Gu Jin and Long Yifan spent the rest of their years as adventurers rather than becoming the mighty mage couple or the guardians of the mage world that everyone had once urged them to be.

They preferred to remain on the sidelines, away from fame and titles.

The reason for their quiet retreat was simple: they believed that others, mages and humans far more gifted than they were, those with potential bordering on godhood, deserved to hold such positions instead.

Out of humility, they stepped down from those responsibilities.

Gu Jin then applied to become a Special Forces officer.

Though it seemed like a modest role, everyone knew there was nothing ordinary about her appointment.

The entire world, or rather, the entire internet, still remembered the legendary live stream hosted by Gu Jin and Long Yifan, where the God of the Mage World himself appeared to defend them.

That event had shattered every known boundary between myth and reality.

Even now, years later, countless people still debated its authenticity.

Some accused the broadcast of being staged; others insisted it was an illusion.

Experts across various disciplines analyzed every frame, every particle of light within that video, yet no one could find proof of deceit.

Eventually, even the skeptics were forced to accept the truth: the god they saw had been real. The live stream had not been a fabrication but a divine revelation.

That single event elevated Gu Jin and Long Yifan to near-legendary status among both mortals and mages alike.

Yet, despite all the fame, Gu Jin remained grounded. She threw herself into her work as a Special Forces officer, traveling across continents in search of spirit veins.

Her goal wasn't just discovery; it was ownership. She wanted to claim a mine of her own, build wealth beyond imagination, and eventually retire as the richest woman in the world.

After that, she planned to journey into other realms, not as a savior, but as a wanderer.

'Each world is a vacation spot,' she often mused to herself. 'A place to rest, to feel alive again.'

Long Yifan, ever devoted, indulged her ambitions wholeheartedly. If Gu Jin wanted to explore, he would accompany her. If she wanted to fight, he would stand beside her.

Their partnership became the stuff of quiet admiration, a couple who could have ruled the world, but instead chose to simply live in it.

By the time they both reached their fifties, their adventures had settled into a life of peace and subtle joy. To everyone's astonishment, Gu Jin became pregnant with her first child.

Around the same time, the illustrious Gu family stood on the brink of ascension, every member ready to transcend to godhood.

Yet, they deliberately held back, choosing to remain on Earth for the sake of one tiny reason: Jasmine's newborn son, Gu Jina, Gu Jin's beloved nephew and the first grandson of the Gu family.

Gu Jina became the family's precious jewel, loved by all and spoiled without restraint. Among all those who adored him, his fondness for his paternal aunt, Gu Jin, stood out most.

He followed her everywhere, clinging to her like her own shadow. It was clear that the affection Long Yifan, Jasmine, and even the Gu family felt for Gu Jin had all been mirrored in the boy.

Whenever Gu Jin wasn't traveling on official duty, she would take Gu Jina on small adventures. Together, they explored hidden valleys, crossed dimensional rifts, and wandered through uncharted lands.

She taught him about spirit beasts, ancient runes, and survival, though, truth be told, most of their journeys were just excuses for Gu Jin to see the joy on his face when he discovered something new.

Long Yifan often joined them, ensuring their little adventures remained safe, while the rest of the Gu family marveled at the sights they brought back.

Yet despite uncovering countless mysteries, they never revealed their findings to the public.

Gu Jin insisted it would create chaos if the world learned too much. 'Some truths,' she said once to Long Yifan, 'are meant to be admired, not owned.'

Over time, her bond with Gu Jina deepened. When the boy turned eleven, Gu Jin revealed she was expecting her first child.

From that moment, Gu Jina became even more inseparable from her, hovering protectively and often talking to her belly as if the unborn child could hear him.

His innocent excitement made Gu Jin's heart melt.

Though she had pretended indifference, deep down she had always longed for a child. And just as her intuition had whispered, her firstborn was a girl.

When Long Yifan received the news, his joy knew no bounds. He threw a grand banquet that lasted two days and two nights, inviting everyone they cherished.

