heon, however, remained silent, simply humming without offering a response.
Tae-seo, unable to hold back, was about to urge him when Se-heon finally nodded.
“I like it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. It’s a blessing for us. The meaning is nice, and it’s easy to call. I like how ‘Bok’ sounds, a little quaint, but in a good way.”
“So you like something a bit old-fashioned? I’ve heard that your taste in new products is just as impressive, but was that all a lie?”
“Everyone likes something refined, but there’s a charm to something a little old-fashioned. So, in product design, we should choose things that have a bit more warmth, not just sleekness. That way, when the new model comes out, people will want to buy it and keep upgrading their phones.”
Se-heon freely shared his business secrets in front of Tae-seo.
“Can I use that idea later?”
“Do whatever you want.”
Despite Se-heon’s expression suggesting that it wasn’t guaranteed to work, Tae-seo ignored it and waved the spoon around.
“In that case, tomorrow, can you make a salad with yuzu dressing, a sandwich with apples, and watermelon juice?”
“Shouldn’t you be calling the baby fruit then?”
“That’s not it. These are just things that come to mind right now, but I eat everything usually. So, how about we call it ‘Fruit-Meat-Rice,’ combining everything?”
“...That’ll make the porridge cold.”
Not able to stand it, Se-heon pointed at the porridge. Tae-seo confidently scooped the porridge and put it in his mouth, only to spit it out because it was too hot.
Despite the small mishap in front of Se-heon, Tae-seo continued to eat the porridge with determination, lowering his eyes to hide his feelings.
‘Could it really have been Seo Da-rae?’
Jin Gyu-min’s words about how he wasn’t in danger but had been attacked with pheromones kept swirling in his mind, unable to leave.
