The Mightiest Little Master of Metaphysics-Chapter 21 What Does a Little Kid Know
Chapter 21 - 21 What Does a Little Kid Know
"Your mother's test results have improved a lot compared to before. When I called this morning, she said that for the first time, she slept through the night without any dreams. She used to be scared awake by nightmares and couldn't sleep until dawn."
"That's great! Will Grandma be able to leave the hospital soon?" Yun Qi instantly awake, rubbed her eyes, her almond-shaped eyes widening with anticipation as she asked.
"Yes, that's what the doctor said. But she still needs to stay a while longer. Once all her indicators are satisfactory, she can return home."
"Oh, Grandma can go home soon." Yun Qi reverted to her childlike nature, clapping her hands giddily.
The Old Master was touched by his granddaughter's innocence and cuteness. He reached out to pinch Yun Qi's chubby little cheek, "It's all thanks to Qi bringing good luck to the family. Qi is such a good girl."
Saying this, he affectionately patted Yun Qi's soft hair, took her small hand, "Just woke up, you must be hungry. Let's go, Grandpa will take you to eat. We have your favorite big buns today."
Yun Qiuce watched helplessly as the grandfather and granddaughter walked away, thinking to himself that he hadn't eaten either. Why hadn't anyone asked him?
Before he could catch up, Yun Ying came downstairs, looking like she was about to go out.
"Yun Ying," Yun Qiuce slumped back onto the sofa, turned off the TV with a remote, "The hospital called just now. The old lady's condition has improved a lot. She might be discharged in a while."
Yun Ying's body shivered, her hand involuntarily tightened on the banister. "How is that possible? Grandma's condition wasn't good yesterday."
"Who knows, maybe Qi's words had an effect." Yun Qiuce slightly curved his lips into a charming yet roguish smile that could provoke anyone.
Yun Ying remembered the argument she had with Yun Qi last night, realizing her uncle was subtly standing up for Yun Qi.
She glanced at him indifferently, "I got it."
Yun Qiuce rubbed the back of his head and playfully whistled a tune.
A feeling of jealousy slowly rose in Yun Ying's heart, and even the clear whistle from her uncle sounded extremely grating.
He used to care for her a lot.
Why did everything change after Yun Qi came back?
It was driving her crazy.

Leaving the house, Yun Ying felt much better, but couldn't figure out her argument with Yun Qi the previous night.
Last night at the hospital, she distinctly sensed a very strong aura that frightened all the Dead Souls there. So she naturally assumed it was this aura bothering Grandma, causing her prolonged illness.
Why did Yun Qi go against her?
The crucial point was that she was right.
This morning, Grandma was significantly better. If this continued, she could be discharged soon.
If that happened, Grandpa and Uncle would all think Yun Qi is more capable.
But what does this little brat know!
Was it just dumb luck? Such good fortune indeed.
Thinking this over, the car brought her to a secluded office building, surrounded by greenery, isolated and quiet. The building looked somewhat dilapidated, like an abandoned government building, with its entrance obscured by lushly blooming roses, not easily visible without careful inspection.
Yun Ying got out of the car, dispelling the chaotic thoughts from her mind, opened the rusty iron gate, and walked in steadily.
The iron gate creaked like an old man in twilight, and a swaying rose branch brushed against the rusted sign, where a few faded words could be seen: xx Directly Affiliated 49 Bureau.
She took the shuddering elevator to the fourth floor, where in a slightly ajar meeting room, everyone turned their heads.

Most were elderly, some with white hair and beards, some holding horsetail whisks, some dressed in Otherworld costumes...
Each was peculiar in their own way.
Yun Ying was clearly the youngest among them, the contrast between her youthful face and their white hair striking.
