The Newlywed's Sweet Honey: Husband, Pamper Me to the Bone!-Chapter 1056: Lingering Feelings (6)
This fool!
She was completely set up!
Su Wanwan was furious, but also a little guilty. She suspected Zhou Miaomiao had figured something out.
"Uh, I’ll head off first." She shouldered her drawing board, not daring to look him in the eye, she kept her head down and was about to leave.
"Su Wanwan, what are you afraid of?" Mu Yuze suddenly asked, "Or... are you feeling guilty?"
"Who’s feeling guilty?" She snapped her head to look at him, her eyes wide open, as if this would prove she wasn’t guilty at all.
The waiter happened to return the card. Mu Yuze took it and stood up to walk beside Su Wanwan, grabbing her wrist: "Let’s go, I’ll take you to eat something."
"I’m not hungry!"
"I’m hungry."
Su Wanwan: "..."
Ten minutes later, she was taken by Mu Yuze to a very stylish restaurant, completely different from the spicy hot pot place earlier.
Su Wanwan had no clue what this man was up to.
"Have you settled your job?" Mu Yuze lifted his eyes to ask her.
"Yeah..." Su Wanwan replied vaguely.
"Why did you turn down JL?"
"How did you know?" Su Wanwan raised her head suspiciously.
"Uncle Robert was worried you wouldn’t find a job, so he asked me to save a spot for you at JL." Mu Yuze curved his lips, "But it seems like you have plenty of options and don’t need my help."
Is that so...
"I signed with my mentor’s studio," Su Wanwan explained calmly, "But thank you for the trouble."
Mu Yuze remained silent, his gaze fixed on her, making Su Wanwan feel like she was on pins and needles.
She had no choice but to lower her head and drink some water.
"Su Wanwan, are you still not over me?" he suddenly chuckled softly.
"How could that be?" Su Wanwan was so flustered she almost choked.
"If that’s the case, then why do you pretend not to know me in front of your friends?" His voice was unhurried, "Although we broke up, oh no, although you dumped me, I still consider you like a sister. With Uncle Robert’s request, I don’t mind giving you a hand, I hope you don’t overthink it, just accept it openly."
Su Wanwan blushed furiously.
"I... I just didn’t think it was necessary!" she was a bit angry, "How am I not being open!"
"That’s better." He smiled faintly, handing her the menu, "Order whatever you like."
Su Wanwan took a deep breath, opened the menu, and angrily picked a ton of expensive dishes.
To him, she was no different from those so-called girlfriends, he wasn’t invested, so of course, he wouldn’t get hurt, nor would he feel awkward.
But, did he think everyone was like him?
Openly, he could definitely be open... Su Wanwan thought through clenched teeth, can’t she be?
Mu Yuze glanced at the things she ordered, curved his lips, said nothing, and simply closed the menu.
"Where are you staying now?" he looked at her.
"Hua’an Street... near the city library." Su Wanwan confessed truthfully.
"Sharing with a friend?"
"Yeah, it’s the girl from earlier, Zhou Miaomiao."
"You haven’t started earning yet, right? Do you need living expenses?"
Su Wanwan shook her head, but felt a particularly weird feeling inside.
She never expected, after three years, the two of them could chat so calmly and chat about everyday life, as if he really was just her next-door brother.
Su Wanwan suddenly felt a pang of bitterness, thinking perhaps, this is the best ending for them.
