The Most Random System-Chapter 559 - 318 Feeling Like Using Different Materials to Build a House
Evening self-study.
Lin Li was a bit bored and was idly grasping a Spirit Stone in his hand for cultivation.
When he had first gained the system, it had assigned him learning tasks, and he had lots of progress he needed to catch up on and make up for. Every evening self-study was indeed packed with things to do.
Now he’s completely caught up.
With super memory and a 50% increase in intuition, once Lin Li caught up, he never fell behind again.
Forget falling behind, he was sprinting ahead—the pace of his studies in all subjects was so fast that he’d almost finished previewing an entire book.
Now, during evening self-study and even in class, Lin Li appeared to be looking at the blackboard, but his mind was really focused on the Spirit Stone in his sleeve.
It was another kind of effort, to be sure.
"What are you looking at?" Casually raising his eyes, Lin Li noticed Bai Bufan gazing outside the window. Lin Li glanced over too but found nothing unusual, so he inquired.
"Night sky observation," Bai Bufan replied.
"And what did you observe?"
"It’s night now."
"Idiot," Lin Li answered instantly.
"Isn’t Nansang Middle School a full-day school? If the sun goes away at night, isn’t that false advertising?" Bai Bufan clicked his tongue in confusion.
Bai Bufan was quite idle too, but his idleness was somewhat different from Lin Li’s.
—Tomorrow there’s homework due, there’s recitation, oh, yes, uh, right, but what does that matter? I haven’t written or recited any, but I could just go die, couldn’t I?
An optimistic person should optimistically think about dying, hooray!
Before the midterm exams, he studied too intensely and now has a small aversion to studying, which isn’t excessive.
"Go find Wang Ze; he’ll supply you with the sun you missed," Lin Li said, nodding his chin towards the right-front of the classroom.
"Forget that sun," Bai Bufan chuckled awkwardly.
"Then I have another idea. Let’s hang the portrait of those three people above the blackboard—in a ’Shiny’ formation!" Lin Li suggested, lifting both his hands—\0/\0/\0/.
Three suns, three lifts, reasonable.
"Three suns would scorch us to death; if Hou Yi were resurrected, the first person he’d kill is you, Lin Li," Bai Bufan laughed, pointing.
"No need for Hou Yi. If we actually dared to hang that up in class, the principal would be out of a job and shoot me with a rifle by tomorrow," Lin Li chuckled.
"Hey, but, Lin Li," Bai Bufan, imagining the scenario, suddenly paused, turned his head, and frowned at Lin Li.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think... would they build houses with different materials?" Bai Bufan inquired.
Lin Li: "(;☉_☉)?"
Different materials?
"Oh my gosh? Oh my gosh!" After a brief daze, coming to the realization, Lin Li could no longer hold back his suppressed laughter, bowing his head and giving Bai Bufan’s shoulder a punch:
"Damn it, Bai Bufan, you sure know how to curse now."
Someone who enjoys amusing others feels a sense of accomplishment from successfully doing so; Bai Bufan instantly raised his eyebrows with pride, turned his head, and poked Zhou Baowei to ask:
"Baowei, what material would you use to build a house in the future, straw, wood, or bricks?"
Zhou Baowei: "?"
Your mom.
But before Zhou Baowei could unleash a meteor strike, a sound came from the classroom’s main door opening.
Lin Li immediately used his left hand to cover his mouth, right hand to write in the air above the desk; Bai Bufan furrowed his brows, scratched his head with his left hand, leaned back with his chair, picked up his textbook with his right hand, and began mumbling like he was reciting; Zhou Baowei bent over, picking up the nonexistent air eraser from the floor.
Three of them performed eighteen fake moves in one second.
Zhang Yimou saw the scene and turned to show a shocked face, oh my, oh my, what veteran actors they were.
This could be shown in the cinema; even blind folks and their guide dogs would cry.
After their performance, they checked the doorway with their peripheral vision.
Oh crap, it wasn’t the teacher.
It was just the math class rep, Hou Yuyong.
Gan Lingniang! Wasting our dramatic skills!
"Do you know what ’pretending to be a tiger with the fox’s reliance’ means?" The three breathed a sigh of relief, and Lin Li, pursing his lips, spoke softly to Bai Bufan.
"Explain in detail," Bai Bufan asked out of curiosity.
"If Yuyong left with Xue Jian’s head, everyone who saw it would be frightened away, that’s ’pretending to be a tiger with the fox’s reliance’," Lin Li explained, his eyes filled with hopeful anticipation:
"Speaking of which, that feels exciting; I want the chance to carry Xue Jian’s head around to scare you all."
Bai Bufan: "?"
"Wait, wait a minute," Bai Bufan frowned, feeling something was off with this answer: "I need to think."
It’s indeed mighty, but seemingly not quite fake...
Soon Lin Li noticed Hou Yuyong didn’t return to his seat but approached Chen Yu Ying to say something.
Hakelin, hair on end! Enter primary reactive mode! Ready for ’pretending to be Hou Yuyong’s reliance’ at any moment!
However, then he saw Chen Yu Ying nod, rise, and leave, while Hou Yuyong started seeking others, Zhang Haoyang, Wang Yuezhi, Zhuo Yongfei...
Wang Yuezhi bolted out like a runaway wild Bufan.
Lin Li was quite curious, deciding to ask after class, then Hou Yuyong actually approached him.
Their turn of events?
"Lin Li, come to the office, Xue Jian is looking for you," Hou Yuyong said as he drew near, nodding his chin.
Normally, Lin Li would ask what he was wanted for at this time, but now Chen Yu Ying was already gone, with no time to ask—the reason was evident, it wouldn’t be anything bad.
Since Hou Yuyong was calling people one by one, the few in the aisle didn’t leave together, Lin Li’s view from near to far was Zhuo Yongfei, Zhang Haoyang, Wang Yuezhi, Chen Yu Ying.
It’s basically arranged by time, except Wang Yuezhi.
But he’s very distanced from Chen Yu Ying.
It feels... as if in the classroom he sprinted to shorten the distance, but actually walked down the corridor. Once within Chen Yu Ying’s visual range with a turn of her head, he didn’t dare run anymore, merely pretending to unconsciously walk quickly, without purpose.
