The Obsessive Crown Prince Can't Let Me Go-Chapter 135 - 133: Shen Zhaozhao, Am I Good to You?
Chapter 135: Chapter 133: Shen Zhaozhao, Am I Good to You?
Lu Ying was indifferent: "If the arrow veers, it veers. Eventually, one will hit."
As the words landed, a feathered arrow whizzed toward Qin Lunan with a sharp "whoosh"!
Seeing the arrow screech toward him, Qin Lunan’s eyes filled with rage and panic as he frantically struggled mid-air. But it was all in vain—he could only watch helplessly as the sharp arrow embedded itself into his ankle. His face went deathly pale, and a muffled groan escaped his lips.
"Ah!"
Shen Yinning feigned innocence: "Brother Lu Ying, I missed."
"Try again."
Lu Ying held her, nocking another arrow onto the bowstring.
Shen Yinning obediently narrowed her eyes, her expression mimicking that of a novice learning archery—clumsy yet endearing.
In no more than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Qin Lunan, suspended in mid-air, was pierced by so many arrows that he resembled a porcupine!
And yet, every arrow missed his vital organs, leaving him trapped between life and death—unable to live, unable to die!
Through heavy, half-closed eyelids, he gazed at Shen Yinning with unbridled terror.
Shen Yinning...
She was purposefully tormenting him!
This woman, outwardly stunning and radiantly innocent, hid beneath her beauty a heart of malice and deceit!
Her return to the Capital was no accident!
She seduced the Crown Prince to gain her way back into the city!
She sought revenge for Shen Zhi and Shen Xingye; she aimed to retaliate against those who destroyed her family three years prior!
His death tonight was not because he stumbled upon her tryst with the Crown Prince—it was preordained. She had intended to exact her revenge on him from the start. Qin Lunan was but the first target in her vendetta!
Shen Yinning was a demon crawling out from the pit of Hell!
Blood dripped steadily to the ground, seeping into the cracks of the floorboards like crimson rivers.
The rope binding Qin Lunan was severed by a single arrow from Shen Yinning.
Qin Lunan, feeling life slipping away, mustered what strength he had left to crawl toward the door.
He wanted to relay his discovery to Shen Yunxi and Shen Xinghan, for them to uproot Shen Yinning and kill her swiftly!
Bleeding profusely, he dragged a long, dark trail of blood behind him. Under the flickering candlelight, the sight was a visceral shock, a haunting tableau of death and desperation.
Perhaps finding the stench of blood too overwhelming, Lu Ying furrowed his brows and signaled Gui Quan with a look.
Gui Quan immediately pushed open half of the door.
Cold wind, mingled with icy snowflakes, howled into the room, making the few lit candles flicker unsteadily.
Shen Yinning rose and walked barefoot to the edge of the bed.
Her long black hair danced wildly in the air.
She gathered her locks with one hand and bit the tips of her hair with her lips.
The girl’s amber pupils shimmered with a watery brightness. Her crow-dark hair and snow-white skin interwove under the rosy accents of her lips, creating an image of savage allure and untamed seduction—like a wild beast that could not be tamed.
She nocked another arrow and aimed at Qin Lunan.
The final arrow.
The piercing whistle of the feathered arrow was drowned out by the howling wind and snow. In the blink of an eye, the cold steel tip embedded itself straight into the junction of Qin Lunan’s nape and spine.
Qin Lunan’s crawling abruptly ceased.
The room fell silent, leaving only the relentless howling of the northern wind.
De Sun stepped forward to check for signs of life and reported, "Crown Prince, he is dead."
"Take him away."
Shen Yinning watched as Qin Lunan’s corpse was dragged out of the room and thrown into the snow, then dissolved with Corpse Dissolving Powder until nothing was left but a puddle of water—erasing all traces of his existence from this world.
Her face remained cold and unfeeling as she stood for a moment, watching, before discarding the bow and turning into Lu Ying’s arms.
She whispered softly, "Your Highness, I am so afraid!"
Lu Ying stroked her dark hair and leaned down to kiss her soft lips and cheeks.
"Zhaozhao, has this prince not treated you well?"
"Since Father, Brother, and Mother passed, Your Highness has been the kindest to me in this whole world."
"Will you betray me?"
"I will always remain loyal to Your Highness."
The girl’s tender whispers, in the long stillness of the snowy night, were like the beguiling murmurs of a siren.
Her full, tender lips brushed lightly over Lu Ying’s nose, cheeks, and neck, like a dragonfly skimming the water, before finally settling on his thin lips.
A fleeting touch.
