Chapter 136: Weaponsmith (Part 2)

Rem looked at the figure and a sigh escaped his lips.

’I had planned on finding you first,’ Rem thought, ’and attacking you by surprise but you did so first,’

He knew better than letting his rage surface, instead he steadily created a slime similar to himself and handed Megan over – the slime immediately took off, it was given a limited intelligence with it’s objectives easy; to escape from this place and hide Megan well.

After the slime had left, Rem looked up while folding his arms.

"I remember you from the treasure room," He said without any trace of fear in his voice, "You had a certain kind of aura around you – something sharp akin to a blade,"

The demon’s crimson eyes locked onto him without a word and several portals appeared behind him.

’Portals?’ Rem was instantly on guard, these portals radiated the kind of aura he had sensed before... and different kind of weapons shot out of them, ranging from daggers to long spears and all of them were shooting at Rem whose eyes radiated a green glow.

’So his skill is to summon weapons, eh? That’ll be a good one for me,’ Rem thought while vanishing from his spot, letting the weapons rain down on the original weapon he had thrown.

Rem ran across the ground, the rain of weapons following quickly and stabbing into the areas where he had been – his movements were amplified by the Body strengthening skill ensuring his seamless navigation across the ground.

The Demon looked at Rem before closing one of the portals in the air, only to reopen it in front of Rem. Time seemed to slow in front of him as the blue portal unraveled slowly, the first wave of weapons already made their way out of the portal and toward Rem who took in a deep breath, his figure blurred and then vanished before the weapons could harm him.

’Where did he go?’ The Demon thought while frantically searching around, the portals were still open and firing weapons down randomly but Rem’s presence seemed to have disappeared, no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t pinpoint it.

Rem emerged from the Demon’s shadow and cocked his fist back, gathering soul energy within it before throwing it forward and colliding with the Demon’s back... a wave of power engulfed the both of them, ravaging the world around them.

’Convergence!’

Black sparks of lightning covered the demon and sent it shooting toward the ground, as the demon slammed into the ground, the portals vanished and reality began to repair itself from the distortion.

Rem fell from the air but he didn’t stop focusing on his opponent for even a minute, he sent several air cutters ripping through the air as well as air bullets... each attack packed with magical energy as Rem focused on his current goal, destroying this demon.

’I just need to close the distance and land a few more Convergences,’ Rem thought as he kept falling, ’To even the playing field,’

The attacks Rem had sent toward the demon were tanked instantly, and it created a portal right below Rem – on the ground he was supposed to fall on.

’Damn,’ Rem thought as he kept falling to his doom, the weapons shot out and gathered momentum as they kept gaining distance, it was only a matter of time before they hit Rem but the Apprentice was prepared, a blue hand grabbed him and floated him out of harm’s way.

The blue hand vanished and Rem landed on the ground, pulling out all five fingers and raising them into the air – blue flashes echoed in the sky above them as clouds gathered, when it was clear that there was not supposed to be weather in a dungeon.

The Demon quickly stood up from the ground and prepared to jump, he knew something dangerous was going to happen and he didn’t want to be in the center of it but Rem left him no choice, Two slimes cloned as Rem emerged and held him down from both sides as the move was soon prepared.

The Demon’s eyes quickly brightened in realization at the technique used, his breath quickened as the clouds rattled in the air.

’T-t-tobi?’ He thought as several bolts of lightning descended upon them, exploding the ground below the Demon and obliterating the slimes holding the Demon down.

Rem pulled back his fingers and began breathing heavily.

"I used that skill at it’s maximum power," Rem said, "There’s no way he could have survived from such an attack and even if he did, he would be incredibly injured,"

The portal that had been shooting weapons into the air vanished and this only made Rem strongly support that the Demon was dead but his eyes widened in surprise, even trembling as the smoke cleared and the Demon stared at his eyes.

"That’s my younger brother’s technique," The Demon said, "What’s it doing with you?"

"I took it when I killed him," Rem spoke calmly, despite being surprised that the Demon had managed to escape the attack unscathed, "Tobi right?"

"And why did you kill him?" The demon asked.

"Because he tried to kill me first," Rem replied and the calm collapsed – the storm was unleashed as the Demon shouted, a powerful aura pervaded the battlefield and countless portals were formed, swirling in the air and around Rem... Rem gulped as each portal let off a blue glow before weapons rippled out of them and toward him.

"I’ll kill you!" He cried out, his cloak rolling down from his head and revealing his spiky brown hair as well as golden eyes, "And after that, I’ll kill the girl that I saw with you!" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

The weapons rained down upon Rem, each of them aiming to close down on him and end his life but he didn’t feel fear – how could he feel fear? A thick murderous intent pressed down against the battlefield, every single weapon fell to the ground losing all of their momentum and the Demon took a step back.

"W-what?" He asked, while watching a green monster materialize right before his very eyes... at a glance, it was much more powerful than him.