He had always dreamed that their first child would be a daughter, delicate, strong, and bright like her mother.

"May all our children be daughters," he joked, though his tone carried a strange sincerity that made everyone laugh.

Long Yifan became so protective that even Gu Jin's brother, Gu JiHu, rolled his eyes.

When Jasmine had been pregnant, Long Yifan had teased JiHU relentlessly for his overprotective behavior. Now, he was ten times worse, forbidding anyone except Gu Jina from entering Gu Jin's room, claiming others might carry "harmful bacteria."

Gu JiHu was utterly speechless. The Gu family, too, could only watch helplessly, unsure whether to laugh or sigh at Long Yifan's contradictions.

They often joked that their family had completely stolen away the Longs, after all, Long Yifan had become a son-in-law living under their roof, while Jasmine was now the daughter-in-law of the same house. It was absurd yet oddly perfect.

They might have felt a bit shameless, but deep inside, everyone agreed it was better this way, to keep their loved ones close rather than apart.

When Gu Jin finally gave birth, the entire household rejoiced. Long Yifan held the tiny baby in his arms for what felt like eternity, his eyes brimming with awe.

"I'll name an entire planet after her," he declared impulsively, and everyone laughed, thinking it was just his usual exaggeration.

But years later, true to his word, Long Yifan discovered a planet during one of his expeditions and officially named it after his daughter.

Gu Jin, meanwhile, recovered remarkably fast. By divine blessing, perhaps a residual gift from the God who once favored her, she experienced no mortal pain during childbirth and no complications afterward.

Still, the Gu family remained cautious, urging the couple not to have any more children.

Surprisingly, both agreed. Parenthood, as they soon discovered, was both a blessing and a battlefield.

Though they adored their daughter beyond measure, the sleepless nights, endless crying, and constant attention she demanded tested their limits.

'No one warned us that love could be so exhausting,' Gu Jin often thought as she rocked her baby through the night.

Between changing diapers, soothing wails, checking milk temperatures, and trying to interpret every cry, she sometimes longed for the simplicity of her old adventuring days.

Thankfully, they had help. Gu Jina, Si Kai, and even Ying Yue often volunteered to care for the baby.

Their teamwork allowed the exhausted parents a few hours of rest, which they often made up for by napping inside Gu Jin's space.

Despite the chaos, it was a happy chaos — one filled with laughter, warmth, and love.

Time passed quickly. When their daughter turned two, Gu Jin began preparing her for cultivation training at age four.

Both she and Long Yifan dreamed of taking her across worlds, introducing her to the same wonders they once explored. But fate had other plans.

To their surprise, and slight horror, Gu Jin became pregnant again.

Long Yifan was torn between disbelief and reluctant joy.

Though he had always wanted daughters, he still cherished the idea of family.

When their second child, a son, was born, Long Yifan was just as attentive and protective as before.

However, after the delivery, he made a firm declaration. "No more children," he said gravely. "I'll find a potion, a flower, anything that ensures it."

Gu Jin couldn't help laughing at his seriousness. But truthfully, she agreed.

Parenthood had drained them both far more than fighting monsters ever had.

Their son was healthy... but oh, how he cried!

A single delay in feeding, a shift in light, or even the wind brushing past his face would set him off. His crying echoed through the night like a siren.

'He's truly my greatest challenge yet,' Gu Jin thought half in exasperation, half in affection. Her head often throbbed from sleepless nights.

If not for Mrs. Gu, who often whisked the baby away to give her a break, Gu Jin might have burst into tears herself.

Despite it all, whenever she held her little boy and saw his chubby cheeks and tiny fingers clutching her thumb, all her exhaustion vanished.

The days blended into years, filled with noise, laughter, and a kind of love that transcended their past as mages and warriors.

To them, happiness was no longer measured by power or prestige, but by the quiet joy of seeing their children sleep safely beside them.