Just as she moved to pull away, Shen Yinning slowly lifted her gaze, locking eyes with Lu Ying’s deep and dark pupils.
Their gazes intertwined—like lightning igniting a wildfire, it sparked an uncontrollable blaze. Inch by inch, threads of heat entwined them, thickening the tension into a web of passion.
That fleeting kiss turned into an insatiable exchange of fervor, unrelenting and boundless.
Lu Ying clasped Shen Yinning’s slender waist, flipping her onto the plush sapphire velvet. He deepened the kiss relentlessly, only stopping when Shen Yinning, breathless and flushed, could take no more.
Gasping for air, Shen Yinning opened her eyes to find Lu Ying’s face mere inches from her own, their breaths mixing together.
"Zhaozhao..."
Lu Ying murmured her courtesy name, giving her no respite.
Years of training had gifted him a solid physique—a muscular frame and lean waist exuded raw power. His prowess in bed rivaled his commanding presence in the court; he needed no guidance from Shen Yinning to utterly ravage her.
Beads of sweat formed on his temples as he drove himself harder, determined to conquer this bewitching and cunning woman entirely—
To bind her so tightly she could neither break free nor escape, enslaving her to him for life!
The dampness of spring night spread over the bedding.
That night, Shen Yinning fell into a fainted slumber.
By dawn—
Early that morning, Shen Yunxi arrived with Nurse Zhang and other servants in tow.
Their original intention was to catch an affair, but upon bursting in, there was only Shen Yinning in the room.
"This humble wife greets Your Highness." Shen Yinning had already tidied herself up and rose to give her respects. "Your Highness rises early today."
Shen Yunxi surveyed the room, finding no trace of Qin Lunan, and was deeply disappointed.
Shen Yinning said gently, "Is Your Highness searching for something?"
Snapping back to her senses, Shen Yunxi’s expression turned awkward: "No... nothing..."
Shen Yinning smiled faintly. "Thank you, Your Highness, for allowing this humble wife to stay the night. Now that the snow has stopped, it is time for me to return home."
Having failed to accomplish her goal, Shen Yunxi’s mood soured. Stretching out her words arrogantly, she mocked, "Stay and have breakfast before you leave. Poor elder sister, married off to a small household like the Gao Family. It must’ve been years since you’ve had anything good to eat. Capital life is expensive—I’ll bet even their home can’t measure up to a mere guest room in the Duke Mansion. A fair flower wasted on dung—how pitiful!"
Shen Yinning lowered her head and chuckled softly.
How forgetful Shen Yunxi was—how could she forget that Shen Yinning was not only Gao Zheng’s wife but also the renowned Lady of the Capital?
A mere painting from her hand could fetch a fortune.
Still, she replied humbly, "What Your Highness says is true. This humble wife is aware of her impoverished state and is no match for Your Highness’s grace and poise. I simply hope Your Highness can find it in her heart, for the sake of our former sisterly bond, to aid my husband."
Shen Yunxi, entertained by her submission, lifted her chin with satisfaction and grew less concerned about Qin Lunan.
"Shen Yinning, at least you know your place. Your calligraphy is quite good. When I’m free, I’ll summon you to the Eastern Palace to teach me. If you teach me well, I’ll persuade the Crown Prince to favor your husband. But if you teach poorly—watch your skin!"
She finished her scolding, relishing Shen Yinning’s humble posture, and smugly turned to leave.
Just as she stepped out of the room, Shen Yinning’s voice called out from behind, "May I ask Nurse Zhang to stay a moment?"
Nurse Zhang paused, looking toward Shen Yunxi for direction.
Receiving a nod, she replied with a stern face, "What does Miss Yinning wish to say?"
Shen Yinning bowed slightly, her tone full of sincere regret. "I always believed you were the one who caused my mother’s death, hence the resentment I bore you. But I never imagined that last night, you would so kindly remind me about my cousin from the Qin Family. It seems I misunderstood you in the past. Please accept my apology here and now."
Nurse Zhang’s face paled in an instant.
When had she ever mentioned that to Shen Yinning last night?!
Before she could clarify, Shen Yinning had already glided gracefully out of the room.
She hurriedly chased after her. "Miss Yinning!"
"Slap!"
Shen Yunxi’s palm struck Nurse Zhang across the face.
Nurse Zhang was left stunned. "Your Highness?!"
"You wretched old hag!" Shen Yunxi fumed. "I was wondering how Qin Lunan could’ve failed, and now I see it’s because you leaked information to Shen Yinning!"
"Your Highness, this servant didn’t—!"
"If you didn’t, then why did she apologize to you, who she holds responsible for her mother’s death?!"
