Chapter 73 - 072: Confirming feelings Together binge-watching series

"Not bad." Yu Zhi lowered her gaze, fiddling with her fingertips absentmindedly.

The two of them chatted aimlessly for a while. When Ruan Yuan brought up a foreigner she had encountered a couple of days ago who had made her heart flutter, Yu Zhi's gaze flickered.

She quietly stared at the woman on the screen for a long moment before slightly shifting, feeling a bit uneasy. "I have something I want to ask you."

"What is it?" Ruan Yuan, seated on the tatami mat, casually glanced out at the vast expanse of the blue sea.

Yu Zhi's lashes trembled lightly. "I have a friend... she met a guy. That guy often hugs her and even holds her hand... what does that mean?"

The more she spoke, the softer her voice became, clearly revealing something was out of sorts.

Ruan Yuan paused, noting the blush that dusted the tips of Yu Zhi's ears. A faint smile curled at the corner of her lips. "Besides holding her and hugging her, is there more?"

At those words, the scene that had unfolded in the backyard slowly replayed in Yu Zhi's mind. Pressing her lips together, she whispered shyly, "They kissed."

"Where?" Ruan Yuan immediately straightened up, her eyes lighting up excitedly, abandoning even her beloved coffee.

"On the face, kissed her face."

The moment those words left Yu Zhi's mouth, a thin layer of blush painted her cheeks, like a tantalizing peach that nobody could resist wanting to savor.

"Just the face?" Ruan Yuan raised an eyebrow inwardly, scolding the guy for being too timid.

If she were a man, she would've certainly been far less restrained with someone like Yu Zhi.

Yu Zhi nodded, her voice carrying a hint of nervousness. "Do you know what he means by that?"

"Isn't it obvious? That guy definitely likes her."

"Likes her?"

"What else could it be?" Ruan Yuan knew Yu Zhi hadn't dated before, but she hadn't expected she'd be this clueless.

Patiently, she analyzed and explained, then confidently declared, "Trust me, from my years of experience, he absolutely likes you."

"It's not me..." Yu Zhi's cheeks flamed even brighter, her eyes darting away from the conversation.

But the more she behaved like this, the more it felt like she was giving herself away.

"Alright, alright, it's your 'friend.'" Ruan Yuan decided not to expose her truth. The two had been friends for so long, after all. She understood Yu Zhi's personality quite well.

Tough and unapologetic when dealing with others, but when it came to matters of the heart, she was unbearably shy.

She recalled how during their time abroad, golden-haired men often hit on Yu Zhi, asking for her contact info. While Yu Zhi rejected them every time, their persistence always left her flustered.

Now that things had escalated to hugging and kissing, it was another level entirely.

Ruan Yuan saw Yu Zhi stop speaking and launched into a series of questions. "What does she think? No—what does *your friend* think? Does she like him?"

"I don't know." Yu Zhi was still in a daze, seemingly unable to fully grasp what liking someone truly meant.

Ruan Yuan: "..."

She took a deep breath, resolutely deciding to play matchmaker.

Ruan Yuan sipped her coffee to moisten her throat. "Liking means that whenever that guy gets close, she blushes and doesn't reject any of his affectionate gestures. Also..."

The more Ruan Yuan elaborated, the more Yu Zhi's heartbeat accelerated, pounding like a deafening drum. 'Thump, thump, thump'—it wouldn't stop.

Blushing, not rejecting... they perfectly mirrored everything she experienced with Shi Wei.

No matter how much she wanted to deny it, she couldn't lie to her own heart.

"Got it now?" Ruan Yuan raised her coffee cup again only to find it empty.

She clicked her tongue lightly, walked over to the coffee table, and poured herself a glass of plain water.

Yu Zhi responded softly. Looking at Ruan Yuan, she seemed muddled: "So my friend... what should she do?"

It was her first time encountering something like this. While she found the situation intriguing, she had no idea how to manage this intimate kind of relationship.

"Nothing. Just wait for that guy to confess his feelings." Ruan Yuan picked up her phone from the sofa and scrolled through it. "I'll send you a few K-dramas. You should brush up on these first."

Once she finished sending them all, Ruan Yuan emphasized her advice several times before hanging up the call.

After that exchange, Yu Zhi no longer felt sleepy. Her thoughts focused entirely on the K-dramas. The first one she clicked on featured a mermaid on the cover—"Legend of the Sea."

**

Near dusk, Shi Wei knocked lightly on the bedroom door. "Zhizhi, are you awake yet?"

He waited outside for a few minutes, but the person inside showed no sign of responding.

Shi Wei, feeling a little concerned, pushed the door open. Finding the girl engrossed, wearing headphones and fixated on her computer screen, he raised an eyebrow.

He walked towards her quietly, naturally wrapping an arm around her slender waist.

The familiar scent reached her, and Yu Zhi turned slightly to glance at him, suddenly feeling a bit tense. "Why are you here?"

Shi Wei removed her headphones and leaned towards her neck, his breath hot against her skin. "Wanted to see you."

Even though they had only been apart a few hours, he felt the ache of yearning intensely.

Those words struck differently now, resonating in Yu Zhi's heart, which had recently shifted.

Though still not fully accustomed to it, this time, she didn't shy away from his touch.

Noticing her subtle change, ripples of joy stirred in Shi Wei's chest. His lips brushed her neck lightly, almost unintentionally. "Didn't nap at noon?"

"No." She lowered her gaze, the skin on her neck visibly turning a delicate pink hue.

Shi Wei chuckled softly, his low and husky voice akin to a cello's, easily striking a chord deep within.

He glanced at the paused scene on her computer screen. "Zhizhi, what are you watching?"

"A K-drama." With cheeks slightly flushed, Yu Zhi held out an earbud to him. "Want to watch?"

"Mm. Help me put it on."

Yu Zhi looked at his arms still holding her waist. Hesitating briefly, she still helped him put on the earbud.

Shi Wei smirked faintly, repositioning the laptop onto his knees and pulling her closer into his embrace, letting her lean against his shoulder.

A stream of Korean dialogue seeped into their ears. Shi Wei watched intently for a few minutes before admitting he was still somewhat lost.

He ruffled her hair gently. "Zhizhi, what happened earlier?"

"..." Yu Zhi stared at the bold "Episode 5" displayed on the screen, only then realizing where they were.

She briefly summarized the key plot to him. "The female lead went to find the amnesiac male lead. He kicked her out of the house."

Shi Wei's gaze remained fixed on her lips, rosy and inviting. He leaned down, stopping just inches away from her lips.

Softly and indulgently, he lingered, before ultimately restraining himself and placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Still watching?" Yu Zhi, increasingly flustered after being teased repeatedly, spoke with a hint of embarrassed annoyance.
