Chapter 538: Chapter 546: Let’s Go Back! (16)

Chen Wanru hadn’t said anything, and Ling Momo couldn’t help but turn her head to look at Chen Wanru. Before she could speak, the car suddenly jerked violently and skidded far forward, having been rear-ended.

Fortunately, they were wearing seat belts, so neither of them was seriously hurt, but they were still shocked. Chen Wanru quickly regained her composure, turned her head, and looked at Ling Momo, asking, "Are you all right?"

Ling Momo shook her head, forcibly steadying her mind.

Chen Wanru lifted her hand and brushed her hair aside, glanced at the car behind them—a Porsche, seemingly owned by a wealthy person—and let out a cold laugh. "Wait for me in the car; I’ll go have a look." Then she pushed open the car door with a snap and got out.

Chen Wanru looked at her own car, the rear was horribly damaged. Then, she looked at the Porsche, whose owner had not yet emerged. So she stepped out and slowly sauntered up to the car window, knocked on it, and only then did the window slowly roll down. Seeing the person inside, Chen Wanru’s expression involuntarily stiffened, followed by a cold smirk on her lips as she thought to herself, what a small world, indeed, adversaries are bound to meet!

Jian Chenxi was having a particularly unlucky day. She had a concert tomorrow and had specially prepared a VIP ticket for Lu Niange, so he could attend her performance. Yet, all he did was throw out a dismissive "I’m busy," and walked away. Lu Niange’s indifferent demeanor right before he left had irritated her to the point of itching to have a physical fight with him. Yet, she had to forcibly hold it in. While driving, her mind was constantly dwelling on the incident, so lost in thought that she hit the accelerator and collided with the car in front!

That only worsened her mood!

Hearing someone knock on the window, she didn’t even bother to look and just rolled down the window without seeing the extent of the damage she’d inflicted on the car in front. She coldly threw out, "Let’s settle this privately. Name your price, and I’ll pay you."

Upon hearing this, Chen Wanru let out a slight laugh, standing leisurely with a changing smile on her face, dazzlingly brilliant. Slowly removing her glasses, she stared straight at Jian Chenxi’s profile and said, "Settle this privately?"

Jian Chenxi only found the voice familiar but couldn’t immediately place who it was. Annoyed and not bothering to look, she reached over to the passenger seat, grabbed her wallet, pulled out a blank check, then snatched a business card and handed both to the person standing outside the window, saying, "Fill in the amount you want, I have other matters to attend to. You can discuss the details with my assistant."

Chen Wanru did not reach out to take them, her smile fluctuating and even radiantly splendid.

Jian Chenxi grew impatient, turning her head as she began to speak, "Do you want this or..."

Then her voice stopped short, and the next second, her face turned exceptionally cold. She furrowed her brow and spat out three icy words, "Chen Wanru."

That instant, Jian Chenxi’s thoughts mirrored Chen Wanru’s: adversaries are indeed bound to meet!

With a teasing smile, Chen Wanru said with a mocking tone, "Jian the pop star, I don’t need the money. I want this to be public."

After speaking, Chen Wanru took out her phone and dialed the police efficiently, "There’s a rear-end collision on the National Highway near the stadium."
