The Obsessive Tycoon Claims the Deserted Heiress-Chapter 45 - 044: Teach Zhou Lu a Lesson
Chapter 45 - 044: Teach Zhou Lu a Lesson
"Sister, I know you don't like me, but you can't sulk and not come home all night just because of that."
Yu Xinman spoke, her eyes turning red again: "Do you know how worried I was?"
Her words carried far too much information, and the surrounding classmates couldn't help but gasp audibly. Even the way they looked at Yu Zhi turned slightly odd.
Taking in all of this, a strange pleasure stirred deep in Yu Xinman's heart. She clenched her palms tightly, her tear-filled eyes brimmed over right afterward.
"Finished with your performance?" Yu Zhi's expression carried displeasure, her gaze ice-cold enough to chill: "Done with your act? Then get lost."
If she had known this person was such a nuisance, she would have dealt with her directly in the beginning—it would've saved her from hopping around endlessly in her view every day.
"You..."
Yu Xinman felt the raw sting of humiliation deeply. She bit her lip hard, her body trembling uncontrollably, as though overcome with rage.
'Bang—'
The sound of a hand slapping a desk echoed through the classroom. Zhou Lu stepped forward and pulled Yu Xinman behind her, taking a protective stance.
"How dare you talk like that? Who are you telling to get lost?!"
Zhou Lu glared furiously at Yu Zhi, her expression as though she wished to rip apart her mouth.
"Are you deaf?" Yu Zhi let out a disdainful laugh, her attitude brimming with contempt.
She leaned leisurely against the white wall, showing not even the slightest regard for the two in front of her.
"Yu Zhi, what's with your arrogance?" Zhou Lu's face shifted between shades of pale and blue, stifled by anger.
In an attempt to regain her composure, her words turned increasingly venomous: "Not coming home all night—didn't you go off to some filthy place with someone disgusting?"
As soon as those words were spoken, the entire classroom fell silent in an instant.
Upon hearing this, Yu Zhi's gaze darkened bit by bit, becoming murky and bottomless like an abyss.
She rose slowly, unhurriedly, carrying an almost mocking smirk: "Didn't brush your teeth this morning?"
"Wh—what?" Zhou Lu retreated half a step, visibly uneasy.
Yu Zhi curled her lips slightly, unscrewed the cap of a water bottle on the desk, and gave it a gentle shake in her hand.
Tilting her head, she leaned close to Zhou Lu's ear and whispered, "No worries if you didn't—I'll help you."
Without giving the other any time to react, Yu Zhi swiftly grabbed Zhou Lu's jaw and forcibly poured water into her mouth.
"Mmph... mmph..." Zhou Lu appeared on the verge of choking, her face and neck turning a deep shade of red.
Her eyes widened in terror as she struggled, twisting her body desperately in an attempt to break free, yet she was powerless.
Finally, in the moment she felt hopeless, the water bottle fully emptied.
Yu Zhi let go, and Zhou Lu crumpled to the ground, liquid streaming from her nostrils, mingling with tears that ran down to her neck, leaving her utterly disheveled.
"Ah!!" Yu Xinman let out a delayed cry after witnessing the entire scene.
She clung to the edge of the desk, her small face paling visibly at an alarming rate.
The classmates who had been avidly watching the drama hesitated to step forward, fearing they themselves might be drawn into the chaos. They even turned their heads away, feigning ignorance as though nothing had ever happened.
With a few minutes left until class began, sounds of cheerful chatter came from outside the classroom. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Three to five students walked in, but upon seeing the scene before them, they each froze, and even their laughter abruptly ceased.
Lu Li pushed through the crowd blocking his way, striding briskly toward the back rows of the classroom.
He eyed Zhou Lu, sitting on the floor, her expression vacant, gasping for breath, clutching her chest. His deep eyes flickered slightly: "What happened here?"
Yu Zhi raised her eyebrows, casually fiddling with the pen in her hand: "Her mouth stank too much."
Lu Li: "..."
Frowning slightly, he was about to ask another classmate when a sweet, delicate voice sounded behind him.
"Classmate Lu..."
Yu Xinman, as if finding a source of support, looked pitifully at him.
She stepped forward to tug at Lu Li's sleeve, her eyes bloodshot, as though they'd been soaked in water: "I... I don't know why things turned out like this. I clearly..."
Yu Xinman hesitantly recounted the situation, placing emphasis on how her concern over Yu Zhi not returning home had led her to seek her out.
But she made no mention whatsoever of Zhou Lu's earlier remarks.
"Lu Lu only argued with my sister because of me—it's all my fault..." Yu Xinman bit her lip firmly, her small face full of remorse.
She lifted her teary eyes to look at Lu Li, her gaze pleading: "Could we not report this to the teacher? My sister's college entrance exams are coming up soon—she can't afford—"
Before she could finish her sentence, a black pen flew toward her from the side, aimed right toward the space near her cheek.
Yu Xinman froze in fright, unable to react. Before she had a chance to dodge, the pen had already streaked past the strands of hair near her ear, making a sharp 'whoosh' sound as it landed on the podium.
"You have one minute. Get out." Yu Zhi radiated an air of cold resentment, her gaze sharp like stabbing needles, icy and dangerous.
Seeing her increasingly impatient expression, Lu Li took the opportunity to pull his sleeve out of Yu Xinman's grip.
"Class is about to begin. You should head back now." He gave Yu Xinman a glance; his handsome face bore not a trace of expression, leaving his thoughts unreadable.
Upon hearing this, Yu Xinman's hands tightened by her sides. She dug her nails into her palms, leaving crescent-shaped marks.
"Alright, thank you, Classmate Lu." Suppressing the intense negative emotions brewing inside her, Yu Xinman forced a sweet smile.
Once she'd helped Zhou Lu completely out of Lu Li's line of sight, he turned abruptly and went to sit at an empty spot beside Yu Zhi.
"You..." Lu Li parted his lips slightly, hesitated for a moment, then finally asked, "Did you really not go home last night?"
Yu Zhi responded with a light "Mm." She retrieved another pen from inside her desk and began fiddling with it absentmindedly.
"Were you at a hotel? Or at a friend's house?" Lu Li's tone carried a hint of probing.
It wasn't that he didn't trust her; he simply wanted to know her every move.
"Hotel." Yu Zhi leaned idly against the white wall as if she were boneless. Her gaze lowered slightly, her long eyelashes overshadowing a trace of darkness in her eyes.
Lu Li nodded. Fixing his focus on her, he added with genuine concern: "If you ever have nowhere to go, you can call me."
Then he added another sentence: "It's not safe for you to stay out alone."
Given her awkward status within the Yu Family, this sort of situation was bound to happen again.
Instead of letting her fend for herself outside, it would be better if he could offer her a refuge.
"What isn't safe?" Yu Zhi lifted her eyelids slightly, seeming puzzled. She'd been living alone for years—it seemed fine so far.
Lu Li: "..."
He sighed helplessly and patiently began explaining to her various cases involving single women being robbed, assaulted, and violated.
